Palin lashed out at the media in a Friday statement.
Palin lashed out at the media in a Friday statement.

(CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s office accused the media Friday of habitually taking her remarks out of context “to create adversarial situations,” and of pursuing “erroneous and often outrageous leads on a variety of non-issues.”

The statement also charged that some members of the media, including independent bloggers and the Atlantic, were continuing “to give credence to the sensational allegation that the governor’s child, Trig, is not hers.”

“As a public official, I expect criticism and I expect to be held accountable for how I govern,” Palin said in a statement released by her office Friday. “But the personal, salacious nature of recent reporting, and often the refusal of the media to correct obvious mistakes, unfortunately discredits too many in journalism today, making it difficult for many Americans to believe what they see in the media.”

Earlier: Palin takes digs at Fey, Couric

The governor also said press coverage had distorted her recent remarks about aspiring New York senator Caroline Kennedy. “I was not commenting at all on Caroline Kennedy as a prospective U.S. senator, but rather on the seemingly arbitrary ways in which news organizations determine the level and kind of scrutiny given to those who aspire to public office,” she said. “In fact, I consider Ms. Kennedy qualified and experienced, and she could serve New York well.”

In portions of an interview with conservative John Ziegler released Thursday, Palin said it would be “interesting” to see how coverage of Kennedy’s candidacy compared to her own media experience. “It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.”

Her office took particular issue with a Politico story that said Palin had called coverage of Kennedy to date too soft.

Palin’s office also charged that reporters were unfairly scrutinizing the governor and her family. “Just this week, false stories in the media surfaced alleging improper influence by the Palin administration or the governor herself,” they said in the Friday statement, pointing to a report by an Alaska paper on union charges that her administration had delayed serving an arrest warrant on the mother of Levi Johnston, fiance of Bristol Palin. Union officials later changed the substance of those allegations considerably.

Another report — that Johnston lacked the proper educational requirements for the position he held — resulted in his resignation from the job.

While there are so many people who are up on Sarah Palin, I'm surprised the fact that Palin is the governor of a state that ranks 46th in the nation in population, and that there are 16 U.S. cities that have more people than her state.
She looked like a nitwit because she wasn't prepared. Plain and simple. If she admitted that, it would be better than complaining about the media coming after me. Sorry. It's not the media I'm afraid of. It's the self righteous that keeps me awake at night.

thanks, but no thanks   January 9th, 2009 3:45 pm ET

say what?????? Palling around with terrorists, witchcraft, underage pregnancy, shoot the polar bears from the chopper, no credentials, barely got a degree in communications, mayor of Vasilla, and governor of the duhhh state. Need l say more....

Tom   January 9th, 2009 3:45 pm ET

Want some cheese with that whine? Of course Caroline Kennedy has been treated softer by media. For one thing she is not an idiot. Second she does not hold huge rallies spouting off devisive, vile comments based on total fabrications. Third she does not condone people yelling about killing people at her events. Sarah is not even close to Ms. Kennedy's league. Do us a favor and don't open your mouth except to eat.

Dorothy   January 9th, 2009 3:43 pm ET

Sarah, needs to get over it and go away! she did not make as a beauty queen nor as VP. John McCain sure opened Pandora's box with this one. Blagojevich and Sarah Palin, please go away!

Oh please, enough already with this Ding Dong! The GOP mascot must go away. I can't take this idiot anymore!

Derrick, Atlanta   January 9th, 2009 3:43 pm ET

She needs to stop crying. She was and is a complete joke. She's a freaking idiot who didn't know anything. No one took anything out of context. She had the nerve to say if she had been on the democratic ticket, the people would have loved here. Is she on crack? Her political party affiliation has nothing to do with her ignorance.

m   January 9th, 2009 3:43 pm ET

this woman would have been a perfect in the paranoid, delusional world of the bush administration.
what do you suppose would be said about a woman politican from the Democratic party who had a unmarried teenager with a new born baby who's other grandma was just busted for drugs?

I can't believe what I am hearing. Governor Palin criticizes the press for reporting "salacious" remarks, but she had no qualms about accusing President-Elect Obama of palling around with terrorists?"

He did pal around with terrorists! I remember the Weather Underground from when I was in High School, Ayers, Dorn the entire sticking lot of them.
If you boy is such a genius, why did he not know who he was talking to?
Or is this just another case of the Media selected winner getting a free ride?

After reading most of this long list of comments, I'm guessing that the Obama headquarters sent out a text message to all their volunteer bloggers to do their part for Change, and "destroy the Palin brand."

Jon   January 9th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

Sarah came out swingin' during her national debut and the RNC. Now she's whining about people swinging back. Politics is a dirty business, Sarah. When you sling mud, don't cry when someone throws it back at you.

Linda   January 9th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

You would've thought she learned something along the campaign trail, but it is evident she didn't. She is her own worst enemy the more she talks the more she is going to be fodder. Maybe she did learn something afterall!

Ken from missouri   January 9th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

Jack . Sara Palin is like your sister-in-law you can relate to her but you wish she would keep her mouth shut because every time she talks her lack of common knowledge just comes out whether she want's it to or not.

Laughing again   January 9th, 2009 3:41 pm ET

The difference between Kennedy and Palin is, of course, the fact that Palin is a complete dingbat. There is little to report about Kennedy other than her relative lack of experience, since she is well educated and highly intelligent. Such as.

Frankly, if you are going to run a campaign on "Family Values" and put down opponents for lacking morals - you just put yourself up for excessive scrutiny, esp when your 15yr old daughter gets pregnant.

Run on a campaign of improving the economy and the media wouldnt have cared two bits about your personal life.

Wow. She just doesn't get it! I don't think she ever will. She is showing what an horrible amatuer she really is. I guess she forgot that some of the nastiest and most fradulent accusations came out of HER mouth in this campaign!

Will someone she trusts please sit her down and explain to her that the American people can think for themselves and the majority of us, I beleive, find her to be very unprepared emotional, or intellectually to hold high office. No wonder the McCain kept her on a short lease. Look at how she's acting now.

She needs a new nickname, "Say Anything Sarah." I hope it sticks.

Please, GOP, please put her on the ticket in 2012!

SD Demo   January 9th, 2009 3:39 pm ET

BKMC   January 9th, 2009 3:39 pm ET

Palin should have said no to McCain for the selection to be VP, she has not helped the ticket at all, but McCain has also demonstrated his lack of judgement by picking Palin. Both have very low IQ. She has to continue to take care of the tundra, the snow, her children and grand children and watch Putin and Medvedev from the window of her bedroom.

Kevin in Ohio says, "the media bias and left wing hatred and vitriol is obvious to anyone with half a brain." Yeah, but what about those of us with *entire* brains? Oh, that's right, we rejected the Republican party for its nearly decade-long war on reason, compentency, and progress. Sarah Palin's very own vitriolic comments on Obama were entirely uncalled for. Palls around with terrorists? Quick, someone call the feds!

bs   January 9th, 2009 3:36 pm ET

Independent bloggers are not journalists, can't anyone differentiate? The main stream media did not repeat as truth these rumors, they never validated these rumors. The media did not treat her better or worse than any other candidate–all she is doing is trying to keep the mantra going about the "liberal" media to deflect the attention from her own inadequacies, a tatic begun by republican candidatesin the 70s and pretty much discredited. She was not ready for the national stage - neither the questions nor the issues (she apparently had never thought about many of the issues facing this country). Just like the Enron boys, the Congress, Bush its always someone else's fault.

What republican does not know what the Bush doctrine is? Answer Sarah Palin. Wink wink now there you go again Joe

lbee   January 9th, 2009 3:35 pm ET

Palin, you have to understand that when you're a Vice Presidential candidate, you will be scrutined by the media. The Couric interviews were very generous, fair and balanced. Those interviews exposed Palin's complete lack of intellectual depth and curiousity. That has to be irritating for Palin, but very valuable for those considering her as a candidate.

I normally just scroll through the ignorant ranting of ignorant liberals, but man I gotta tell you, anyone who cannot see that Gov. Palin is FAR more qualified than BO, is just nuts. The only reason liberals hate her is because she is qualified, and she is beautiful. Show me a beautiful liberal and I will kiss your you know what. Liberals are only alive to be a victim, and if they can't be a victim, they invent something in order to be considered a victim. When BO and the Clinton gang run this country into the ditch or God forbid we are attacked again, who are they going to call on to fix it? That would be conservatives, and personally I would like to line up all the folks who voted for this affirmative action potus, but trust me, when the crap hits the fan, they will all deny voting for him. Liberals don't even understand that we have fought wars so that they could have the freedom to spew their venom, nothing good is going to come of any of this.

As dumb as she is, she's absolutely right (for once). All the media cares about is making sure the price of the advertising time and space that they sell is as high as possible….that means having a high share of the market for viewership/readership and a high click count on websites. How do you do that?

Step 1 – Understand that Americans are starving for controversy and gossip.

Step 2 – Report EVERYTHING as though it is a controversy even though it is just gossip.

Matt! You are the Genius! With all the questions about why Sarah is still in the news you alone formulated it correctly. It is exactly what happens and will happen, and the folks will love it. Sarah will not go away so easily.

You Liberals are all the same. You want women to have power, unless they are with the party of the enemy. You are the same people that cry about those killed in Iraq yet hold "a mother's right to choose" dear to your heart.

Death is wrong unless, apparently, you are trying to get rid of an unwanted person in your life. Face it, life starts at conception and anyone that agrees to abortion is agreeing to murder. Anyone against the war because of the killing that supports Pro-Choice is a hypocrite. Either life is scared or it's not.

Let's all see how you feel in 4 years after your great hope has run the course. See I want the best for my country and hope Obama succeeds. But it's not encouraging when he wants to spend a trillion dollars on stimulus when history shows that doesn't work. Who is the stupid person now... Liberals wouldn't know a balanced budget if it bit them in the butt.

Who's Complaining   January 9th, 2009 3:25 pm ET

I love the coverage of Palin. She's entertaining. It's comical to see her consitantly blaming the media, the McCain camp and everyone else for the public perception of her. The comments that she's taken the most heat for were not reported out of context. They were her words and they made her seem unintelligent. I don't think she's a dumb person. In fact, I get the sense that she's probably pretty smart. I also get the sense that she's very out of touch with life in the lower 48. With time, experience, exposure and training she's going to be around for years. Get used to it and enjoy the ride.

Good for her! I dont understand why everyone is on here case!! Maybe because were all a little threatened???? I think she would do a darn good job in office. This whole election was based on Racism and Sexism in a time where we should be better than that as a county!! Where were all the people helping others sign up to vote when bush was running? Where were all the people who were volunteering to drive people to vote when bush was running? NO WHERE, thats where! Everyone wanted so bad to "not have" and African American president, or "not have" a Women as Vice-president. Lets all get over ourselve and base our thoughts and actions on whats best for us as a country.

LEAVE THE FAMILIES OUT OF ALL THIS!!! Obamas two girls and palins 5 kids should NOT be allowed to be part of everyones negativity. I think that is a line that should NOT be crossed!

First of all – all you hateful Liberals make me sick. It’s pathetic how any headline with Palin’s name in it cues hundreds of generic unintelligent “Palin is the Anti-Christ” comments. Grow up.

Secondly – she makes a great point. The media has gotten out of control. I’ve never seen such bias in an election. Every major network anchor/reporter might have well been wearing “Vote for Obama” shirts on air. Had Palin been on the Democratic ticket she would have been portrayed as a goddess. I guarantee Caroline Kennedy will hardly be scratched by the media.

I know it’s hard for you far lefties to see, but if you are on the right or in the middle (like me) it is very apparent. This should concern everyone, regardless of political views.

The word 'salacious' isn't in Sarah Palin's vocabulary, or lack thereof. This woman will try anything to keep playing in the presidential game. I can't stand it for another 4 years!!!

"Good 'ol Levi" simply is not SMART enough to get his G.E.D.

Obviously it is the media's responsibility to re-phrase Ms. Palin's comments until they make sense and appeal to the public. For shame!

"salacious" is a pretty big word for a mental midget

Al Ram   January 9th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

J. Schow   January 9th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

If Sarah P. is so concerned about truth and honesty, why did she continue to be the lying attack-dog that was spreading crap about Obama during the campaign. Apparently, bending the truth (or in her case, flat out lying) was ok during her venom-spewing nonsensical tirades.

KaMpBell_BrOwN_SuX   January 9th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

Chuck   January 9th, 2009 3:21 pm ET

Martin,

Do you even know what you are talking about?

"Is this the same woman that falsely accused Barack Obama of palling around with terrorists?"

Who is Bill Ares? He is a self proclaimed terrorist. He calls himself that. And Bill was at the Obama residency the night he threw his hat in the presidential ring!!!

But I am sure the "messiah" can fit it.. he can just throw another 3 trillion at it until this country is so far in debt. Or perhaps you might notice how much Obama can’t speak without his teleprompter.

Rudy   January 9th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

Who believes the media anymore anyway all the honest hard working media personalities are gone and the new comers are bought mouth pieces. The new media personalities all have chosen sides no one reports truth anymore or at least the truth they can report. I don't even trust CNN anymore to find truthful articles! It's a sad day in America when the information provided to you as an American is as good as the roll of paper in your local gas stations restroom!

George   January 9th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

To the idiots that have posted on this today... WAKE UP... the Media totally played the Palin matter to make her LOOK bad... She is a fine and intelligent woman that would have served our country much better than Big ears and Biden shall.. Of course Kennedy will receive the "soft shoe" from the Media... She's both a "Kennedy" and a Democrat...

I now know why Bloobers, I mean bloggers are such a joke most of the time...

Amber   January 9th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

Seriously...? Come on CNN, you blow FOX out of the water and that is even with posting this crap. I get it, you guys want ratings so you post this kind of annoyance. But this just feeds a fire that should have died out a long time ago. It encourages Palin and her cohorts – after all, she is still getting air time. Please, unless she does something actually worthy of being reported on in the press (and "lashing out" with her temper tantrums is not worthy) then report on the 100's of more important, substantial issues out there.

Jay   January 9th, 2009 3:19 pm ET

Sarah Palin like Cynthia McKinney put her foot in her mouth every

proved power in the hands of a fool was a dangerous thing, we did
not need her to continue this madness.

She actually should be in a "Dukes of Hazard" show, or something....
Or if , "Hee Haw" was still on, that would be more fitting for her.....

It' truly amazing that this trailer park trash keeps in the news constantly…..I guess she must like it, especially when her knocked up daughter who had that baby out of wed-lock, and Palin thinks that good 'ol "levi" is going to be an apprentice electrician…..who is she kidding ??
I don't HIRE electricians (apprentice) who cannot get their G.E.D.

Poor Sarah. Poor John. Bad Media. When will a Republican step up, admit his/her party's mistakes, and start taking responsibility for the mess they are in? The media has now been blamed for all of their woes for too long.

Look "the media" didn't nominate her to be the vice president, didn't cause her daughter to get pregnant, didn't force her to use the disgusting tactics she used during her candidacy, and didn't push forward any bad stories about Trig. Once she was nominated, "the media" simply looked into her past so the American public could know her as a candidate AND gave her airtime. It's not their fault that it took only to look beside her on stage to see a potential story and it's not their fault that should couldn't answer simple questions from Katie Couric.

So long Palin.

Nothing in common any more. The first three have finally pulled it together and have begun to fly high. While the nasty airhead divas like Sarah Palin and Amy Winehouse are still struggling to come up to level of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsey Lohan.

sarah needs to sit down and shut up... so sick of hearing her complain and blame someone for her own mistakes and problems. You dont just come from nowhere and run for vice president and not expect criticism, her personal life and childrens lives being brought in the spotlight... you cant complain and blame a star winning awards because she used your personality.
Obamas life was similar... but he didnt make alot of mistakes coming into this... he didnt come into this blindly and not letting people know somewhat who he was beforehand. He had a book out about himself first that did help. He didnt push his beliefs on others like Palin did.

Just go home, get a life, stop talking to media and maybe you will eventually get your life back?? Cuz I am so tired of hearing about it.

The Trig issue was quickly cleared up by the press. Palin is the only one who buried herself. She was – and remains – uninformed, uninspiring, and incapable of holding an office higher than the one she holds (and even THAT one is above her pay grade, as is evidenced by her questionable practices). She needs to stop blaming everyone for her shortcomings.

Look. I understand that some of the thing the media bit on was pretty bad, especially her little boy. But I can't see how she, or anyone else can look back at those atrocious interviews she did, and tell me that she didn't look ridiculous. They gave her a hard time, because she was running for Vice-President! If an aspiring brain surgeon went on TV and showed, clearly, that they knew absolutely nothing about the brain, or surgery in general, what do you think the public would want to do to that person? He wouldn't be operating on anyone, that's for sure. And everyone would have a field day on the nerve of that person to insist they become a brain surgeon without learning the craft in the first place.

As far as taking what you dish out. She attacked Obama, the political official. The media attacked her, not the political officials.

IL voter for REAL, ACTUAL, not "yes we can" CHANGE.   January 9th, 2009 3:13 pm ET

Linda, You are ABSOLUTELY right. Thousands of the over 300 million Americans support Sarah Palin 100%. The other 300 million of us see her for the slightly less corrupt than most of the politicians headlining the news these days, and that doesn't count for much.

I do think that the reporting on almost all politicians these days is a bit slanderous and often a bit personal, but since most of us don't get to meet them personally on a regular basis, I don't have much issue with it. I do however try and get to hear every major candidate every time they come through town. McCain in 2000 was a real missed chance... McCain in 2008 was too tired, too little, too late, and not focused enough on defining a full platform. He could have won some serious concessions on nuclear power from Obama at the debates if he would have tried.

Hey Sarah,
Did you notice that all of the candidates, including John McCain, released their medical records long before the election? We were still asking to see yours on November 3. Instead, you released a letter from your family physician that mentioned a breast biopsy and that you don't have allergies. Why are you surprised that people think you're hiding something? You carried that baby all over the country like he was a campaign sign or something. If you had left your children at home like the rest of the candidates instead of parading them all over the country at the expense of Alaska taxpayers, you probably wouldn't be having this problem. You didn't have a problem with all of the photo ops of you being mom of the year. The media was doing its job. Now go do yours. Fire some more state troopers and prevent some more drug dealers from being arrested and prosecuted. And stay out of the spotlight. We're tired of you.

Sincerely,
America

sm   January 9th, 2009 3:12 pm ET

Stop acting the victim – which you are not. You have been given enough publicity. Please do us a favor. Give interviews or talk to the media only if you can make significant contribution to the crisis that the country faces. Wow the media must really be afraid of the righteousness this wonderful lady may bring to politics that they so go after her with lie after lie after lie.
I also noticed very little coverage as a whole when the church she attends was burned by arsonists. Hmm, seems a little slanted. If it had been "some" other political person's church it would have been major headlines!!

Norma, ME   January 9th, 2009 3:10 pm ET

Her face was so funny when she lost. She cried real tears as if Americans would ever vote for such an idiot to be one step away from the presidency. I was so happy when she kept talking because every syllable she uttered sealed her fate. Every syllable put her one step away from the oval office. Thank God for sensible Americans. We really won the day.

She's not ready for Washington, and not ready for prime time, if you ask me. She'll never be ready as long as we value intelligent, competent leaders.

Thanks but no thanks Sarah, now go away.

And just for the heck of it, I'm so glad we don't have a plastic first lady like Cindy Lou. Whew....thank goodness she can go back to shopping and racking up $700,000. purchases in one month.

Man, this story completely clouded over the 74th birthday of Elvis . We need to get our priorities in order here in the USA!!! First we should talk about Elvis, then Palin and then the economy!!! Right?? Yesterday it was Palin, Elvis and then the economy....so much dysfunction. We did indeed get our 3rd priority out there though, so I guess we can pat ourselves on the back for that!! Hey it is a start!! The day that we all wake up and don't smell the Palin rose again, might just need to go down as a national day of celebration!!!

I feel ya Palin! You can talk about me, you can scandalize my name, but please don't mess with my children. If you want to bring the fight out of me then mess with inocent children who do not know how to fight for themselves.

Palin is Trig mother, she has every right to say something, forget the party, that is her son. If you do not have a child then you will not understand. Last and final comment, back off of Palin and Caroline Kennedy. They are going to try to mud sling Caroline too.

Palin said Obama cavorts with known terrorists   January 9th, 2009 3:10 pm ET

What a hypocrite! She smears Obama with these mean spirited lies. She said Hillary complaining of biased treatment was not good for women. But do not dare suggest that Trig might be Bristol's baby. How heinous.

DR   January 9th, 2009 3:10 pm ET

I had forgotten about the theory that Trig wasn't her child until she brought it up again, and I read "liberal" newspapers, etc.

I'm inclined to think that these attacks happen more oft in blogosphere, and that's not news in my opinion. The only time my thoughts turn to Palin is when CNN does another Ticker report on her. If anything she is good at her own PR...with a little help from CNN. :)

Susanne   January 9th, 2009 3:09 pm ET

you stupid liberals, you have Obama now and besides not being qualified we don't know where he was born either! He is tallking well and a lot but he has said nothing so far. Even some liberal people in Congress are starting to notice and they are not the sharpest knives in the drawer either.
Sarah Paling was the best of the bunch and the liberals were scared to death. They had to destroy her. What has Obama done?????NOTHING! Sarah is way ahead of him.

S@ndr@, Oregon   January 9th, 2009 3:09 pm ET

I guess this proves Sarah Believes any publicity is good publicity. This nut is news everytime trash spews out of her mouth, whether it be calling President Obama a terrorist to trashing Katie Couric for asking her very basic questions; she's a nut job and if the republican party wants her to be their candidate in 2012, go for it, the next generation of voters will be just as aware of her stupidity as this last generation and her scary "base" will continue to get weaker.

DIZIZI31   January 9th, 2009 3:08 pm ET

And lastly, why did Sarah agree to be on SNL. Why was she chair dancing when the "hip hop" moose song was being sung? Raising her hands in the air.

The only reason she's speaking out now is because she realizes how dumb it make her look. TV only mirrors reality.

EVERYMAN   January 9th, 2009 3:08 pm ET

Sarah Palin is right. The media unfairly went after her family on issues that were not germain to the election. No one in the media was hot on the trail of Michele Obama after she was pulled from her husband's campaign when she made her infamous "For the first time in my life, I'm proud to be American" remark.

TruthWillSetYouFree37   January 9th, 2009 3:08 pm ET

Will she ever stop WHINING???? Keep it up – good job – way to have America think you are right for the job! And how paranoid can she be to think Katie was trying to trick her or ridicule her for living in Alaska when asking her about the reading material!!! It was a VALID question. Blame everyone but yourself for your choices. Grow up, please. Politics – can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Mike in Portland   January 9th, 2009 3:07 pm ET

Was this Trig story ever REALLY a story that anyone with half of a brain would believe? I hate how a ridiculous story like this is mentioned by one media outlet or another, and then we get "All media are biased!!" mantra. To pick one story here and another there and then generalize to an entire industry is ridiculous. This Trig story has no more credibility than the "Obama was not born in the U.S." tripe.

In another note, what 'media' is she even talking about? Perhaps she (and other conservatives) means "All media is bad! ...well, except those that like me. Thank God for Fox News. They're fair and balanced. How do we know? They tell you so in their catchy slogan!"

Puh-leaze....

I feel Sarah Palin has a perfect right to say what she says now –ever hear of Free Speech? - especially when she had the good sense not to do so while campaigning, as it would've reflected poorly on her running mate.

Aren't the respondents taking advantage of "free speech" now, to say what they write here? Same thing!

To quote her "As a public official, I expect criticism........but the personal .....nature of recent reporting ....discredits .....journalism today" is hypocritical because she brought her family and personal life into her campaign more than any vice-presidential (or presidential) candidate ever. Remember, "the difference between a pit bull and hockey mom....." etc. She literally ran her campaign on her "personal" values and experiences and conveniently avoided federal issues because she was ignorant on those topics. Remember, she had experience in foreign affairs because she "could see Russia" from her house. She really should have kept her family out of it all, she asked for this coverage.

What do real public servants and politicians do during a time of dire economic crisis? They get to work.

What do self-absorbed pretenders do? They remain blissfully ignorant to the national zeitgeist, and insert themselves into the same media outlets they so dispise so as to complain about how unfairly they are being treated.

At the end of the day, it seems that these statements are simply acts of desperation by a person who regrets totally mucking up her chance at moving into the national scene.

I wouldn't put it past Palin to issue another woe-is-me press release on Inauguration Day.

She can complain all she wants about Tina Fey, it's not like if she didn't contribute to those ratings b/c she appeared for SNL.... Katie Couric, had to ask questions about what most American's were wondering if she knew what the heck she was doing. I think we all got our answer even before she made that interview. She continues to YAP her mouth and still doesn't seem to go away. And continues to wonder why the media is so tough on her..... IDIOT!

B in Texas   January 9th, 2009 3:02 pm ET

A question: I thought that the conservative mantra was "personal responsibility." She should quit whining . . . it makes her look weak and silly.

This woman has CREATED her own mess with her scandalous behavior in Alaska and her disastrous interviews with Gibson and Couric. I didn't NEED the media or SNL to show me that she was woefully incompetent and uninformed. All I had to do is listen to her. Fey, for the most part, simply used Palin's OWN WORDS in her parodies . . . nothing else was required.

As for the Trig thing . . . those rumors came from Alaska and were floating about for months before anybody in the "lower 48" knew who this person was . . . I don't recall anybody in the MSM really paying much attention to them. Palin is the one who kept trotting her pregnant daughter across the stage.

Chuck   January 9th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

If Sarah cannot stand the heat, she should stay out of the kitchen. It is time for her to get back under the porch and quit barking.

Finn   January 9th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

If Sarah did get a dictionary, she should look up the definition of salacious because I don't recall anyone in the media making comments about her or her family that "aroused sexual desire or imagination." In fact, just the opposite; ignorance is not sexy.

Concerned citizen   January 9th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

Haven't we had enough of this Alaskan bag.Come on now?Who in the hell cares what she thinks, says or does. She was just a senile whim of John McCains suicidal strategies that put him way out in left field. She was the straw that broke the camels back for McCain and the republican party.
We have so many issues with our countries fate today and she is given air time?DAH!
Some governor she is.She is more concerned about her so called political future that she puts it above her children, grandchild and the people of Alaska. She needs to clean up her own laundry let alone the countries.
As for the morons that support her...well I guess it takes all kinds!

Kathy   January 9th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

All you anti-Palin people are clueless people. Please go to fox news to get some intelligence. Main stream media has you stupidfied. Palin has achieved way more than your Obama man. By the way Obama is now realizing what Bush/republicians have been trying to tell him, since he now it getting the daily briefing. I believe he really has CHANGED, to the right that is

Evelyn   January 9th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

Mrs. Palin< you voiced a lot of untrue, unkind, offensive things at then Senator Obama during the campaign. Your own words are what caused me and others to see that you are not qualifed to be Vice President, possibly President of this country. What separates you from Caroline Kennedy and President-elect Obama is your lack of knowledge. Instead of criticizing the media, do an honest evaluation of yourself and get back in school and learn more about history, geography and, above all, the constitution. The more you can learn, the better. Public speaking would help you, too. Maybe then, you will be ready in 2012 or 2016. Maybe.

JSib   January 9th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

Unfortunately that fact is that the media in this county is the worst in the free world and is the main catalyst in the demise of this country.

Tim   January 9th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

Bubba,

Your exactly part of what she is talking about. It's not odds are that she is the mother. She is the mother period.

Go back to your paparazzi style over subtance life.

quig   January 9th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

I find it interesting how many comments run parallel to what has been, and is now, being said in some of the media. I think it gives an indication how much the public opinion is formed by what they hear in the media. I guess if people get their news only from networks that promote their views, they will have a narrow view of the world.

I wish more people would listen to many different points of view and then make an educated decision about what's going on in the world. But that would require some effort, and it's apparent that many who comment in this blog are not willing to make that kind of effort. Sad. :-(

Adam Artis   January 9th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

Wouldn't it be interesting if 'media" just stopped reporting any and everytthing concerning the Trailer Park Queen. She'd be forced to either come up with her own money to pay for this garbage,or float a loan from Rush Limberger. If Caribou Barbie wants to be a viable candidate in 2012,she should shut up,govern Alaska,(can't be that hard if she's doing it",and engage in activities, that demonstrate that she has some brain function,no matter how feeble.Democrats already know her for who she is,an yet the silly bimbo continues to make it all too evident to Republicans and Independents just how insipid she truly is.

Robbie   January 9th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

Is the really mean coming out in Palin now that she knows she is NOT going to be Vice President. It seems that what was okay during the election is no longer okay. Listen, Sarah, public life is what it is – you HAVE to take the good with the bad OR stay outta public life. AND during the election, she wasn't so upset with Tina Fey as she appears to be now. Hummmmmm! I wonder why she didn't display this mean side while the election was ongoing – could there have been some deception there??? In a Republican?? Makes me glad all over once again the I voted for Obama and glad I'm not a two-faced Republican like Sarah.

Perusing-Through   January 9th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

WHY CAN'T SARAH ACKNOWLEDGE HER OWN SHORTCOMINGS? ? ?

When you make salaciously false and divisive statements as did Sarah Palin, how can you possibly expect "sweet warm fuzzy" compliments to return?

CASE #2: During Sarah's campaign she often stated that the region (and/or state) she was campaigning in at that time was more "real America" and "more patriotic". WOW!!! That was a slap in the face of every Blue state in the Union that has fallen sons and daughters in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Every so-called Blue state in the Union has sacrificed more blood in the fight against terrorism than Gov. Palin's own "real America" state of Alaska. Sarah Palin is a big mouth, hypocritical diva with a nasty attitude.

Bochicaed   January 9th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

Sarah Palin is disgusting, she believes her own hype. I dont care if Trig is her kid, Bristols or Joe the Plumbers. Shes a lousy mother that chose her career over her kids well being. She is not very bright and I was scared to death she would be VP .

dennis_k   January 9th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

WAAA! I didn't win! WAAAA! It's everbody else's fault! WAAA! When I dragged my family out in public, I didn't mean you could say anything about them! WAAA! WAAA!

John in NY   January 9th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

Sarah Palin is amazing. She has no problem trying to make Barack Obama look like the bogeyman, but cannot handle the karmic retribution. I am personally looking forward to 2012, then perhaps we can put a lid on this thing once and for all.

Bill Charlotte,NC   January 9th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

Palin loves this. Anything to keep her name in the lights and the media keeps obliging.
It is best to let it go. It is not a fair contest to get in a pissing contest with a skunk.

HENRY   January 9th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

She wants to "call out" everyone she dislikes, but whines about scrutiny by the press. You think Bush and Obama have been spared by the press? That is public life. If you can't take it, get out.

Michael   January 9th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

If Palin would just answer questions clearly and divulge her medical records (as Obama did) then the issues would be mitigated.
She and her administration are only fueling the fire.
Advice to Palin – be forthcoming and then shut up and continue screwing up Alaska!

frank   January 9th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

Message to Last Honest Man.

No, the news media did not make Palin lose the election

The majority of people saw her as someone who was just plain stupid.

She not only didn't know about national and international issues, she did not have the intelligence to understand them.

She is the poster girl for arrogant stupidity.

Bochicaed   January 9th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

Donna we are not hateful. Palin is hateful. She doesnt go away, we dont want her , we dont need her, she is govenor of a state, why doesnt she go do her job. ?

Louis in Los Angeles   January 9th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

If she was an elitist she could enjoy some cheese with that whine.

Nobody loves a sore loser or sour grapes.

Nia Hussein- Phoenix, AZ   January 9th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

EPIC Phalin

Linda in MS   January 9th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

More polar bear poop. Even a "brainwashed liberal idiot " recognizes poop when they see it. Too bad the Palinistas cannot. Trig is however, an adorable little boy.

Gil   January 9th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

ATTENTION CNN–

WE NO LONGER CARE ABOUT THIS WOMAN. PLEASE STOP REPORTING ON HER. SHE DOESN'T MATTER TO ANYONE BUT ALASKANS NOW.

Anon!   January 9th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

The 'pals around with terrorists' slime coming home to roost, wouldn't you say ? This is exactly how she insidiously tried to smear Barack Obama during the campaign. What goes a round, comes around.

Vicki5   January 9th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

How does it feel Palin. You kept repeating mean lies and inciting hate and anger in people, so you don't get to complain now.

Mike in Philly   January 9th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

Well, I'll grant her that the story about Trig not being hers was out of line. But as for the rest, she played and pandered on emotions and misconceptions, and being salacious, just as much as the media she accuses.

Pot. Kettle.

Karen   January 9th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

Palin is absolutely correct about the media. It disgusts me to see so much coverage given to the non-issues and not enough coverage of how much she has accomplished in her state. Sarah is a wonderful example for all of our young women. Props to Mr Palin for being so supportive and enabling her to succeed!

JT   January 9th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

The whole point about being a public official is to know how to take public criticism. How can we trust her in the white house to be mentally strong when she crying about the media attacking her. Grow up Palin for once in your life.

RoyalsGal   January 9th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

Actually Bubba – the Downs rate is the same for very young mothers (teenagers) as it is for older mothers......

ldk   January 9th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

@marc – read the US Constitution and learn what the qualifications for Senator are. You dont have to be college educated or have experienece. If I were Kennedy and I was denied the seat based on qualifications I would sue for violation of Constitutional rights.

Anonymous   January 9th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

'I can see Russia from my house, 'it certainly adds to my foreign policy experience', these are you own words. No matter whether you take it out of a context or put it in a context, the meaning is still the same.

If you know Trig is your son, you are more than welcome to prove it by providing a birth certificate of his. People will not bother abt it once you do that.

Kennedy is not scrutinized, because she hasn't said anything dumb so far, like you did.

For once, stop being a politician and be a human being.......

WGT   January 9th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

Is this the same Sarah Palin that accused Hillary Clinton of whining during the campaign? Sounds like she is whining now. What a difference a day makes! Concerning Affirmative Action, Shaggy, John McCain is the biggest recipient of Affirmative Action that ran for office. How did he qualify for the Naval Academy? How did he remain in the Naval Academy with such a dismal record? How did he get to run for Congress? Check you facts.

Dan Chapman   January 9th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

Right you are, Sarah Palin– it's not that you are ignorant and unprepared for national leadership and take cheap shots, all of your problems are the fault of the Evil Liberal Media. If you did more to control and restrict and micromanage them and everyone around you, would it give you the wisdom and understanding to lead this country?

AlexNYC   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

I think we should all move on. Palin lacks the basic intellect needed to be in public office and the media knows that. Oh well, they had no choice but to expose her for the fraud she represents.

Stuart C. Hellinger   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

Good grief! Palin and her staff have proved that they live in an alternate reality. Here's a suggestion – grow up! These childlike tantrums indicate the unreadyness for higher office.

D.Tin   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

Sarah Palin, if you would just SHUT UP, then no "media" would "take you out of context". As if you have much to take into context in the first place. Just stop trying to hog the limelight by giving 'interviews' and releasing statements.

shaddupsarah   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

Hmm...salacious...how ever would she know about that sort of stuff? Oh, I know...IT'S BECAUSE THAT'S HER M.O.!
She needs to start paying less attention to the media and more attention to the son she purportedly has.

Texan for Progression   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

To Dissapointed: Don't be the pot calling the kettle. Do you know the difference between "your" and "you're"?

"Sarah's Falin' "revealed her true colors during the general election. The only idiots who couldn't read the writing on the wall were those who plastered "W04" stickers on their cars in '03/'04. Not even the adverse results of that ill decision opened their eyes to Falin'. They simply can't be helped. However, the majority of us know what Sarah is about so we shouldn't expect her to behave any differently. Her latest, illogical rants are completely in character. Are you surprised when you hear a Pit Bull bark? NO, so neither should you be surprised when you hear a pig squeal.

Bernie Madoff   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

Sarha I love you! Please call me at 1-800-WAWA!

Norris   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

The people told Dr. Frankenstein, "You made the monster, now you kill it". Sometimes we make our own monster. Palin is a monster (metaphoricallly) created by John McCain and/or the Republican Party. I say let them kill her. Let them be the ones to sit her down and tell her to shut up. It's not the media's fault that she keeps jumping into a camera and spewing out all her ignorance. She should have the good sense to know that the election is over and done. You notice John McCain haven't been up the media's face since he lost. She can simply do the same.

Pat Allen   January 9th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

Does anyone know if there is a "Biggest Hypocrite" award anywhere? This cheap whining from the woman who almost laughed while she made the statement "pals around with terrorists" along with condoning racist and threatening comments with her silence has the stupidity to complain? Even her whining about her interviews is childish. If she was dumb enough to put herself out there with limited knowledge and skills then it is her own fault as much as anyone else's. She had no problem slinging around false accusations when she was trying to get elected and now she is going to stand in judgement of the Amercian people? Stay in Alaska Palin and such it up.

skeptic1   January 9th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

Ha! "...and often the refusal of the media to correct obvious mistakes..."

This from the same person who kept up that Obama was a socialist, communist, Ayers was a close friend and adviser, and so on?

God made Sarah Palin...... a complete JOKE! Keep her in the news as a constant reminder of what idiots make up and support the conservative right.

Lori   January 9th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

Shaggy: You are obviously severely lacking in intelligence. Why you would want to broadcast your ignorance for everyone on this thread to read is beyond my understanding.

bobby   January 9th, 2009 2:52 pm ET

I had already forgotten about this crazy lady...

Annie, Atlanta   January 9th, 2009 2:52 pm ET

Typical Republican response, blame the "liberal media." The media hasn't been liberal for years, where's she been. Sarah Palin has no business as a public servant as the entire of her being is all about self-service, and frankly we've had enough of that.

Paul   January 9th, 2009 2:52 pm ET

I am sick of this woman

She should have been perpard for those interviews, she also should have tried to devide the country with hate.

NARD   January 9th, 2009 2:51 pm ET

Your 15 minutes of fame are UP!! For all the money you claim to have saved your region – you are wasting it all by not doing what you are paid to do – which is go to work for the people who hired you. Put your long johns back on and take your behind back to work in Alaska.

Demand a DNA test for Trig   January 9th, 2009 2:51 pm ET

Sarah, If Trig is yours, why could you not produce a DNA test or hospital records? I think Palling around with a dropout and his meth dealing mom is fair criticism.

JS   January 9th, 2009 2:51 pm ET

Now, Now, Now, just how many of you had the guts to run for vice president. And just how smart are you, that write these comments. Yes, it is your right freedom of speech. You are no better than the media. At least she gave it a try, what are you doing to help the country. Obama is in, give him the your support. No, I didn't vote for him, but he is now going to be the "President of the United States", he will need all of our support. Wouldn't live anywhere else.

Gene   January 9th, 2009 2:51 pm ET

She's STILL talking? :)

This is all I can say anymore on any post concerning Sarah Palin. She just can't let go of the spotlight.

Elizabeth   January 9th, 2009 2:51 pm ET

The thought that this woman could have been a heartbeat away from the presidency (the beat of a 70+ year old heart in a 3 times cancer survivor, no less) continues to be one of the most shocking, terrifying things imaginable. I had always liked, and admired, John McCain and am pleased to see him returning "to himself" apparently (as he did with his concession speech) ............. but I don't know that I can ever forgive him for the danger he tried to put this country in when he selected her to be his VP candidate. (Perhaps he's having trouble forgiving himself - he had met her only one time, after all.) - If she were at all aware of her serious limitations (intelligence, basic logic, experience, communication skills, integrity), she would have politely declined. That she didn't – and doesn't – have the faintest notion makes the dange we would all have faced that much greater. What a small-minded, small soul individual.

Denise Bolin   January 9th, 2009 2:50 pm ET

You can smear Obama, never retract the lies and hold back information (troopergate testimony-why?) and (health records-why?)You gave hysterically softball interviews to Faux News, but refused any REAL interviews with REAL questions that a VP should know!

Even McCain now admits you're unqualified – there are so much better choices – Bobby Jindahl for instance. Candidates that wouldn't be afraid the speak without a script full of hate.

Again, I'm with the group that says "bring it on in 2012" – that will insure the democrats can finish the clean-up of Bush's mess.

Mary   January 9th, 2009 2:50 pm ET

It's Barack Obama's fault. It's the McCain camps fault. It's the elite media's fault. It's Katie Couric's fault. It's Charlie Gibson's fault. It's the GOP's fault. It's Tina Fey's fault. It's the Democrat's fault. It's the blogger's fault. Her son is shipped off to Iraq, to quell his drug issues, her oldest daughter is an out of wedlock baby mama that still doesn't have her high school diploma, or prospects for the future to date. Her other children are trying to play catch up with school, because their mother's needs come above all else. Take a look at your life and that of your children Sarah Palin, because it's all YOUR FAULT!

Terry in NYC   January 9th, 2009 2:50 pm ET

The funny thing is how angry and depressed so many of you libs still sound even after your boy Barack has won the election–thanks to the obfuscation of his record by Catie Couric (don't you just love her), CNN, the NYTs, etc. But we all know Barack is farther to the left than any President since Jimi Carter and he's likely to be a one-termer like Carter. I can just imagine how angry and depressed you all will be when President Palin takes over in 2012!!. Perhaps I should start investing in pharma stocks now because you nasty cranks are going to have to triple your doses of mood altering drugs.

Osiris   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

Who cares?

Kathy   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

I find it interesting that Palin, of all people, is complaining about the accuracy of facts regarding the media. Is she aware that the American people elected a 'terrorist' into our highest office?

Please spare me...

Elaine   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

I'd love for anyone of you to have totally made up crap about you and your children spread across the international news. I don't care if it's a republican or democrat, she has every reason to be angry/hurt.

James   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

get over yourself palin... no one cares anymore. If you have any dignity whatsoever please just go away. if you didn't give the media a reason to talk about you they wouldn't.

Kenn   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

The media is trying to let her go away but she is still trying to keep herself in the public view. Please Sarah just go away! You are completely out of your league and the Republican party should be ashamed of trying to get McCain and you elected. You continually display your lack of intelligence and political awareness on just about every important avenue.

Carramea   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

Shaggy what a bigot. Obama may have gotten into Harvard due to affirmative action but you dont make president of the Harvard Law Revue because your are dumb. You dont become a professor at U of Chicago because your dumb. Face it Palin was elected govenor of a state that is full of a strange group of people . They liked her in a skirt

Rick   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

Oh! – Your still here?

master k   January 9th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

who freaking cares what you have to say about the media? you weren't painted in any color but your own. you didn't have the answers to simple questions, you weren't ready, you weren't qualified. how much more do you need to know. trying to salvage your image this early in a defeat is just sad. you could have stayed away from the cameras and played everything down until 2012 and maybe ran for President but now your just adding fuel to your own fire and bringing up stuff most of the general public has moved on from. take some advice and quit talking while you have the chance.

Beverly, NYC   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

My my Miss Sarah thou does protest too much. If the MSM is as evil as you say why continue speaking to anyone with a microphone? Wouldn't your time be better spent insuring that Willow and Piper value their education and have enough self esteem not to have unprotected sex with the first hockey player who winks at them? As someone with a 6 years to achieve Journalism Degree the inner working of the media should not be this much of a shock! Also, it's not too smart to bad mouth the very institution you will need in 4 yrs should you decide to try again. Once Alan Colmes leaves
Mr. Hannity's low ratings may have him off the air and bartending again before 2012.

rod gonzalez   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

Ms. Palin is wasting precious time. If she wants to come back and run in four years she needs to go to school and get an education – fast! She has a lot of ground to cover!
But, if she wants to continue her bizarre spectacle (which happens every time she opens her mouth) it's OK with me. It will only make the other candidates more appealing, and perhaps sink her chances for good. I honestly think the lady has an emotional problem of some kind that will not allow her to shut up and let time erase the memories we all have of her cluelessness.
A Reagan Republican

justin   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

Since she never released her medical records like the other candidates, the rumor (or truth) will keep hanging on.

sigh   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

The Queen of spreading (and trying to capitalize) on false rumors and disgusting accusations said what?

I can understand if she is suppressing any memories of her own behavior during her short stint for the highest office in the country.. the world.. (i would too if I was in her shoes!) .. but I hope the rest of this country doesn't.

Enough of this woman (who brought her whole entire family and its stories on the stage all by her self (and i keeping it there)!

Jeebus   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

"Hooray Sarah!!!!!!!! Go get 'em girl!! You have much to offer the US, much to offer women in particular. I am in full agreement with you and support you 100%….as do thousands of Americans."

Best. Comment. EVAR.

No. Wait.

Nevermind.

T MF B   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

Maybe its not the media that's out to get her but her own propensity for saying stupid things (or nothing at all) while aspiring to the second highest office in the land. Or maybe it was her saracastic and biting convention speech when, it turned out, she had no room to criticize given her less than polished intellect. And in all honesty, the accent, the wardrobe issues, the troopergate story and spotty college eduction did not help. She came across as a hick mom that was barely qualified to be PTA president much less vice-president of the US. And even though I think she is terrible, I am praying that she runs in 2012. That kind of entertainment is worth the prospect of continuing Bush's ruination of our country.

John Anthony   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

SHUT UP, PALIN, YOU SELF-CENTERED CRYBABY! THE MORE YOU SEEK THE LIMELIGHT, THE DUMBER YOU LOOK. WE ARE SICK TO DEATH OF YOU!!!

mama   January 9th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

I didn't know that Sarah knew words like "salacious", "erroneous" and "adversarial".

Boo hoo, Republicans.

Kristin   January 9th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

I find it fascinating and ironic that the liberals accuse conservatives of hate mongering. Just read comments on blogs like this & you'll see the only ones spreading hate are liberals. Probably a bunch of college kids with no job, who have too much time on their hands...so they sit online all day spreading hate. You people are too much. Hopefully you'll all start paying more attention to what really matters – how your government is spending your money (well, those of you that pay taxes anyway). And hopefully journalists return to what they are supposed to do, which is protect the American people by honestly and objectives reporting the facts without the filter of their own bias. If this doesn't happen, we are all in big trouble.

paul (staunch Moderate)   January 9th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

If she wanted/expected her family to be "off limits" she should not have paraded them around the country with her.
She's whining over things she could have easily controlled by being better prepared – or should I simply say Prepared. Did she really think she could enter the political limelight and not be scrutinized? And comments about Caroline Kennedy – well, suffice it to say Kennedy grew up in the limelight, and she's still getting pummeled!
If Palin expects to enter the national policial area she better grow thicker skin and do some major studying.

Adrian   January 9th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

Aren't her 15 minutes up yet? I mean, get real...once a week or so she comes up with something to say about those few months where she was in the public eye, just to get herself back in the public eye.

Susan from S Illinois   January 9th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

Thats a laugh! The media reported her the same way most of the country saw her. Palin is a joke and was fairly reported. If she was a male and said the things she said, the media would have reacted with the same disbelief.

Casey   January 9th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

I can understand why most of us are frustrated with the media, but it really hasn't changed much since the first presedential elections. Review your history. We are just overexposed these days . . .no big deal.

Re: obama-mama January 9th, 2009 12:30 pm ET

I just hope she doesn't end up in a mental institution. She is really not stable. Maybe she should see a shrink to get herself together and clear her conscience….

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I HOPE SHE DOES GET WHITE JACKETED AND PUT IN A PADDED CELL... It would be a lot SAFER for not just Alaska, the USA...THE WHOLE WORLD !!!

If this moron is an example of right wing conservatism then the GOP is sure to become an extinct political faction. The stupidity of Palin and her lack of intelligence on basic matters contribute to my impression that the Alaskan people have no clue how to judge competence. Sara, please go away with your disfunctional family and let the Amercan people enjoy the moment of Barach Obama's impressive victory.

Carramea   January 9th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

The chickens have come to roost honey bunch. You created lies in the minds of people. I dont believe Trig is your party girl daughters child. erhaps if you acted more maternal to your children the rumors would die out. The few people in my office that liked you are being turned off by your incessant whining. If you had given a darn about your kids you would have not accepted the VP nod. If you hadnt paraded Levi on stage with Bristol and not CALLED People magazine to announce the birth of their out of wedlock child the rumors would die down. If you wouldnt go on the State of Alaskas web site and have your daughter say being an unwed mother is not ideal , The rumors would die down.
Now you are insulting Tina Fey and Katie Couric. Why did you go on SNL if offended by the woman?

You have zero integrity. How Mccain picked this nut is beyond me

Alaskim   January 9th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

Ms. Palin,

Therapy may help. Denial of and lack of accountability for your own personal actions and words can be modified. Your son was a juvenile delinguent, your daughter now a teen mom and who knows what is next for your other children. Narcissicsm is not pretty and your display of such behavior is rampant. Can you not stop and look in the mirror?

You were not prepared, are not prepared, to lead this country in any way.

A Constituant.

Stay tuned folks...watch what happens here in Alaska now that the oil dollars are shrinking. We will get to see her govern without the boost of unlimited funds. This will prove to be interesting and hopefully will prove to put Ms. Palin out of office. Permanently, on either the state or national level.

Doug   January 9th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

I agree with Palin, who cares what Katie Couric thinks. I can't believe she's actually still on television. Is Palin perfect? No. But who is? It's sure not Obama, Biden, Oprah, Couric or the super-liberal media kissing their butts. Gov. Palin has my respect for calling it like she sees it and having some morals. I've yet to find any "real" morals in the Democrats or their fans. Our nation is going to hell in a hand basket and the democrats are leading the way.

Dan   January 9th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

The things we do to mug for the spotlight. Just slide into irrelevance gracefully, Sarah. You're moronic, narrow-minded and attention-starved. And now it appears you want to repress the media and their right to free speech. If only you could've been Stalin's bride, you'd have gone somewhere.

DH   January 9th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

This is amazing. Even Sen. McCain doesn't get this much press space since the election. I guess he isn't a media junkie like she is. She seems to crave all attention, even negative press so this hate affair could go on for years folks.

sns   January 9th, 2009 2:45 pm ET

If Palin is so upset about the media reporting on her kids, why did her daughter Bristol sell the pictures of her newborn baby to People Magazine for $300.000 dollars? Is that the new income limit for the "real americans" that she and joe the plumber talk about representing. The noble thing to do is be a great Gov. to the people of Alaska and be an even better parent to all her kids and stop doing these interviews. Get out of the limelight and be the person you claim to be, a soccer mom, a Governor and not a fame seeking diva. You don't see Cindy or John Mccain doing interviews or seeking unnecessary press do you? Palin, let it go please.

Michael   January 9th, 2009 2:45 pm ET

hmmm. I know her. She was the one that repeated the rumors about Obama and his pally terrorist friends. There is a word for this type of behavior.....hypocrite....and I'll throw in 'nut job' for free.

Mary   January 9th, 2009 2:45 pm ET

If Palin continues her ranting and raving over her own stupidity by blaiming it on everyone else, she is sure to dig her own political grave. Ok so Palin, keep it up. She thrives on any form of media attention she can get. Fox news folks lover her...........Speaks volumes!

David   January 9th, 2009 2:45 pm ET

Palin does job that she was elected for. Can that be done? And can it just be published in the local papers an news. And CNN, I thought you had better things to report, real news from around the country and world seem to be way more important than a hockey mom wearing lipsick or was it a pitbull wearing lipstick.

Dex Dean   January 9th, 2009 2:44 pm ET

Forgot to mention, hard to cry foul Sarah when you continue to call Barrack a Muslim, not that it should make any difference.

crackerjack   January 9th, 2009 2:44 pm ET

Seems to be a whole lot of jealousy on these blogs concerning Sarah . She is a beautiful woman with a beautiful family. Not perfect but hey, I can just sense that some of you bloggers are a looooong way from perfect. How can you (and you know who you are) call other people idiots ,stupid etc when you should just listen to yourselves whinning!!! Some of you can't think for yourselves –or so it seems– so you just copy some of the same things into your blogs that your "pals " have just posted. And Potty mouths need to be cleaned up!!!!

JAMES   January 9th, 2009 2:43 pm ET

This Alaska hillbilly's 15 minutes were up weeks ago . . . GO AWAY! And how would she know about the news media's coverage anyway, as I recall she couldn't name a news magazine or paper that she read when she was interviewed. Maybe she's waiting for the picture book version of herself to be released.

Dex Dean   January 9th, 2009 2:43 pm ET

This idiot continues to put her heel in her mouth. People are so in tuned to her comments as they are so unbelievable. Now she is slamming the Kennedy clan. It unbelievable that this woman is actually a governor of a state. That is real scary! Please go away Sarah, like to Russia since they are so close.

Jim in Michigan   January 9th, 2009 2:43 pm ET

The McCain campaign exploited Sarah Palin. They picked her because she is an attractive female and a governor. Does anyone believe that she'd have been picked if Obama had chosen Clinton for VP? Not a chance.

JC   January 9th, 2009 2:43 pm ET

I love it when people write to say that everyone else is wrong or mean or stupid for saying anything negative. Such as Donna who wrote to say everyone here is a sicko for ripping apart Palin. LOL, those people are commenting on a public person who puts herself and her family in the lime-light on purpose, Donna. You, however, called almost everyone commenting on this blog a "Sicko". Ever hear of the kettle? So, your negative opinion matters about people you don't even know, while their negative opinion about a well-known public figure is sick? Wow, just wow. Go back to listening to Hannity. I'm sure when you agree with someone you don't think their negative remarks make them a sicko, just a concerned American.

Baal   January 9th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

Trigs birthday as stated by Palin is a matter of public record....

However, check out the on-line records of the hospital in Alaska where Trig was supposedly born...

There are NO records of any baby named Trig being born on that day...

Of course the MSM would NEVER stoop so low as to actually do INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM.

Illinidiva   January 9th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

Ugh... It is one thing to attack someone on their qualifications; it is quite another to drag their children into it. Palin has every right to go after the ADN, The Atlantic, Daily Kos, etc. on this topic. In fact, if she or Todd want to give Kos or Andi Sullivan a good beatdown, I'll be there cheering them on. Any woman who isn't a mama bear when it comes to her children isn't worth her salt.

As for Trig trutherism, the conspiracy is about as plausible as those involving WTC 7. In fact, most people who believe the Trig rumors probably are also 9/11 truthers. Women in their 40s are at risk to give birth to Down Syndrome babies; girls in their teens are not. The fact that prominent bloggers and newspapers would want to risk their credibility on this fantasy is beyond me. And Sarah shouldn't have to prove that Trig's her child, just like Obama shouldn't have to prove he's a natural born citizen.

Concerned in San Diego   January 9th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

She should have realized that she and her family were going to be in the national spotlight. And she should have realized that she was not qualified to be a couple of heartbeats away from the Presidency.
Her hugh ego got her and her family in the mess they are in.

Future POTUS   January 9th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

Maybe Sarah is going to run for CEO of CNN. Watch out "Best Political Team On Television." The Palinator is coming for you.

Kagzz   January 9th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

At this rate...Ms. Palin will need a BAILOUT from the PRESS...LOL !! How much would it be worth...my guess....lotsa lipstick and bacon.

Norm   January 9th, 2009 2:41 pm ET

To CNN: Why is Palin still in the news?

Kristine   January 9th, 2009 2:40 pm ET

hahahaha poor palin.

Suzi   January 9th, 2009 2:40 pm ET

Yawn. Sarah who?

gl, Pittsburgh   January 9th, 2009 2:40 pm ET

Just think our lucky stars, McCain lose.

Nan Tuure   January 9th, 2009 2:40 pm ET

Enough of Sarah it is just her way of staying in the spot light don't
give her that we need to put her behind us and move on.

Sheryl   January 9th, 2009 2:40 pm ET

On another Post

Someone said, Joe....... Joe are you out there Joe !! Now that was too too funny

Alastair   January 9th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

Imagine if CNN really was a liberal media outlet..... if they were, they would have stopped giving her a soap box long ago and just moved on to more important news. If you do not want to hear what she says, simply do not click on the story. Eventually CNN will realize that people are no longer interested in her.

tracie mcpherson   January 9th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

Please Gov. Palin, just sit and be quiet. You're the one who wanted to be Vice-president,not knowing what all was involved with the job. You decided to be in the "spotlight", you put your family in the "spotlight" also and you complain about being exploited. You need to look up the word exploited and see who exploited whom. Please for your sake, just be quiet and be the Governor of Alaska.

From sunny Fla   January 9th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

Does anyone know who is paying for her PR campaign? Judging from the orchestrated, ridiculous media blitz she is on, it must be costing someone a pretty penny. Are we going to keep seeing this nonsense for the next 4 years?

Midge from Ohio   January 9th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

It is like the Salem witch hunts, which were also based on heresy and false reporting, only Palin is not a witch. The media should be ashamed of itself! I have NO respect for anyone in the media except George Stefanopoulus. He is the ONLY ONE who never seems opinionated or biased.

Allison - Baltimore   January 9th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

She LOVED the media her first few months in the spotlight, didn’t she?! But once they got past the ‘glam’ and started to see the ‘true’ Palin, it was harshly obvious she was unable to articulately communicate her beliefs and ideas – if she could form them, for that matter. If it was not a spoon-fed, rehearsed and easily regurgitated answer, forget it! Questions as simple as what type of newspapers do you read, stumbled her. That’s NOT the media’s (Couric’s) fault. That’s just simple lack of brainpower!

MOVE ON! I'm sick of hearing about her and/or from her. Old news! I just hope Alaskans are smarter in the next election!!

Pharakook   January 9th, 2009 2:37 pm ET

Simple Sarah's starting to sound a lot like Richard Nixon..........

Dan   January 9th, 2009 2:37 pm ET

Would someone shut this whiner up! First of all the fact she is trashing Katie Couric because she herself didn't know the easy answers to simple questions is rediculous! When will the republicans stop trying to blame the media everytime thier candidate loses? Sing a new song people that one is old and worn out. She is trying to save her image, which she ruined through her own dumb answers to politically based questions. If the republicans are touting this hate mongering moran as thier next big thing they are in deep deep trouble. This was a woman running for the republican VP spot that didn't even know what the Bush Doctrine was...i mean come on people!

THE OLD TIMER   January 9th, 2009 2:37 pm ET

How right she is about the reporting on the election and even after ward the election is over THE MEDIA CAN STOP REPORTING ABOUT THE PALIN FAMILY AND SON-IN-LAW TO BE

Greed is not good   January 9th, 2009 2:36 pm ET

she's not qualified enough to use fancy words yet alone critique the media

(Former) Lifelong Republican for Obama, Columbia, TN   January 9th, 2009 2:36 pm ET

Sarah Palin only appeals to the right-wing nuts that supported her. Middle-of-the-road sensible Americans can see right through this vacant individual.

pat C.   January 9th, 2009 2:36 pm ET

THIS IS THE MOST IGNORANT WOMAN I HAVE EVER HEARD! WHY CAN'T SHE TAKE A HINT AND STAY OUT OF OUR LIVES???
JOHN MCCAIN SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF UNLEASHING THIS IDIOT ONTO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. SHE IS A DISGRACE TO WOMANHOOD. SHE IS NOTHING BUT TRAILOR TRASH AND LIPSTICK.

Who Cares   January 9th, 2009 2:36 pm ET

I applaud the media for keeping the spotlight on SP. With any luck, she will be the Repub. nominee in '12. I plan to contribute to her primary campaign.

Repubs will see this as a wise choice.

So will Dems, but for an entirely different reason.

carol   January 9th, 2009 2:35 pm ET

Last Honest Man: How can you dispute what came out of Sarah Palin's mouth? The media did not do that, she SAID it. They just reported all of her stupid remarks and vicious campaigning.

Marc P. Blumberg   January 9th, 2009 2:35 pm ET

Hi,I'm Sarah,and it's all about ME!!!!
Is it just me or is this mindless, ignorant ,uninformed fool just needing to be the center of attention. Can you say narcissistic and shameless self-promoter. She is exhausting. Go home and shut the hell up. Better yet teach Bristol about birth control. Have a nice day.

Robbin   January 9th, 2009 2:35 pm ET

Sooo uhhh is Trig hers or not? lol

jclem   January 9th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

I'm laughing at all of you here who are ripping on Sarah Palin right now. You're living proof that what she has said is true. I would bet my right eye that NOT ONE OF YOU knows one single thing about Alaska politics and what she and her administration have accomplished in the state. Which, you know, is her job and it's kinda important. You have fall allen prey to the media like a little dogs on a leashes. You call this woman stupid, uneducated, etc., but obviously it's you all who fall into that category. You don't have a mind of your own and can't form your own opinion. Get a life. Go read a book. Find something to do because you're embaressing your country.

Tim   January 9th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

Why are we still talking about Sarah Palin?

shawn   January 9th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

I'm tired of hearing Palin whining!! She needs to go away, far away!

prosarah   January 9th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

If all you Palin haters hate her so much, why do you continue to read stories about her and then take the time to comment? Hmmmm-interesting.

Rahn Hasbargen New Brighton, MN   January 9th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

It seems that whenever a "story" that is posted related to Sarah Palin appears, it generates hundreds of blog postings. Like her or not, she draws more reaction than any single topic out there right now. Contast that to a John McCain or Joe Biden "story", and you can draw your own conclusions......

SD   January 9th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

Will she just go away already? She had her moment to shine and she blew it. Just go back to being governor, worry about the good people of Alaska, and be thankful someone took her seriously enough to nominate her fo VP.

Funmi   January 9th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

She needs to leave the media alone ......not sure how good the media bashing will be for her next Presidential run.....but there i go using logic again ......off course she has not thought about that .

Nija   January 9th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

Very unfortunate how the media can tear you life apart.

Jimmy the C   January 9th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

Is this person still the future of the Republican Party?

frank   January 9th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

To qoute Dan from SNL "Marc you ignorant sl..". Please control your capital letters as they tend to give away your unbridled rage. If you are comparing the "beauty queen" who attended multiple colleges to a published author/ivy league graduate humanitarian I feel that there is no comparison. Perhaps you have been drinking the RNC coolade.

Conrad   January 9th, 2009 2:32 pm ET

My Governor is a vacuous skirt and a political dilettante. I hesitate to use the terms we call her here in Alaska.

Richard   January 9th, 2009 2:32 pm ET

If anyone knows how “to create adversarial situations,” and pursue “erroneous and often outrageous leads on a variety of non-issues.” it is Sarah Palin.

It's great justice that Palin feels this way since that is how she ran her entire lie-filled campaign.

Marilyn   January 9th, 2009 2:32 pm ET

Palin is correct. The media was after both her and Clinton from the beginning. They decided that Obama would be the annointed one and did whatever they could to discredit both of them. For the first time in my life I am NOT proud to be an American.

Clarence (Florida)   January 9th, 2009 2:32 pm ET

I love to hear her talk!! The more she speaks the worse she sounds. This is the woman reps voted for? She did this to her family – she knew she was an idiot when she ran. I do not feel sorry for her – I do feel sorry for her children. It has to be hard when all of American know you mother is not very bright.

Mr Magoo   January 9th, 2009 2:31 pm ET

Sarah in the words of my idol, Judge Judy, "Beauty is temporary, Stupid is forever"

Missy   January 9th, 2009 2:31 pm ET

I would really like to know how John McCain feels about all of this now. He's created a monster! Well, a fuzzy little bunny monster anyway.

CC   January 9th, 2009 2:31 pm ET

Caroline Kennedy may not be any brighter than Sarah Palin, but her handlers sure are. It is hard not to criticize her when she puts her foot in it everytime she opens her mouth.

Perusing-Through   January 9th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

WHAT IS SARAH'S PROBLEM? ? ?

Why can't Sarah Palin see that she creates her own demise?

CASE #1: Sarah's husband Todd was a member of the violent Alaskan Independence Party (AIP) which advocates the cessation of Alaska from the U.S. by any means possible. Sarah has attended AIP meetings, events, and "paled around" with AIP members as late as 2008. But yet Sarah Palin had the audacity falsely accuse PE-Obama of "paling around with terrorist". People at her campaign crowds were threatening physical harm to PE-Obama because of her false statements. Now explain to me how the news media, bloggers, and just plain decent folks can ignore this level of hypocrisy from Sarah Palin.

Christopher in Minnesota   January 9th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

You people do understand that the woman can not speak correctly, right? She is grammatically challenged, speaking in broad, general language. What is a publication? She reads publications, or so she says. It doesn't answer the question she was asked, she simply name dropped news services like the Times and USA.

As far as the biased media. Will you people ever learn that we humans don't know a thing? When you realize that you may find yourselves a bit happier.

Filter through the bias, and personal opinion, and you just might find the real news. It is there, you just have to understand how to look and interpret it. Judging by the illiterate comments of many of you, you A: should not be commenting, don't pay attention, and haven't taken it upon yourself to seek knowledge, and B: should consider turning off the television for a bit and perhaps reading a novel. This will help you articulate your answers.

She will never win an election for the presidency, and thank that fallacious god so many believe in, the media will drag her face through the darkest mud they can find.

Done.

The Edge, Macon, GA   January 9th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

"Why's everybody always picking on me?" Can't take it can she? Dished out mud and slime, encouraged the rabble to speak of violence and fanned the flames of religious and racist hate of our PE at her rallies and now expects to be treated as if it never happened. What a little princess she thinks she is.
Please, please, please select Palin for the Repugnantcant Party Presidential nominee for the next 5-6 elections. She is the poster child of the brain dead, lying and wimpering losing party . She does fit well into her purloined suits, doesn't she?? If there ever was a symbol for entitlement, she is it.

sg   January 9th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

Lets not forget Richardson. He'll be next.

MsCint   January 9th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

Sarah, why are you surprised? You used these same tactics yourself when you were campaigning. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Don't throw stones if you don't want to be stoned yourself.

mary, colorado springs, co   January 9th, 2009 2:30 pm ET

Sarah: Give us all a break and not try to run in 2012. You've got the only political job you are capable of doing (I guess) and you need to quit while you are ahead. The White House is WAY out of your reach. You don't have the experience or education to rule a nation. Stay up north with the people who are willing to put up with you and pay you.

Ken in NC   January 9th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Gov Palin might one day be a national leader but not soon. She used a campaign of fear in an effort to gain votes from the opposition that backfired basically because of three things.

The Gov. was not in the position to verify to her public the charges she raised against then Senator Obama thus raising the appearance of her being disrespectful to a sitting Senator while her partner, John McCain was trying his best to maintain a level of honor and respect. This did not accomplish her goal which should have been to garner votes for the Republicans from the Democratic side.

The second reason her campaign failed is because she has not mastered the use of the English language. Her speech is very rough, unprofessional, and it is delivered always from a negative side. An example of this took place in the Vice Presidential Debate when she made the comment, "SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE". This was a most unprofessional delivery for a person running for the second most powerful position in the country.

The third reason her run for office failed is that she was unprepared for her interviews and to this day she has made little improvement in her mastery and delivery of the English language and she still makes her point always from the negative side rather than a more positive position.

If she works hard to correct these problems in the next couple of years she may be a viable candidate in 2012 but if not then the media, which will be waiting for her, will treat her with less respect in 2012 than she thinks she was given this year.

It's Me   January 9th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

So too and also I would like to say some words. You know, just some words about some stuff and things that people normally say when they say words about stuff, and also that this thing with the words that they said. It's just so unfair so too and also not fair to me as a person or as an individual also. Thanks for your time so too and also your listening in to what I have to say also.

Mark   January 9th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Shaggy,

You're an idiot. I can't believe you said the things you said. Obama is nowhere within a million miles of being in the idiot zone. Obama graduated from Harvard Law magna cum laude and was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. One can't do that except with exceptional talent, intellect, and work ethic. Harvard doesn't operate on affirmative action in its educational practices.

Jams nVa   January 9th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

The more we hear of her the worse she sounds – just go away! Always somebody elses fault, she takes no responsibility for anything, even for Republicants that tactic has lost it's shin. She's turned into a sad joke.

bill thurston   January 9th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

I wonder if the media would report on the thnder thighs of Ma Bell Obama or the daughters. I doubt it, Palin is right on on this one.

Grog in Ohio   January 9th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Another whine about personal attacks from the airhead that said Obama was "palling around with terrorists"? It would be funny if she wasn't so pathetic.

11 days till the end of the Bush administration.

Sonny   January 9th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

I can't believe it! This is the woman that attacked Obama as a TERRORIST?

Palin go away   January 9th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

Ahh the Britney Spears of politics. Very true, if we stop commenting and ignore her, she will vanish.

Howard   January 9th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

I really don't like Gov. Palin, but someone close to her ought to suggest she consider the possibility that some of those salacious things being printed about her are a transparent attempt to yank her chain, and every time she responds as she has this time, she only throws gasoline on the fire.

Ignore them. Be quiet. Get below the radar for a while. Let the media find some other dartboard to aim at, and then you can redefine yourself on YOUR terms. But as long as you continue with this stuff, you let the media define on their terms.

By the way, I really don't think it's personal, Sarah. It's just that these kinds of contratemps get people's attention, and that's what ratings are all about.

Rich   January 9th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

Marc....Marc...Marc....come on. Why are you still so sore bro. Move past it now and don't be so bitter.
Just get better players for your team that is all you have to do. Everyone has a chance of winning – even Georgie "won" and twice at that.

Tom KS   January 9th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

Please stop reporting on her... That should make her happy.

mary the clerk   January 9th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

That pathetic bimbo Sarah certainly had no problems making tasteless and false statements about Barack Obama...now did she? Sarah you are full of you know what sister.

Mary

Pittsburgh Matt   January 9th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

The media wasn't against her. We, the majority of intelligent thinkers in our country, were against her. The media just reflected popular opinion of her. I would say Fox was the one who tried to spin it by trying to make people think she was something different than we all saw and perceived with our own eyes.

Ron Ft. Myers   January 9th, 2009 2:27 pm ET

Obama Mama and Martin, you should get together, you are both functional morons. Martin, I would venture to say, if Palin is an idiot, you would be ranked as what? Obama Mama, get a life. The day any of you can become the governor of any state, then you will almost be her equal.

Free Thinker   January 9th, 2009 2:27 pm ET

She's absolutely right. Some things, such as family, should be sacred. But it will never change American's think everyone's business is their business

WCCH   January 9th, 2009 2:27 pm ET

If Palin doesn't want others to "exploit" her, then she should quit exploiting herself. If she doesn't like the questions she's being asked, then stop giving interviews. If she thinks the media is misinterpreting her remarks, then she should shutup.

Margaret, Minnesota   January 9th, 2009 2:27 pm ET

Why is she still in the news??

George   January 9th, 2009 2:27 pm ET

Keep talking Sarah. The liberals are afraid of you. See you in four.

GOP losers!   January 9th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

The republicans lost in a BIG way, doesn't she get it? Obviously not.

Mary Lou   January 9th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

Please drop coverage of this non-story. She chose her path into politics and needs to deal with the negatives just as she enjoys the positives, like free travel, clothes and the lifestyle of the elite all on someone else's dime. It is called paying the piper.

Go back to Wasilla and whine, Sarah, and try to put on your big girl panties – hopefully, ones that you pay for personally.

cat   January 9th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

Sarah should just leave well enough alone, She was the only one who damaged her own image. At first i was saying HEY Sarah.
until she started ralling the people up at rallies. with hate speech and lies ..I know she heard the people saying kill him and off with his head and calling Barack a terriost....and then in her glee i heard her say YESsss. That's when I said NOooo. Even though she was a attack dog with lipstick, there was no need to move the people in a dangerous frame of mind. I am glad she failed. I hope she keeps on reflecting on he lost until she figures out really where she went wrong. Maybe she will realize that division can be a two way street.

J.   January 9th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

I can't stand Palin but enough is enough. Leave her family alone and for goodness sake quit reporting about her.

Jo-Ann   January 9th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

I can't believe how many haters there are in America. If any of you were attacked the same way that Ms. Palin was you would still be crying also. None of you must have children and therefore do not understand what it is like to have your children attacked. While I don't agree with everything she does and says, I certainly don't agree with any of you bloggers. Unfortunately you are the morons and idiots. Take a good look at yourselves and put yourself in someone elses shoes for a change. I'm sure that none of you will admit that the media handled the Palin's and the Obamas totally different. They handled Obama with kid gloves and I'm sure they will handle Caroline Kennedy the same way. I liked her father, but she is not qualified to be Senator. What are her qualifications? She is about as qualified to be Senator as Obama is to be President.

Jerry American   January 9th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

The media is is the reason for the major divide in this country , it is not for them to dictate puplic opinion. As much as the media bashed Sarah Palin in a clearly biased way , please remember that 48% of Americans did vote for her. I bet if the public knew that BHO was going to sell out to become a Clinton puppet the vote would be different. By the way I wish any one who is president of our great country well but where are Biden , Emanuel and the of the posse hiding? Sarah Palin 2012

M.H.   January 9th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

If ya can't take the heat, get outta the kitchen. You betcha.

Gosh darn, Sarah ... can't you just shut up?

It's over, and I hope it's over for good!

carol   January 9th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

Shaggy: Evidently you have not read anything about Obama's background. He is well-educated and was the president of the Harvard Law Review.
Palin? She got a degree in 5 years in sports journalism and still cannot form a sentence.

Dave G   January 9th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

The president of the U.S. can destroy all life on earth with the push of a button. So it's no surprise that voters want to know more about the personal lives of their presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

If Palin didn't want the press probing her personal life, she never should have run in the first place.

Zepp   January 9th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

Well, if this isn't a case of the proverbial Pot Calling the Kettle Black: The same person who accused Obama of "pallin' around with terrorists" and helped Joe The Wannabe-Plumber get his 15 minutes of infamy, now complains about "...taking her remarks out of context “to create adversarial situations,” and of pursuing “erroneous and often outrageous leads on a variety of non-issues...” Is there any limit to Palin's hypocricy?

grahame   January 9th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a liar pure and simple. She will do and say anything to deflect blame from herself. She blew it. Nobody else did. She gave the same stupid lame brained answers to just ordinary questions that would have been asked of any potential VP candidate. Sarah Palin is also a thief, or did you all forget about those wonderful clothes that were supposed to go back to the Republican Party or to charity.
Sarah Palin also believes in nepotism. If you don't believe this then read the letter she sent with her future son in law to get him a job after which she denied that she had anything to do with. And finally to all those who believe that the great USA would be better with her as President. please read all the comments from the local newspapers in Alaska.that should at least give you a clue just how disliked this woman is in her own state. Sarah Palin is just another Rod Blagodevich. She should also be impeached and quickly before she does any more damage to the Republican Party.
It's because of her and people like her that my party lost so badly.Good riddance to bad rubbish. I've seen Idaho potatoes with more intelligence......

An old saying:
"if you can't take the heat; get out of the kitchen"

It continues to amaze me that she was ever elected to an office greater than PTA.

Jamie   January 9th, 2009 2:24 pm ET

If Palin stories were anything new then that would be one thing, but it seems all we can hear from is reliving the past and this election that we are trying to move forward in its aftermath.

Plus, it is no great medical mystery older mothers are at highest risk of birth defects in this stage of a women's fertility span. Furthermore, maybe the decision to let Levi dropout of high school should have been taken more seriously and all consequences taken into account. Her family is the Roseanne of Alaska and the RNC, that seems to be there base element appeal.

As for Caroline Kennedy, Palin is out off line and I don't care what her opinion is on the matter, THANK GOD it is not her decision.

Denise Bolin   January 9th, 2009 2:24 pm ET

You say the media elected Obama? Then why did they play all the hate rhetoric by the right wing OVER AND OVER?

And if Sarah admits she wasn't up to Katie Couric's interviews, she's admitting how unqualified she was. Those were softball questions, ones most Americans would know the answer to, let alone candidates. I know more about foreign policy than she does.

If the media leaned towards Obama, I applaud them for having sense.

Obama did not get into college with affirmative action, he got in with his brilliance (hence the President of the Law Review and Magna Cum Laude).

I have a question – why do people (some people) WANT to believe and make up hateful things about our new President? Why can't they move on and be patriotic and respectful of the people's choice?

It's much too important a time to be petty and hateful.

mike in portland   January 9th, 2009 2:24 pm ET

Please stop all coverage of Sarah Palin. There is nothing in her life, work, or family worthy of reporting. Please focus instead on the important stories of the day, such as deaths in the Middle East, corruption in our own government, etc. Enough already.

pete at the beach   January 9th, 2009 2:24 pm ET

Poor Poor Sarah–you know IT IS all about HER, wink wink. Shes a professional victim Couric had no business expecting lucid answers. Tina Fey was just plan evil to quote her on SNL, than mean McCain campaign making her get interviewed, that mean thing of expecting her "future" son in law to have the minimum requirements (although she didnt need them). What a mean mean world just think she could be calling Hamas mean or Putin mean or pushing the button against all those mean sexist men who are looking at her– where's my stylist???my clothes?? you mean mean people!!

Sophia in Canada   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

why did she not tell Katie Couric she did not want to answer that question if she felt it was demeaning. She clearly told the moderator at the VP debate that she was not gonna answer all the questions as expected. maybe because she was pre-programmed to say that but nobody gave her the answers to Katies questions.

MJL   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

Shouldn't she be pretty busy helping her daughter adjust to life as a mother???

Jamino   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

I boycott products advertised on articles about Sarah Palin.

Dr Larry   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

Most of the hater comments here clearly indicate the effect of a biased media. So many sheep, so little time.
Oh, and "pal-ing around with terrorists" is a very close description of Obama's early relationship with Ayers and Dohrn. They were "friends" for political expediency if nothing else. This was a political "attack".
Attacks on Palin and her family were 99% personal and many were based on what was said on SNL, not the truth. Some of you here still question the birth mother of Trig Palin and that is not only out of line, it is stupid. Grow up and do your research.

Rachel   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

Well Sarah. The chickens have come home to roost!. All the sharp
tongued comments you made about Obama are coming back to haunt you. Blow your nose and grow up. You jumped out there with your hotsie winking and thinking you were so clever now you find that you are just what you are...nothing more than a big mouth woman. Stay off the radar screen. We don't need you. Caroline Kennedy has the education by the way. What do you know? So you think the media is too soft on her. Don't tell me your mouth is going to start on her now!

Jennifer   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

The woman cannot help but speak in run-on sentences. It is like reading the quotes of a woman speaking a foreign language. How can she have supporters?

Pete Vaguely   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

Just let her keep talking. She will gradually bury herself and distract her party's attention away from meaningful politics. If she keeps this up for a year or two we will finally know the whole truth about her. She's not just some Mavericky down-home politico. She's a lady with deep psychological problems and a screwed up family life. That she could have ever been considered for VP by a major political party is something that will be discussed for generations by political scientists and historians.

If she won't accept help it's sometimes best to just ignore the crazy lady who's muttering to herself in the back of the bus.

Caroline Kennedy   January 9th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

Everybody just keep harping about Sarah Palin. That, you know, will keep people from, uh, you know, seeing how, you know, stupid I am and then, uh, well, you know, maybe I can, like, slip into a senate seat, so just, you know, keep picking on her.

I'm glad that, you know, most of you in here, like, have the same IQ that, uh, you know, I do. I'll, like, see you when, you know, I'm in, uh, the senate.

Bernie   January 9th, 2009 2:22 pm ET

If you don't want people to say things about you, don't open your mouth and say something stupid. Each time you speak, you're just giving the world more ammo.

nerakami   January 9th, 2009 2:22 pm ET

Innocent By-stander   January 9th, 2009 2:22 pm ET

If Pat Robertson was right when he said the 9/11 attacks were god's punishment for America's sinful ways, then I must conclude that Sarah Palin, John McCain, George W. and eight years of an inept and venal administration are god's punishment for so many of our fellow citizens having voted Republican. Let's make amends for that by banishing the GOP - and especially Sarah, who has repeatedly shown herself to be a narcissistic ninny - to many long years in the desert.

WhoCares?   January 9th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

She's crying about bloggers now?

And she thinks she is ready to be VP.

What a clown.

kbzacharias   January 9th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

It appears that Gov. Palin will do anything to keep her name in the news. Nancy Boyda once said "Politics is a contact sport" and Gov. Palin should have known that. Not only that but given that she accepted the nomination knowing that her family would be under great scrutiny and put her own ambitions before her children (somehing she appears to have done her whole political career) – it is somewhat disingenous to know claim she was unfairly treated.

Hopefully someday soon she will just go back to being the Gov. of Alaska and leave the rest of us alone.

Clair   January 9th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

I Love her. Don't ask her to go away. Let's give her some incentive and plenty of audience. We need to keep her in focus and tied her even more to what GOP stands for. Nobody can be allowed to forget this woman. If she fades away, maybe a more eloquent, intelligent and sympathetic conservative figure will start building trust for GOP again, so please people – Sarah is good for business. She is the golden goose for the democrats and liberals. Keep giving Palin! We look to talk about you! We are all ears!

Anita Baker Bruce   January 9th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

I am thrilled that Sarah Palin continues to speak out about all things unfair-- "salacious" comments from the "liberal media", etc. Keep it up, Sarah. At this rate you will have NO audience when 2012 rolls around!

Yoshi99   January 9th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

I love the fact Sarah keeps trying to point at Caroline Kennedy. Sarah is basically saying she can't hold her own with the media, can't offer any original ideas, and can't come up with a compelling argument as to why she looked so bad in the media (all Katie Couric did was ask questions, you know). By pointing at Kennedy, Palin is dodging all that and saying, "Look over there! Look over there!"

Jonathan   January 9th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Nothing this woman says is of any importance or significance.
She's nothing more than yesterdays news in the trash, a bad P.R. trick
played by McCain that blew up in his face.

Can we move on please, finally.

Leah from FL   January 9th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Her comment: “But the personal, salacious nature of recent reporting, and often the refusal of the media to correct obvious mistakes, unfortunately discredits too many in journalism today, making it difficult for many Americans to believe what they see in the media.”
is astonishing. Gee – I remember her doing the EXACT SAME THING up there on the MCShame/Palin campaign stump – trying HERSELF – in vain to connect Obama to Aires, Joe The "Plumber", etc, etc. Oh and such a big grown up word – salacious . yeah, we're so impressed.
Here's one to describe how I feel about you: fallacious

C.T.   January 9th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Two weeks ago this woman told CNN that she regrets not doing more interviews. Now she complains she had, had to do too many. This week the media is unfair... If she would just shutup and do her job as governor, the media won't have to listen. Yes I said have too. Her office is putting oil on the fire by putting these tidbits into to the media. For the few, and I repeat few nut cases defending her. Your not sounding very thoughful. But, I guess "birds of a feather flock together".

CT Indy   January 9th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

HA HA HA ..Someone here said Caroline Schlossberg is going for the senate seat to get experience. The job os Senator is a powerful and important job! So noone needs experience now?

Do we blame Palin for answering or CNN for calling? Maybe if the media stopped calling she wouldn't have a stump!

wendy   January 9th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

wow. those of you whining about Palin...talk about calling the kettle black. get past the tip of your own nose, pull it out of your rhetoric behinds, and start paying attention to your own words. how can anyone take any one of you seriously when you don't take the time to correctly spell and put your thoughts on paper. remember what your mom told you when you were a kid? 'if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all?' it would do the bloggers on this list well to adhere to that note. it does you no good to post hate – how can we respect your comments when they come from such disrespectful people? oh yes – another adage comes to mind – 'don't like it, don't read it'

GP   January 9th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

This woman continually fails to realize the bounds of her hypocrisy.

If complaining is a sign of leadership then she will certainly be in the vanguard of RNC candidates in 2012.

frank   January 9th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

Poor NC Independent. Please understand that McCain plucked her from out of the wilderness and handed her a line of bull.... She obviously has plenty of free time to keep up this banter. It only confirms my belief that there isn't much to do in Alaska but have children.

Stan   January 9th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

It's a good thing that the election is over... the MSM's vultures would have gotten pretty cold going through Palin's garbage this week. However, I am SO GLAD that we found out that her daughter's boyfriend's mom was arrested on drug charges. That's WAY WAY more interesting than any sort of investigation on Blagojevich/Emanuel/Obama and the "Hey, you wanna buy a seat?" vast right wing conspiracy.

Oh, I'm sorry. I was using dated catchphrases uttered during the Clinton administration. Please excuse my error, with all the Clinton retreads stocking the cabinet, you can understand my confusion. I was under the impression that change actually meant change. Good thing that fresh voices at the highest levels of power aren't necessary.

Dave   January 9th, 2009 2:18 pm ET

I agree with Palin. Honestly, this is news? The media is out of control.

John   January 9th, 2009 2:18 pm ET

Shaggy January 9th, 2009 12:26 pm ET

Palin is stupid and you are even dumber. Congrats to you, that is not an easy task!

Brian   January 9th, 2009 2:18 pm ET

Sarah Palin, you were not elected to be the Vice President.

Oh, by the way, you were running for the 2nd most powerful position in the United States - the media has an obligation to investigate YOU.

Yet, you compare yourself to Caroline Kennedy ??

There is no comparison.
Caroline Kennedy is intelligent and you are not.

Why don't you go back to Alaska and do your job ??

You don't want to do your job ??

You should be impeached quickly then.

You, Joe the Plumber and Rod Blagojevich should all share the same cell together.

Beth from Virginia   January 9th, 2009 2:17 pm ET

Frank S   January 9th, 2009 2:17 pm ET

Someone should have mentioned to her that Public Officials have to be, well, Acceptable to the public. What you say and how you say it is a big part of it.

Ry   January 9th, 2009 2:17 pm ET

CNN why do you insist on keeping this woman on the political 'ticker"?

This has nothing to do with politics. Palin is now no better than Paris Hilton or any other idiot, no talent in the entertainment field.

Best to keep her there.

Or even better.... stop reporting about her all together.

Skip - michigan   January 9th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

To all of you "former republicans" posting here. You were NEVER republicans. You are tried and true democrats trying to convince people that you've switched partys. Gimme a freakin break. Most of you have the integrity of your democratic(soon to be thrown out of office) governor BLOWgovich.
I hope you all are relishing your 7 years of sfaety under President Bushs' watch. You surely aren't going to get it with Mr. Obama. He is more concerened with what the rest of the world "thinks" of America. How scary is that. Now go enjoy his billion$ inauguration festivities, you blind fools.

Cherylynn   January 9th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

Wasn't it Sarah Palin who was on TV saying that Hilary Clinton did a disservice to women when she complained about perceived unfair treatment of the media during the primaries? Sarah said something along the lines that women had to be strong....if they were going to be involved in politics, they needed to be able to handle the criticism? Seems she doesn't practice what she preaches.

Barb, Des Plaines   January 9th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

No, Sarah, it's the incompetent politicians that we don't believe.

David   January 9th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

I can’t believe her! What was the press supposed to ask her? Name rank serial number she was running for the 2nd highest job in this country we had a right to know something about her other than lip stick on pit bulls. Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric did this nation a favor by exposing her before this country made another mistake with our leadership.

tony long   January 9th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

sarah compalin that's all she does like she is a victim....she hides behind saying nothing and pitting americans against each other that's what the GOP is until they realize we are all americans

MJ from MD   January 9th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

I don't have an opinion about her one way or the other, but I absolutely agree with her accusations about the media....there is no such thing as objective reporting anymore. If the media likes you, you'll come out smelling like a rose; if they don't like you, you'll be crucified.

Denise Bolin   January 9th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

She was elected mayor iif a tiny backwoods town with none of the responsibilties of a real mayor , simply on her "charm" nothing else. She is not qualified to run a daycare center let alone the country.

Dear Fellow Commentators,

The only way we will be freed from having to read any more of the inane and inconsequential rantings of SP (I can't even bear to type the name) is to stop commenting at all on the articles posted here. It's all old new and it wasn't really news when it was news.

I know I'm breaking my rule here, but I have resisted commenting on many articles in hopes she would go away. She hasn't and that's because she still gets hundreds of responses, so CNN will keep posting. If none of us respond (good or bad) then maybe the whole SP thing will go away once and for all.

Are you with me?!!!!!

Richard   January 9th, 2009 2:14 pm ET

She's so offended by these stories in the mainstream media that she's repeating them in the mainstream media so they create another story . . .

She's not too bright . . .

Although there might be some small relevance to her claims the real issue is her need to maintain her relevance with these infomercial interviews. The GOP has much better rising star's to give some hope to the party (Jindal, Perry, Huntsman, et al).......Sarah is trying to hang on to any last scrap of credibility before she is eclipse'd by real talent.

Bily the Milkman and Nightime Lover from Ohio   January 9th, 2009 2:13 pm ET

Any female gov having a child is a HUGE NEWS YET there was not report, print or tv coverage of your pregnancy. Your daughter got more news that you as a gov. Any other female politician that is going to have a baby, famous or not, will get reel and newspapers story from the local media YET not a single 10 lines story on 'GOV PALIN EXPECTING HER NEXT CHILD." That is why folks dont believe that this baby is yours at all. Not even an announcement from your office or hospital after you had the baby. Not even a short brief of you gong IN-N-OUT of the hospital to have a child?

VERY SIMPLE YOU ARE THE GOV SO SHOWS US THE RECORDS OF YOUR LAST PREGNANCY.
AGAIN RELEASE ALL THE MEDICAL RECORDS OF YOUR PREGNANCY!

Sheryl   January 9th, 2009 2:13 pm ET

Hey Sarah,

It doesn't sit well when people talk "falsehoods" about your person and family does it !! Hopefully in your next campaign (if there is one) you'd best to remember to deal only in FACTS and not fiction.

I don't know you personally but I can tell that if I ever met you I would tell you some FACTS regarding how to treat other fellow human beings. You had no business trashing and enticing HATE like you did during the General Elecion at your rallies just to win an election. You must be so proud to have the HATERS to be your only followers...I personally don't think your a very nice person and What Goes around Comes Around !! Repent and ask for Forgiveness, you know what you did was wrong but you repeatedly kept on doing it.

GP   January 9th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

It is intellectually dishonest to claim there isn't a difference between how the media reports on Republicans verses Democrats. It is no surprise that Liberals are again intellectually lazy when it comes to getting ALL the facts, and not just listening to 10 second sound bites to form their political "positions". I use the word positions, because most Liberals have no core foundation of beliefs, just positions on the limited facts they hear from any unreliable sources.

Hmmm...Ms. P, the next time you speak out in the press, here's what I want to know:

1. What's your position/solution on the current conflict in the Middle East?
2. What's your opinion on PE Obama's economic stimulus plan? Any ideas of your own?
3. Do you think Sanjay Gupta would make a good Surgeon General? If so, why? If not, whom would you recommend?

Get the picture? Talk about things of substance and maybe the press will take you seriously.

Just a tip!

jaruzian   January 9th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

Palin should ignore both public and private sector people who have nothing better to do than play these silly little, "Please, somebody, ANYBODY, notice me!" games.

Such people fundamentally NVA's (No Value Adders) to our society and have transitioned into VD (Value Detractors).

Joe   January 9th, 2009 2:11 pm ET

Danny   January 9th, 2009 2:11 pm ET

Wow, she is so right. I mean, take for instance the fact that Obama had a very insignificant relationship with a so called terrorist, and his house was on of hundreds that hosted an event for him. Some in the media described this as 'starting his career in the living room of a terrorist', or 'palling around with terrorits', resulting in certain moronic politicians following the media's lead and beleiving in this crap.

Scott   January 9th, 2009 2:11 pm ET

I see so many negative things written about Sara Palin, and I really don't understand all of the animosity toward her. If you didn't want to vote the McCain/Palin ticket, WHATEVER, but stop the character slandering! Its way beyond "old"...
And, for God's sake, leave the children out of it!

Sophia in Canada   January 9th, 2009 2:10 pm ET

Maybe she will be watching one of her Beauty Contest tapes during that time.
It is obvious this woman does not deal well with rejection.

Chris   January 9th, 2009 2:09 pm ET

Excuse me Ms Palin, Obama was attacked that he was a terrorist, not American, that his wife was not American, he was hardly off limits from bad press. You were treated very fair by Katie Couric, so stop whininng. If you can't take it, don't dish it out. You said plenty about our New President.
Yes, the children are off limits but you are the one who chose to parade them around on stage.
I would say you are a cry baby and a sore loser.
You were not qualified, it is as simple as that and very clear to most Americans, including the press.

Your Excellency; take the advice of an 86 year old retired USAF Sergeant and do what you have always done. Govern your state in the best manner you know how, and above all; consider the source of your tormentors and ignore them. You and most of the country know that you are doing an excellent job.

Proud American 2   January 9th, 2009 2:09 pm ET

"Why does the media continue to give this Idiot a form. John McCain should be sued for this. Republicans should be given an I.Q. test before being allow to run for public office." – Proud American

More like brainwashed liberal American. This very comment alone details the hypocrisy of the liberal party and oozes of ignorance in itself. All republicans are stupid? Why because we don't agree with you? Who are the real "racists" of this country. To actually sit there on your high horses and tell half the country their stupid because we care about where this country is headed. Do us all favor, drink some more kool-aid, look in the mirror and look at the real "ignoramuses". You would have been proud to live in Germany during the late 1930's. All hail Obama!

Dorothy   January 9th, 2009 2:09 pm ET

Why will this whining and silly woman not go away? No one is supposed to criticize her. No one is supposed to object if her kids break the rules (Levi's adventure with work). We are just to think she is wonderful and elect her to whatever. She needs to slink back into the obscurity from whence she came and shut up.

Gerry   January 9th, 2009 2:09 pm ET

In reference to my previous comment; I deliberately included three grammatical errors. It will be interesting to note how many of the esteemed contributors identify them.

Brandon   January 9th, 2009 2:09 pm ET

Shut up, just shut...up. Seriously. You hate the media so much then shut your mouth and they'll stop covering you. I didn't let it go this far during the elections though I truly disliked this woman. Now, I hate her. Although I disagree on much of the reublican philosophy, there are smart, intelligent republicans out there. She isn't one of them. She is a waste of space for any party, any team she is a part of and it's idiots like this that get beamed around the world and continue to perpetuate the the stigma of ignorance in US leadership that is held by many.

For the good of the nation, stop giving this hackneyed, two-bit, poor excuse for a republican, American and woman face time.

JB   January 9th, 2009 2:08 pm ET

Seriously, does she have like a word limit she has to hit every day?? If she would shut her yapper the media would leave her alone. But since she has to release a statement every day; statements that make her look more and more ridiculous by the minute; the media eats it up! Look as a woman, I love to see women rise to power and achieve big. But if we are going to play with the big boys, we must expect to be knocked around a bit. And she is doing a disservice to ambitious women every where. I can hear men all over this country groaning about stupid whiny broads, and who will forevermore equate a woman running for office, with someone who couldn't find her @ss with a map!!

Mike   January 9th, 2009 2:08 pm ET

Amen, Sarah. The bulk of the media today has no credibility.

DBK   January 9th, 2009 2:08 pm ET

What is Palin talking about? Ms Kennedy has been under scrutiny her entire life from the time she was a small child. I wonder if Sarah Palin, who as a candidate for the vice presidency of the United States demonstrated ignorance of so many subjects, including what a vice president's duties are, has any idea who Caroline Kennedy is...or who Jack Kennedy was.

Peace   January 9th, 2009 2:08 pm ET

I expected Sarah to understand the heavy scrutiny than anybody else.
Sarah you were heartbeat away to be a President. Very few people knew you before John McCain introduce you to us. We were all asking: Sarah who? Sarah who?.

We were obliged to know you. How intelligent you are. How much/far you know the world. Whether you are competent or not etc.etc. Infact the questions you got from some of the media were not sufficient.

If I were you, I would appreciate the scrutiny you got and not bashing the media. They were doing their job as you were seeking for one.

Brendan H., San Antonio, TX   January 9th, 2009 2:07 pm ET

Oh, and one last thought.........this is the same woman who accused Obama of being a terrorist simply because he was acquainted with one, yet Sarah and Todd are members of a secessionist group?!

And they don't deny it, either!!!

And she wants to be president of a country she wants to seceed from?!

Fritz   January 9th, 2009 2:06 pm ET

If the baby is hers rather than Bristol's, then her actions were comparable to trying to kill her child (refusing mediacl attention when her water broke, getting on a plane for several hours, making a connection, getting on a plane for several hours, again refusing to get medical attention, driving for an hour plus to a small medical clinic foregoing the larger medical facilities in the other locations). I would respect her more if she was lying in an attempt to protect her daughter. Maybe she still is lying by keeping up her story.

As I was reading through the comments left on this article I noticed that some people support sarah palin and think that the media bias is what made her look ignorant.. I think most people were able to put aside the ever so popular new stories about her personal life dramas and whatch her speeches or interviews where she made herself look ignorant all by her self. The media just made sure everyone was able to catch a glimpse. She was not qualified, end of story.

McCain/Palin – Best joke of 2008

Proud Alaskan   January 9th, 2009 2:05 pm ET

Sarah Palin is right. Media coverage is based on democrat ideals who broker with advertizing, and darn it, Obama had what they like most, CASH. If this country is going to start on the road to recovery, the media better start behaving like they do business in America, or do they really want us to go down the sewers?

Beth   January 9th, 2009 2:05 pm ET

Seriously...will this woman ever go away? She has an excuse for everything. When she stands up and takes responsibility for her own actions, maybe I'll have a shred of respect for her. However, her time is up and she needs to just disappear.

Honestly, I really don't want to hear from this woman ever again. Suffering with her for three months was more than I could bear. She is so self-absorbed that everything revolves around her. You would think that nothing nasty was ever said or claimed about the Obamas, especially from her good friends in loopy right-wing circles.

She seems to think she would have been treated better if she had been the Dems VP choice, it's obvious she's completely out of touch with reality.

LAST HONEST MAN,
I was not brainwashed into voting for Obama. In fact, Palin with her anti-America rants and her "Obama is a terrorist/Muslim/non-American" speech of the day did more to put him in office than any MSM outlet did.
If you were not brainwashed by the smirks of GWB and the winks of Palin, you might see that your current President is a traitor and guilty of war crimes. You might try reading the piece in "Vanity Fair" that interviewed many members of his staff and see what went on behind our backs. Frightening stuff-they believe that they rule the world, meanwhile they brought down Fannie and Freddie, encouraged torture, tapped all our phones without warrant, and all in the name of "security." Whose? Haliburton execs? Oil magnates? Talk to the 4000 plus parents of dead GIs, and the thousands more who are returning injured, depressed, and damaged for life. See how secure they feel right now.
Talk to my brother, who just built a beautiful home on his own, and then lost his job.
Talk to my neighbor, who lost her home when her hours were cut and benefits dropped.
Bush and company are continuing their little fascist agenda right to the end-allowing drilling in the Grand Canyon on one hand, and preserving a tiny piece of ocean with the other. They are liars and crooks! Not Obama.

This is a woman who couldn't name a daily newspaper she read with any regularity.

This is a woman who couldn't answer the question, when posed, that how come she didn't show her pregnancy nor reveal it to most people at the time, then took maternity leave and returned to work three days after the birth? You create your own intrigue, especially when you refuse to produce a medical record or report that would confirm the pregnancy/birth.

This is a woman who used the cutesy-two shoes approach and got called on it.

This is a woman who has a bachelor's degree in journalism (from an unaccredited school), but yet she has no clue as to how journalism works?!

This is a woman who preached family values, yet her 18-year-old daughter is pregnant out-of-wedlock?!

This is a woman whose potential son-in-law had to quit his job because he didn't have the basic qualification to be an apprentice – a high school diploma, yet she wants us to back-off?!

This is the same woman who claimed Obama had no management experience nor experience running a business? McCain has what in this regard, and don't count the 5-1/2 years as concierge at the Hanoi Hilton, either, except the VP position Cindy's family handed him?!.

And, finally, this is the same woman that McCain recently admitted he couldn't endorse for president? I have a flash for this woman, the mean, old, white men of the GOP will deal with her on their timetable, if it becomes necessary, so who will she blame then? I hope she makes it, because watching her having to face down Obama in a debate will be hilarious!!! She'll make Bush look like a mensa!

Hellooooooo earth to Sarah the campaign is over.

We have elected a President and a Vice President months ago. As a matter of fact we've even about to have them inaugurated.

You need to wake up now. It's over. Stop living in the past 2008 is over it's now 2009 you need to get with the time.

Maggie in NY   January 9th, 2009 2:01 pm ET

Gina, Baltimore, MD – I agree with you. While I would never vote for Palin, there is no reason for people to keep making the same posts over and over every time an article about her comes out. It's stooping to the level of the other party. One more point – Down Syndrome is extraordinarily rare in babies born to women under 40 and especially in teenagers and young women – Trig is hers. And even if he isn't, so what? Let's move on, dems!

pecori   January 9th, 2009 2:00 pm ET

Funny thing this Sarah Palin attacking the media and SNL all of a sudden. She thought it was great when there was a plausible chance of her becoming the VP. Did she correct the media when they told Americans that Barack Obama was a Muslim???? Not in all cases, and in fact there was probably a good chance that she and her advisers wanted to exploit the false media on her opponents (not a shocker folks since she is a politician). Now I hear that she is upset with SNL's Tina Fey for exploiting her popularity or making comments that were not regarded as appropriate in her mind. Well Mrs. Palin, if you felt that way you should have never been on that show in the first place right? Or were you hoping to make strides by using the media, like SNL, to boost your election chances? Is anyone else thinking hypocrite here?

Independent In NY   January 9th, 2009 2:00 pm ET

I would like to see you in Penthouse though...................

Michelle B.   January 9th, 2009 2:00 pm ET

So why didn't she say this when she was running for VP? It's late to be complaining now. AND the reason that she was "pick on" by the media is because she appeared to many Americans as a new face. Most people already know who Caroline Kennedy is, and what she has done. Sorry, Gov. Palin, bit I don't think its fair to blame others for your mistakes....

Lets put you under that much scrutiny and see how well you do. Yes she is the governer of Alaska, that puts her in the public eye, however keep your comments to her governing, not her personal life. Yes blogs are great and it's a free country, however when you make statements that are insults you come across as being in junior high school and are jealous of the popular girl so you are making fun of her. Gabe   January 9th, 2009 1:56 pm ET

Ok if you want the "media" debunking rumors like the one that claims that Trig was your grand daughter not daughter you need to
release your medical records (as you said you will) and present a birth certificate for Trig, or at the very least allow the hospital to publish the birth announcement as they do for most parents! (unless specifically asked not to). Until you do that there will always be the suspicion that you lied big time on this for political reasons.-
But I know what you are trying to do- Attack is the best defense- you dread the possibility that a real reporter actually will get to the bottom of this scandal- Simply put there is allot of smoke and only openness on your part can clear the air- Release the birth certificate and hospital records! I dare you! and until than just be hush.

Last Honest Man – January 9th, 2009 12:25 pm ET
Get over it, it wasn't brainwashing. Its name is election. McCain lost, Obama won. All the stories about Sarah Palin are caused by her and her press calls, interview and positions. And since she lacks coherence and respect to easily verified facts, like her real positions in that 'Bridge to Nowhere' story, she gets what she deserves from serious journalists.

Heidiinalaska   January 9th, 2009 1:56 pm ET

As someone who lives in the State of Alaska I actually can say she's right this time. I am not one to defend her, but when Obama said "lay off my kids" the media did, at least to a certain extent. When the candidates said "lay off our families" the media did...except for with her. They did not scrutinize Michelle nearly as hard as they did Sarah. It is unfortunate that this appears to be true as for the most part..she wasn't misunderstood..most of her comments were as snarky and immature as they sounded and she was grossly underqualified for the job. The media lost a lot of credibility when they pushed the "Trig isn't hers" story..and they lost even more when they chose to focus on her wardrobe. She's right..Caroline will not be put under the microscope like she was..and her motives won't be questioned. I don't believe that Sarah had ulterior motives or that she was even dishonest..infact she probably called it like she "saw it" as it were and decided to just be herself...whether we liked "herself" came out in the election results I think :)

Was it the Media that choose to place her in front of a bloody turkey slaughtering at Thanksgivivng? No-it was Sarah-grinning the whole time! The woman is MENTAL! It freaks me out to think how many Americans voted to have her a heartbeat away from holding the most powerful position in the world. The woman has a serious MIxed Personality Disorder, not to mention-she is not too bright.

Barbara   January 9th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

She and Joe the Plumber both got a taste of notoriety (not fame) and can't give it up.

Deanna   January 9th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

Its a no brainer to read who is actually writing this 'hate' stuff on Gov. Palin. Most are under 18 yrs old, and can't even vote. Ask them where Alaska is on the map and they wouldn't even be able to find it. Ask them if its a state and most wouldn't even know. Ask them where they work, and most would say "McDonalds, or Wal-Mart". These haters are so brain washed by the liberal media that its scarey to think they can't actually read and think for themselves. Sad...

jim   January 9th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

Hey steve Obama did hang out with terrorists. Know your facts before you speak.

Bob   January 9th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

I. M. P. E. A. C. H. obama and appoint Palin. She is smarter and more experienced. If you dont stop being a sexist you would know this as truth.

BA   January 9th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

I guess it's only ok. when it's Carl Rove's goons going after a Dem.

martyd   January 9th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

I wonder who wrote these comments for the guv. They certainly are not mangled like her verbal statements...

Denine   January 9th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

You're right, Sarah! I CAN'T believe that I'm still having to see you in the media! Go away, Ding-bat!

Terry   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Gov. Palin was fun. I hope she runs for president in 2012. She is not very smart, not well read at all, not very articulate, not a gifted administrator, and not particularly qualified to do anything that I can think of. She is mean-spirited and she talks with a forked tongue. She accuses people of being a socialist when I am willing to bet the rent money that she cannot define socialism. She has memorized a few buzz phrases.

She is a highly qualified spokesperson for modern American Conservatism. I hope she leads the Conservative cause to its destruction.

Chipster   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Isn't this the woman who said women undermine themselves when they whine about unfair treatment? Maybe someone could explain why asking what sort of newspapers, magazines, books, etc. she reads is such a hardball question. I'm sorry but that's what I call fluff!

I couldn't help but laugh at her comment about the "special treatment" Caroline Kennedy has received. Every media outlet has ridiculed Kennedy's "ya knows" and questioned her qualifications.

What's with Fox News though? First, Greta moves in with Palin for a week of interviews. Now, they have a documentary and she's the subject of every O'Reilly show I've seen. Are they the All-Palin-All-the-Time-Network now?

wendy   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Shut Up! It's over, you are over, and no one cares! I can't stand hearing about you anymore. You are a disgrace to motherhood. I think this was a first for a woman to internationally exploit not only her newborn but also her teenage daughter. Shut up! Go away! You are a hypocite! Please go home and care for your children.

ER   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Here we go again when is Sarah Palin going to go away and stay quiet in Alaska in the kitchen cooking and shooting moose, next we should see her hosting her own Jerry Springer Family show. Big time tv.!!!lol.

Stacey   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

It amazes me how stupid and ignorant Sarah Palin is. She had no problem attacking Obama ("paling around with terrorists"); she said nothing when ignorant racists shouted "kill him and lynch him") at her klan (oops I mean political) rallies; she had no problem putting millions of Americans down ("small town people are real Americans"). Now she's whining again about the media being unfair to her. She put herself out there. Every time she starts whining and complaining, she's putting herself out there. I have no pity whatsoever for this woman. No, she doesn't have to "just go away." The more she speaks, the dumber she sounds. Keep it up, Sarah. You only prove more and more why you were not qualified to run for V.P. let along be V.P. and thank goodness America did not vote for you.

Noah   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

WHat is truly amazing is the power that this woman still has over the hardcore liberals who post on CNN.com hourly. This woman has the ability to drive you crazy and i think it is utterly hilarious. You defend racist, anti-semites like rev Jeremiah Wright yet you seek to destroy this woman who has done nothing wrong but seek to serve the public in higher office. That is the hypocrisy of the Left

Pam   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Will somebody please shut her up? She blames everyone but herself for the stupid remarks she has made...no one made her look stupid but herself. Get over yourself, Palin. Enough already. Go kill some innocent animals. That's what you're good at.

sherri   January 9th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Governor Palin is her our worst enemy

Regroup
Governor your state and if viable throw your hat in for 2012
Worry less about the media

Jack NYC   January 9th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

What did Palin think running for President would be like? it's brutal, unfair, biased, very difficult, and very unpleasant. This is not like running for Beauty Queen. As Pres. Truman said, "If you can't stand the heat, get the hell out of the kitchen." Gore lost, unfairly and kept his dignity. Kerry was battered, lost and kept his diginity. McCain lost and kept his dignity. This is how people of character react to defeat. Losing, in and of itself, is not a bad thing.

Wellkep   January 9th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

Time for the credits to roll and Iris Dement's " Our town" to play...........it's the final episode of Sarah's Excellent Adventure.

Brian MacDougall   January 9th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

The best damage control for her would be to shut her mouth and go away for awhile.

steve   January 9th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

shaggy- you're stupid.

Susan in SC   January 9th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

If Sarah Palin wants for the bloggers to stop questioning Trig's birth she should release her medical records, LIKE SHE SAID SHE WOULD. Wouldn't that clear up the entire question did she give birth to Trig?

This pathological whining is her way of staying in the news. She must believe that news is better than no news; people will know her name and perhaps forget her whining later on? Okay. But what about her lack of intelligence? Will we forget that later on? The woman cannot string together a sensible sentence. Even yesterday's "via me" had me shaking my head.

AnonymousStudentT   January 9th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

Someone needs to tell this stupid woman that she's on minute 15,000 of her 15 minutes. I have no pity for her. She was, after all, a journalism major in college, and she worked in the media. One would think that she, above all the other politicians would know how to handle the media. That she couldn't just goes to show how badly she sucked.

Judy   January 9th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

OMG; like she is the ONLY ONE and this is new media behavior invented JUST FOR HER! Every time she does an interview, she just buries herself deeper and deeper and proves more and more how she is certainly NOT going to be the next Republican pick. That is one of the most hilarious notions I have heard EVER!!!

suzanne   January 9th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

this isn't news. seems to me like she's just trying to stir things up and keep her name in the news. she's history and has no future on the national scene for the republican party.

NCGirl20   January 9th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Conseratives amaze me. "The media put Obama in office" Get real. Please wake up and realize some of us do think for ourselves.

Take the loss like a man. Stop blaming everybody else because your plan didn't work.

BTW...God doesn't govern by law. He governs with love because He is Love! He wants people to obey Him because they love Him not because someone made it a law.

A Christian that is happy Obama is taking office on Jan. 20th!!

Susan   January 9th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Sarah, I also think you were under a microscope because we never heard of you and who is this woman who could possibly be the President if something were to happen to McCain. We had every right to find out who the heck you were. If you didn't hide behind your party in the beginning, maybe things could have turned out a bit different....but only for awhile since once you did come out of hiding well....we found out that God Forbid, something happened to McCain we would....I can't finish, It still scares the heck out of me just to think about it.

Sarah, you were never right for the job and you should have seen the real reason behind it all and said, " How nice of you to ask, but I am clearly not ready. Maybe I will get my self ready for 2012. Come back then, thank you. "

Elly   January 9th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Its pretty pathetic and reflects badly on her when she blames the media for comments that came out of her *own* mouth!!!! what a huge EGO!!!She * loves* to be in front of the camera!
maybe she should have been a model or an actress
Go educate yourself before you decide to become a senator or God forgive president

Steve   January 9th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Given her post-election interviews, I am surprised the Governor Palin would admit to have done anything at all. She has taken no responsibility for her lack of knowledge, inability to piece together coherent sentences, incendiary comments or standing idly by while fowl were being killed. Her stands are only comparable to those being taken by the Illinois Governor. They did no wrong and it's all someone else's fault. I guess the comparison is valid since she, too, was cited for abuse of power by her own legislature.

Dan Rider   January 9th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

I'm confused...Palin wasn't this unhappy when she used the media to spred lies and character smears about Obama,"palls around with terrorists". Palin should now be more sympathetic about the huge lie that was spread around and partially believed about Obama being a Muslim . Palin was clueless about a variety of issues and took the far right's view on most others, and for this portrayal by some of the press, I am grateful.

drahcir61   January 9th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Seriously, it's time to start wondering ... WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WOMAN???

Is she an egomaniac who got a taste for the real world & just can't let go?

Is she dumber than we thought & she just doesn't realize that people want her to go away?

Every time she opens her mouth like this she alienates herself ever more from the mainstream. She is like watching a slow motion train wreck ... only better!

jeanne   January 9th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

GO RAISE YOUR CHILDREN.............

Rosemary Storaska   January 9th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

Palin raises a concern that has already led to a new documentary film coming out in the end of February. Numerous women's groups and other organizations fed up with the far left media are now closely following the media as watchdogs. There is a wave of revolt coming and the media in the future will be held to a standard of responsible journalism or they will no longer exist–The New York Times for one as well as magazines as newsweek and networks that produce interviews bent solely to raise ratings as that of Katie Couric. Times are changing because the American public has had enough and now know that through the blogasphere there is much power.

Alli Tool   January 9th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

Kathryn Sajdak   January 9th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

Kelvin   January 9th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

And so much for her preaching of abstinence and family values.

uwtisch   January 9th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

I am surprised by the amount of people here who say that Gov. Palin "has had her 15 minutes of fame and we should move on" or that people should just forget about her. She is still Gov. of Alaska, has great name recognition, a dedicated following in the Republican party, and might run for the Alaska Senate seat in 2010. She is going to be around for a long time, her opinion and statements matter and are news, even if you or I don't like them.

Mike   January 9th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

Hey Proud American-

Go back under the rock from which you came. I'm so sick and tired of your insensitive, immature, unintelligent, and downright nasty opinions. Proud American? You are pathetic.

Emmanuel   January 9th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

Is this not the same woman that called Hillary a whiner for not standing up to the media? Is this not the same Sarah Palin that called Obama a terrorist and his campaign started with terrorists? Hypocrites, brood of vipers and evil men will get their turn. It's your turn now Sarah so deal with it you hypocrite. I can't believe the republicans almost elected you as VP, boy, we didn't just miss a bullet, we missed an Intercontinental Alaska Ballistic Nuclear equipped warhead coming right at the whole world. Phew!

Michael   January 9th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

Joking aside, she was on a path for high office before she was asked to run for VP. However, she would have needed to dedicate herself to issues pertaining to the US economy, the world economy, and foreign policy before she was a credible candidate. I fear she would have impatiently sought the presidency before she acquired all of these requisite skills to make a credible run for the office. In my view, Sarah Palin won't be ready to run for president until at least 2016. Of course, she'll run in 2012 and fall flat on her face.

Raleigh NC   January 9th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

Palin plays a fair game!! She has been hurt deeply by all of the ugly remarks made by the media as well as blogs, could you not only give her life back and leave her alone until the next election? Her family business is hers alone, nobody has the right to tear her apart. As for her son Trig it is a disgrace for you to pick on a child with special needs or not, how would you feel about that? Kennedy will win only by her family name, why don't you think she uses her married name, she ashamed that nobody will know who she is, the media is truly treating her with kid gloves for the senate seat, this is the way of our society, win by name and not your merits. Palin is a very caring lady, who loves her family and will protect them no matter what it takes. Did you know that (kid) is a goat=for all you city people that are not educated enough to know that.

caron   January 9th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

Shaggy,

If you can honestly say that Obama is stupid - then please tell me who is SMART? Obama is one of the most intelligient men that I have seen AND he is both well-spoken, gracious to boot. You might not like his policies - but come on, at least be able to admit that he is smart. Or you will lead me to believe that you are not!

Jackson   January 9th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

I am glad they wont let this story die. If Trig is her daughter's, and not hers, then she has perpetrated public fraud on the nation. As such, she should be held accountable. If she wants the matter to go away, a simple paternity test will solve it all.

Conservatives keep saying "where's Obama's birth certificate?" so why not a little "where's Trig's paternity test?"

Joe Green   January 9th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

CNN loves Palin, it seems. No excuse is too trivial for CNN to do a story on her.

Get a life CNN...

Jeff Mankin   January 9th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

The media sucks!

joni   January 9th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

I don't blame Sarah Palin one bit, the media were terrible to her ! The media and all the reporters who write stuff about people should be ashamed of themselves! From movie stars, to politicians, to every day people! They are very hurtful and tacky !!!!

C Hartz   January 9th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

To label Palin as a fascist would be giving her credit for intelligence she does not have. Hopefully, she will slither away and soon.

California Gold   January 9th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

This woman can't help herself. She is absolutely single minded in cementing herself as American's Top Dumb AND Dumber. She will never let the world forget she is a hollow, shallow, pathetic, sorry excuse, ridiculuous, idiotic joke who entertained us as a full blown clown until she and McCain lost the election. She still doesn't get it. She still doesn't understand that millions voted against her did so because she is utterly, hopelessly, awful and we want her to go away. Clueless. Stupid, clueless, impertinent woman.

change I can't agree with   January 9th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

The koolaid drinkers on this forum are probably the same goobers who thought it was ok for the state of Ohio to attack Joe the plumber on a personal basis. LMAO I bet you cry real tears over those poor misunderstood terrorists at Gitmo while you rip into whoever the media tells you is bad...

Allison, Pittsburgh   January 9th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

I'm no Palin fan, but leave her kid alone. No one gets hurt with these accusations except for Trig.

Dale   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Go away, Sarah. We are done with incompetent people in the White House.

macaela   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

I think it is completely disgusting that many of you are so hateful that you are able to attack a woman's children and her intelligence. Of course she didnt make the best showing and probably wasnt the best choice for John McCain but is it necessary to insult the choices she makes within her own family (I am sure you all have made all of the right choices in that arena)? All this woman has done is climb the ladder of politics because she didnt like the way things were, it is so wrong that she wanted to actually do something to change them? I guess she could have sat at home and blogged on her computer about it..

Furthermore, the reason she is still in the media is because YOU ALL keep her there. People continue to talk about her, her children, her mistakes... maybe if you and the liberal media would leave her alone she would not feel the need to defend herself. Grow up and have some respect for yourselves and others... it is the only way this country will survive..

McBride, SLC, UT   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

This Woman is a joke. The Media scrutiny is not exclusive to her or to Republicans. Barack Obama's family, or he for that matter, was not off limits to them at all. Does she not recall what was made about some of Michelle Obama's comments, or Reverend Wright, or Obama being a Muslim, etc., etc., ? And She and the McCain campaign were the worst. She has such a double standard. She want's the media and Democrats to treat her with respect, while she trashes everyone she wants. ( What was that about Barack Obama being a "Socialist, and paling around with Terroists?) LOL

rick   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Can't she just quietly go away like McCain????

Susie   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Think Shaggy, if it weren't for affirmative action, Palin would be a stay-at-home mom and a part-time sports reporter in Alaska.
And why does she keep talking about "If Obama had chosen me, they would have loved me." Huh? Those of us who respect and trust Hillary Clinton's expertise and experience would have just fallen in line behind you? Is she serious? Deluded? Insane?

VETS4Obama   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

What a complete moron – it becomes more and more clear every time she opens her mouth!

Carol, California   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Here we go again, Sarah reporting from Base Camp of her Own Lttle World which exists only in her Own Little Head.

Can't she see that she brought this on herself? If she wanted to cut the rumors about the infant, all she had to do was release her medical records. She wouldn't do it. She was the one who dragged the kids into this.

And the Caroline Kennedy comparison was laughable. Caroline got plenty of jabs in the press. She just knew when to keep quiet. Sarah can't keep her big mouth shut and she gets herself in trouble. She refuses to learn from her own mistakes. It's everyone else's fault.

Gina in Racine Wi   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

When a Birth Certificate naming Bristol as Trig's mother is produced.....THEN and ONLY then......should the Media stop talking about this.

If this "switch" of Trig, from being Bristol's to be Sarah's baby, actually took place....with all the lying, planning and scheming that would have had to have gone along with this......it is important that the Voters know what type of a person they are counting on to run our Country.

Spencer   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

If I was Sarah Palin I wouldn’t bring up Caroline Kennedy except in my dreams. Why would this so-called soccer mom who has about the most damaged family values I’ve ever heard about, an ignorant woman with grand ambition, want to remind us that Ms. Kennedy is an educated and articulate person from a very distinguished family, and that she buys her own clothes? Ms. Palin didn’t seem to have any problem fitting right in with the Republican habit of lying and then repeating it every chance she had to smear President-elect Obama.
I hope the people of Alaska show this critter the door at the next election, but on second thought maybe letting her run again will just about wreck the wretched GOP. That would be worth waiting for. No, but seriously folks, can’t we just put her in the Hollywood museum of bimbos?

Steve from Atlanta   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Let's see...innuendo, misleading reporting, “erroneous and often outrageous leads on a variety of non-issues.”, "personal, salacious nature " of reporting, lies...do these all sound familiar?

What goes around, comes around, little Miss Sarah

Hopefully you'll fade away and not hijack the GOP to your anti-intellectualism.

Hint, start reading some books & stop blaming everyone for your failures. They are all yours.

Tony, Philadelphia, PA   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

She's had her 15 minutes of fame. She's no longer newsworthy. She's a nobody. Move on.

Kensing James, Fl   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

And also..we are a team of marvericks!!, And also.. we are a team of marvericks!!. What nonsense. Now Palin knows that no one is paying her any attention (except the media) and so she wants to compare herself with real and accomplished people like Caroline Kennedy. What a loser Palin is. And you fools from the media, please do the American people a favor by not paying attention to this loser.

Martha   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

For people that don't like Sarah, you certainly can't seem to get enough of her. You keep reading everything you can about her. What's your problem. Don't like her....stop reading and commenting about her. Simple.

George   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

College, experience, motherhood, etc. All of this is irrelevant. I seek certain things from my leaders. I want someone who is honest with me and themselves. I want someone who is intelligent enough to understand what is going on around them, and able to use that information to make decisions. I want someone who knows when they need outside help on something and is a good enough judge of character and ability to find the right person. And, I want someone who represents me and my country in a positive manner that reflects the needs of the population. Sarah Palin does not fit those needs. Her extremely conservative views do not reflect the diverse population she wishes to speak for, and the words she spouts off only go to serve her purpose of power and self-promotion. The inability to deal with "gotcha" politics only shows her inability to react when necessary, and that is no trait of a leader.

NJCrybaby   January 9th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Sarah,

In the words of Jay-Z: Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it!

roy   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

salacious? Sarah, which newespaper did you read that in? Oh...All of them? Like the child who constantly watches what all the other kids have, Palin talks about responsibility for her own actions, but when her actions cause press reports that she does not like, she cries foul.
Perhaps if she actually HAD read some newspapers and magazines up there she could have 1) answered Katie Couric's question intelligently, and 2) seen that this is the way the world is outside the microcosm called Wasilla!
GROW UP SARAH PALIN!!!

Ken   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

Palin is the bag of crap liar, not the media. What an ignorant fool.

Shasta   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

When will she stop? Does she not recognize the fact that Governors can be appointed and that being being a Governor is not the next in line to the Presidency? Although, in her little mind she thought that was really gonna happen', ya betcha! Of course she was under the microscope, America didn't know her and for her to keep whinning that she was looked at intensely by the media is just moronic. Thank god she was. Go away Sarah, you had your 15 minutes, we know you are addicted to the hype, but you got it as good as it's gonna get already. Oh, and that little thing about Trig, just show the hospital birth certificate and records and that whole thing is over--it's pretty simple.

Susan   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

Just for the record, I saw the interview that was on last night, and Sarah Palin was using the conditional future tense in her comments. I'd like to know how long ago her comments were made.

biggie   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

she's a clown...it's the media's fault that she cant conduct an intelligent conversation with the media? she is clueless....i dont like her...but i do like her because watching her bury herself all the time is priceless!!!

John   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

Way to go Sarah! Once again, she's telling it like it is. I hope she doesn't listen to the far left liberal hypocrites posting comments on here. "Please don't go after Obama for anything, he's perfect!" "It's not fair to bring the Rev. Wright into a conversation!"
Of course news outlets ran stories of her not knowing Africa was a continent because when it comes to Republicans, the mainstream media believes the worst first. They were suckered and printed a buried retraction many days later. The entire Trig story was insane! Just think how you hypocrite liberals would feel if news organizations ran stories on baseless whacked out conservative bloggers about Obama being a Muslim or some other rumor, then did nothing to correct it. Journalism died in 2008.

Joyce Becker   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

Dear Sarah, you did try to hide the birth of Trig that led to the rumors, you only have yourself to blame for the press you got and will get in the future. If you would ever play straight and not whine so much things would be much better for you and your family.
Some one who did not support your or McCain.

Brent   January 9th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

Any time that Sarah Palin starts feeling like she's being ignored she'll just start complaining about something so the press will cover her. I wish the media would just ignore this D-list politician and spend its time on something someone cares about.

Palin please be patient...this media crap is just Democrats being Democrats...If the Democrats told the truth they could be Republicans, however they are liars just like the media...so everyone please remember this saying in politics..DON'T TRUST ANYONE"

Cherri Brown   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

I try to avoid media interpretation or commentary until after I have listened to a full speech either in person or through broadcasts of full speeches. Media caters to advertisers and words are taken out of context. That said, I believe Gov. Palin said enough all by herself that media only had to rebroadcast her words verbatim and in context. No add-ons were necessary. She dug herself a mighty interesting ditch from which to play the blame game, and she does it quite well. I did watch from beginning to end, several of her speeches given on her own or with Senator McCain.

sally   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

someone must have written that statement for her – it's very well composed.

Susan M. Green   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

Why do you keep putting this diva in the news? PLEASE let her fade away back into the wilderness she came from? Her 15 minutes is so over!

New York   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

Give me a break Sarah, do you really consider a Senator to be equal to the Vice President of the United States? When you are one step from the Presidency of this country of course you are going to come under heavy vetting from the Media. When you accepted the nomination you should have realized the media has no boundaries. Do you live in a bubble? Dont be a poor loser. Get out of politics. You arent going anywhere after that poorly executed mess of a campaign you were part of and contributed to.

stuntborg   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

Until recently, I thought Trig was just a prop! Then I finally saw him awake and realized he was a real kid!

CRAZY   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

This lady is mentally handicapped, and thank every sane american for NOT voting for that ticket. I seem to recall, that before she was nominated, she said Hillary Clinton was doing a disservice to women for complaining about Biased media coverage...

I watched the entire coverage endlessly, the only place those rumors were discussed, was in non-major media, blogs mostly...and the only time it was mentioned about trig in major media was to talk about how ridiculous rumors are.

I would appreciate the governor providing actual instances of what she's contending, of course she couldnt even back up her credentials in a national campaign for VP "i can see russia from an island in alaska, doncha know!"

pathetic...   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

She is a automobile accident happening over and over again. Yet, I keep driving by....

Michael   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

It would be refreshing to listen to her recite, say, five mistakes she made during the campaign. 1. She accepted the offer to run for VP. 2. She accepted the offer to run for VP. 3. She accepted the offer to run for VP. 4. She accepted the offer to run for VP. 5. She accepted the offer to run for VP.

m.c in l.v.   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

Hey Grandma Gimmick, here's an analogy that even a brain- dead "hockey mom" like you can understand: Scoreboard! Your team lost. Now be a good loser and go away! Govern your state, raise your kids, try to build your Pipeline to Nowhere and stay the heck away from national politics. You are irrelevant now more than ever. You brought this all upon yourself and your family. This is how they play the game in the big leagues and you were way, way out of your league.

Kelvin   January 9th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

This woman is just hypocrite and shameless.

Hankers   January 9th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

For those who lament the supposed Liberal bias in the media, remember that the alternative bias may be worse. The right-wing adgenda exploits the ignorant and brings out the worse in people.
Liberal and proud of it!

Mark   January 9th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Sarah Palin is yesterday's news. Who cares? Give it up.

Missouri Mom   January 9th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Why isn't McCain crying to the media 24/7 about his treatment. This lady gives all women a bad name! I am so sick of hearing about how I should care about her treatment since I am a woman. She does not represent anything I stand for and she does not represent how I would handle her given situations. When will people stop screaming sexism and recognize that she would be just as lame as a man as she is as a woman it has nothing to do with her sex. It has to do with her character and her integrity and I find her lacking in both.

mw   January 9th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

of course there is going to be a difference between the way your candidacy and kennedys is covered. yours was for the vice presidency!

caron   January 9th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

I love it when Sarah speaks out - I get such a laugh. Keep it coming Sarah, we need to have something to smile about!

P. Mathew   January 9th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

What a double standard. So personal attacks are perfectly alright as long as her and her family are not the targets of it? What a hypocrite.

I would call Sarah Palin a two-bit politician if I didn't risk being hit by a roll of quarters.

Erik from Real Pennsylvania   January 9th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Palin says the media created "adversarial situations,” and pursued “erroneous and often outrageous leads on a variety of non-issues.”

Right, like "palling around with terrorists."

Palin is a loon, a fraud and a menace to all that is good in America.

Anonymous   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

who cares!!!! no more palin stories please.

Amazing Stuff   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

She is an elected official her dealings are public record, and she complains about the media writing about her daughters boyfriend being caught not meeting the minimum requirements for a job? There must be a really lower set of standards for Alaska politicians.

aware   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

zaphod2000   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

Will this woman ever stop coming up with ways of making the news? She continues to use that trailer trash family of hers to be on the front page.
Listen up Caribou bimbo. WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR STATE OR YOUR LIFE. GET LOST!

Chris   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

Stop giving Palin a sounding board. This woman will disappear if we stop paying attention to her. Yes, every interview is a potential train wreck (too good to look away), but if you really want her to disappear, stay away from her interviews. The media will pick up on it and stop reporting on her. It's just like feeding pigeons – one or two is okay, but too soon you're surrounded and then the rest of us are left having to clean up a huge mess.

Kristen Johnson   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

“As a public official, I expect criticism and I expect to be held accountable for how I govern,” Palin said in a statement released by her office Friday.

That's a load of crap. She expected to be treated with kid gloves because she was a woman. I'm SO glad she wasn't put into office. I'm a Democrat, but I have to say John McCain isn't a bad guy and probably would have done a pretty decent job heading up our country. But Sarah Palin? God, no. Send her back to Alaska and keep her there. I found her woefully ignorant in ... well, just about everything ... and that is not what America needs in a vice president.

J   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

Whether you like her or not, the media smelled blood, sensed fear and attacked her from day 1. I'll be the first and not last to admit that she was awful in answering questions, but the media did it's best to capitalize on Sarah Palin and her family.

Annette   January 9th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

Huh, Gov. Palin, the campaign for VP is over.

Sharon   January 9th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Sarah Palin rails at the media, but she is adept at keeping her name in the media. Can she keep this media coverage up for four more years? Let's hope not.

jy   January 9th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Sara dear.
Maybe politics is the wrong profession for you. You do not seem to realize what price you have to pay for being in the public limelight.

ps, i was hoping that by now you would have hired a PR coach to make you more likeable

PuckU   January 9th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Hey Sarah hows your surveillance of Russia going these days. Homeland security called and said your report is overdue.

Farrell, Houston, Tx   January 9th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Palin continues to play the blame game for her own failures and she needs to move on, the election is over and she lost. It appears that Palin does read one magazine and that's the gossip magazines. There is no place in the political world for Palin who likes to bring up gossip which has nothing to do with her governing the State of Alaska, it makes her look more and more like a moran. I said it when she and McCain were riding the "Gossip Talk Express" and not "Straight Talk Express".

Judith Coley   January 9th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

The media will cover Caroline Kennedy a little differently than Sarah Palin because Ms. Kennedy can answer complex questions intelligently, using complete sentences.

Frank, Philadelphia   January 9th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

There's no way that's her baby. It just isn't.

If you can't take it, don't dish it out, not even for the purpose of self Glory and Political Positions! Sympathy? – None Here.

Sue Ellen Stamp   January 9th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

You know, i figure the only reason the press is even considering Palin as an itellegent interview is a mask to cover up, what they consider to be satire! We all need a few laughs from time to time, but this is getting ridiculous! She's old news, and why not let her just hunker down in her igloo, and leave her be – this is growing old very fast. SES

Wasilla Resident   January 9th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

The only reason they are questioning if it's Sarah's baby is because this isn't Bristol's first child. As Mrs. Palin about the baby her daughter had and gave up for adoption when she was 15. Or at least ask her if this is the first time her daughter has been pregnant. Will the media report that?

Va 4 Obama   January 9th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Sarah Palin is NOT mature enough to take any credit at all for her shortcomings.....she will continue to blame EVERYONE but herself for her disastorous VP run. Go away...govern Alaska, and leave the lower 48 alone!!!!

Daryl from Seattle   January 9th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Hilarious. She's like Catwoman. Can't stand to see Kennedy getting the lime light that she enjoyed so much during the election so now she just has to compare herself to her. Palin is under qualified for anything other than mayor of Wasilla and she's a walking tabloid/scandal, impossible to take seriously. I still question whether that kid is hers. The story of her flying back to AK while in labor is so outrageous, while her daughter missed months of school leading up to the birth due to "mono". Yeah right....

0 for 4   January 9th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Palin in 2012 means four more years of Obama. Nice.

HoneyBunny   January 9th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

RGF Enlightened   January 9th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

How absurdly ironic that a person who helped to perpetuate all the falsehoods and half-truths regarding Obama, would now complain about much milder but similar tactics against her. This is very typical of the far right media outlets and their supporters to be so hypocritical. Poor Ms. Palin. I feel sorry for her, not!

John   January 9th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

During the campaign she couldn't say a word because she didn't understand the issues. Now she wants to blame it on everyone else. She should concentrate on being governor of Alaska instead of worrying about the media. The people of Alaska are paying her to work on their interests not her own.

diamonddaisy200   January 9th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

Wow, the utter hate against this woman that did nothing to any of you is simply amazing, and the facination...no, insistance by the MSM to continue to try and rip her apart is simply sickening.

I thought the Democratic party was supposed to be about unity and bringing together of people.

The truth is that many Democrats are resentful and spiteful. Even in the face of victory they cannot help but through mud on the loser. They so hate their enemies that they will only accept complete submission to their beliefs and causes. CNN, you are no better.

Jim   January 9th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

I am not a Palin fan by any means. The Press, however, is going to make a martyr out of her and this will have poor results for developing good leadership.

Bea   January 9th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

Tell you daughter to go back to school, tell her future husband to go back to school. They need to get a diploma, not a degree (that comes after you attend college!!!) – Guess you need to look this up on Google! And everybody else on the media and the ones like reading it (me included) leave them alone. It is getting boring. Take care of your little one and his little sisters.

Harold   January 9th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

If you want to prove everyone wrong about Trig, produce some pictures of you being pregnant during 2006-2007. Otherwise shut up. And Sarah, nobody "misquotes" you, you say things that are idiotic, we make fun of those things you say. You are a fake wanna be who winked your way into governorship. I guess most of the voters in Alaska are horned up men wishing to get a piece of you. We here in so called "lower 48" could give a rats tail about you! So go back to your igloo, go shoot some defensless animal from your helo, and go away! No better yet, hang around for a bit, I need some new material for my stand up act.

AK Bearman   January 9th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

What is both sad and amazing to me is that Gov. Palin still does not see the point of Katie Couric's question regarding what media she reads. It had nothing to do with whether "she can read" or "if Alaskans read" as Gov. Palin has said. it is about what sources of the news she turns to, what influences her thinking, etc. The facts that she both (a) blew the answer to this question, and (b) still doesn't understand the legitimate basis for the question two months later is revealing.

I actually agree with her about children of candidates or elected offials being off limits – except when the candidate makes an issue about the same children as part of the campaign. When she trotted her daughter and boyfriend out on the stage to make a point about "sanctity of life," she opened the issue. Fair game. Poor daughter.

Steve from Florida   January 9th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

Does she want some cheese with her "whine"?

Travis Y   January 9th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

The baby is her daughters'. She claimed to be 9 MONTHS PREGNANT AND HIDING THE BABY FROM THE WORLD. Her daughter took 9 months off school for MONO and came back shortly after the birth and Sarah went back to work. The problem is the simple people of Alaska believe whatever Alaskans say. Go to their websites and there is no negative anything about their politicians. Why else would they re-elect an 80+ year old politician with 7 felony counts and claim that they just don't " trust no D.C. courts anyhow" ???She is the worst person I have ever seen. Look at her face during the HATE rallies. The more hate from the crowd, the more she smiles. Period. She turned on her own party during an election. Republicans can go away for a while and so can all the states that voted McCain/Palin because YOU DON'T MATTER. That simple fact is what really angers you. Please don't try to argue because we all know it is true.

Jeff   January 9th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

She really structures her sentences like a fifth grader; run-ons, fragments, too many demonstarvive pronouns, and non-sequiturs are way too prevalent for anyone considering a leadership position in our society. This is the icing on top of the fact that what she says lacks insight and sophistication. She reminds me of a pull-string doll who just spits out catch phrases automatically. She is only fit for a provincial position and her best qualification as a politician is that she is an excellent demagogue.

bern   January 9th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

Dumb...just plain old dumb. Sarah please go away.

john   January 9th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

Hey all you a holes that can't see her point. Would you like it if the media was questioning your family? Or making up things about your family. Her family business is no more the media's business than yours is. Bunch of left leaning freakin idiots. ALL OF YOU. Be prepared to reap what you have sown starting 1/20/09. Point to ponder........tax credits are great when they are Obama's idea, just not when they are Bush's idea. Hipocrits!

Wilfred Bramball   January 9th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

Palin is right out of "A Face in the Crowd". She and Joe the Plumber were created by the same media machine that they decry. Worse, they are pedestrian demagogues with limited intellectual gifts. If the Republicans are pinning their hopes on Palin, they are making a big error. William F. Buckley must be revolving in his grave. Dumb and dumber conservatism is a dead end.

Park Kriner   January 9th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

I'd love to see the jealous libs. and haters of anyone that has morals comment about Sarah. Just because your daughter gets pregnant out of wedlock, does not mean you are an immoral idiot. I would hate to see some of the stuff these people are involved in with all their hate and bigotry???? They wish they were as sharp and pretty as she is. Can't take being homelier and dumber than she is, so rip her apart verbally. Only wish we had more public servants like her!!!!! She is great, great, great and will be around for a long time. Better get used to it complainers. Most of you will never accomplish a fraction of what Sarah will in her life and I thank God for her daily and love someone like her who actually takes a stand for her beliefs and will not waver. Hang in there Sarah !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robert   January 9th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

I may not agree with her but she is right in regards to the treatment she is getting about her child. To imply that a parent (mother) is not the baby's real parent is a cruel and mean thing to do. Especially in a case like this where the child is handicapped. To defend the actions of others in this case as most of the commentors have, is only a sign of the unbelievably cruel and morally deficient society we have become.

Georgia Peach   January 9th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Wasn't it Sarah Palin who tried to insinuate our President elect was a terrorist by paling around with them and incited folks to yell Kill Him, stuff that turkey.......It reminded me of scripture and God word certainly prevailed: Proverbs 10:10
He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
and Proverbs 6:12-14 12A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.

13He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;

14Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.

Sara dear,
If you don't want critisism, don't open your mouth.... It doesn't appear that anything intelligent comes out of it... anyway

Also maybe politics is the wrong profession for you . You don't seem to handle the heat/scrutiny well.

I am baacccckkkk..... pls.. stay up there and don't come down to lower 48.

Thebe   January 9th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Palin, your timing sucks and you are shameful to make such an insignificant, soap opera-ish statement on a day with record job losses.

We know you miss the limelight and you just cannot accept that you lost and Obama won.

If you hate the media so much, why do you keep engaging it?

Anyway, yes, good to see that you've been referring to the dictionary.

TexAnnie *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*   January 9th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

First of all, someone else wrote that statemenr for her, because I doubt she even knows what "salacious" means.

Secondly, is she just now figuring out those Trig rumors were out there?? She must not read much if that's the case– that was October news.

Third, why does she persist in bringing up personal things and then whine that her personal life is being unfairly examined in the media? She's the one who keeps bringing it up.

Lastly, I wonder if she ever returned all those pricey $150,000+ clothes? You would think there would have been something in the press about who or what charity got them... and what was going to be done with them. My guess is they're still hanging in the Palin's closets. Care to honestly respond to that one Sarah?

Ashley S.   January 9th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

She needs to get over herself! She has nerves complaining about the way people portray her when she herself goes on SNL!

sandee in Portland   January 9th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

Oh my God! When will she realize it's not the media that did her in, it was herself. She's the one that couldn't give a decent, intelligent interview. I would have more respect for her if she would just quit complaining and own up to the fact that she wasn't, nor ever will be, ready to be more than a governor of a very small state (population wise).

Alan   January 9th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

CNN – Your one-stop Palin new source!

Jerry   January 9th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

What a twit. Bloggers are not members of the mainstream media, and yet she continues to lump them together. Despite her howls of protestation against journalists and "the mainstream media", I don't ever remember a single mainstream media site running a story about Trig not being hers, or piling on regarding her daughter's illegitimate child.

Yes, they reported her daughter was pregnant and that the father was Levi Johnston. Just as they reported that Michelle Obama was quoted as saying that for the first time in her life she was proud of her country. In that regard, there was no double standard from the mainstream press on the handling of families.

This egomaniac needs to quit whining and get back to the job of governing her state. Why do we keep hearing more from her than from her running mate who actually ran for president???

Sue   January 9th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

Cry, Baby, cry ! Stop the whining, you silly cow ! How many times can you milk the same cow ? Whining and complaining about the same things to keep yourself in the headlines – now that is smart strategy !

Jay   January 9th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

This woman is astonishingly self-deluded, incredibly dishonest, unbelievably ignorant and completely narcissistic. Have you seen and heard enough yet Alaska.

Sara should be going to the Middle East with Joe the plumber to report on how great their God is and how he will help them prevail.

Neo-cons, Jesus Freaks Ugh!

Cynthia   January 9th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

Sarah Palin please stop whining. You spewed so much hate and lies during the campaign. You are so bitter about losing you are blaming everyone but the right one (yourself). You need to move on!!! If you thought the American people would buy the hate and lies you and McCain threw out there you were dead wrong. People recognize phonies when they see them!!!!!

Jennifer in Dallas   January 9th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

When you see an obviously mentally deranged or mentally defective person wandering from pillar to post, drooling on themselves, emitting occasional howls of indignation and lashing out in all directions, the kind, indeed humane, thing to do is turn off the lights and cameras and quietly call in mental health professionals to deal with the poor wretch.

I think that time has come with this woman of questionable intellectual acuity. Turn out the lights CNN and other news organizations ... it is obscene to continue to let her make a spectacle of herself.

Joel Miller   January 9th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

Enough of Palin. She's old news. Who cares? Thankfully she was defeated and is about as far away from the White House as ever.

Josh Maloney, Oakland, CA   January 9th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

I'm getting absolutely SICK of this woman. The only reason she's "lashing out" is to feed her need for attention. Get over it, Sarah. You have zero leadership capability. You poloarize people and you can't put together a substantive thought. You have no one to blame but yourself for whatever animosity you feel.

obama-mama   January 9th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

Ryan   January 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

I can count on one hand the number of John McCain stories that I've seen since the election. Why can't I say the same about his VP candidate who's far more worthless than McCain. Do we really need her to do a new interview or make a new press release every single day?

KHS   January 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

Sarah, go home, just go home.

Sorensen   January 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

Brett from Oriskany,VA   January 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

Here's a solution that should satisfy Palin AND help out the economy. I know lots of industries need bailouts. Larry Flynt needs a bail out, Palin needs publicity, its match made in heaven and all those who touted her main qualification as "being hot" may have their dreams come true. Add some guns to the photo shoot,Sarah and satisfy your base..

Alex_TX   January 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

Wah! Wah! Wah! Woman you lost, get over yourself and move on.
The only reason she is doing this is to make sure we don't forget about her, so the moron can run in 2012. If republicans are crazy enough to nominate her, then at least this would guarantee a re-election win for Obama.

old citizen   January 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

Go get em girl ! The media in this country is out of control ! I never voted for one media person to run things in this country !

Carl from MI   January 9th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

Oh BOO HOO!! All politicians and celebrities are subject to public scrutiny and public ridicule. From Blogo to Larry Craig... from Dubya to Cunningham. From Michael Jackson to Brittney Spears... they all have to take their lumps.

If there's nothing for the media to talk about, then they don't say anything about you. Notice the female governor from my state of Michigan doesn't have anything even remotely scandalous like Sarah Palin does. Palin wants the media coverage... just not the negative media coverage.

Well BOO HOO!! Sometime you just have to take your lumps. And if you get more than you fair share of the lumps, you better take a good look in the mirror and make some changes to your life.

Joan   January 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

As expected, the Palin hate machine is in full force right here on this site. I agree with her and the only people who think she was fairly treated by the media are the far Left whackos(like most posting here) who hate Conservatives. Liberals are the tolerant ones indeed. Right.

You tolerate each other and no one else.

Rickymo   January 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Enough with Palin. As the Bush/Cheneys go away so should she. I could care less about whose kid is who. I would be more concerned if we ever called her VP Palin or forbid President Palin.

Quote of the day:
"When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or, you know, maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, man, that doesn't do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this country. I don't think it's, it bodes well for her – - a statement like that." – Sarah Palin

Laverne   January 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Why is everybody always picking on me, all I was doing was being mavericky!

John in Ohio   January 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Palin 2012!

(Brought to you by the committee to re-elect Barack Obama)

Ellie   January 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

And the Academy Awards for being "STUCK ON STUPID" goes to Sarah Palin.

Ms. Palin needs to STOP running off with her comments because if anyone is making herself look even MORE ignorant in front of millions of people, it's SARAH PALIN herself!!

When you come out and start attacking the media you might as well put a gun to your head. The media is a MONSTER and they will chew her up and spit her out before you can say..,. "ya betcha".

Her press interviews during the campaign were her own doing and she should have been BETTER PREPARED and more focused on portraying herself as someone with some level of "common sense and intelligence". But Instead she made her self look very "trailer trash and hill-billy" by all her "winking and ya'betcha" comments. AND when she gave a "shout out" during a Vice Presidential DEBATE...that was truly the LAST straw. She played herself as nothing more than an incompetent and pretentious VP Candidate who clearly did NOT know what the hell she was doing or say 99% of the campaign time.

NO ONE bought her garbage. Sarah Palin did nothing but play the American People as "stupid" with her comical antics and it DID NOT WORK. The American people did NOT find it funny at all coming from a VP candidate. Are you kidding me?

SN   January 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

I can't believe what a buch of children most CNN posters are! Shallow, ill-mannered children at that.

P Brown   January 9th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Sarah Palin is such a whiner. Does she not get it! She is not wanted to needed. Mama Grizzly needs to go and hibernate.

Doesn't our country have bigger issues to report on than this woman? I mean, K-Fed is dating someone new!!! Hello?!!!

Ahmet   January 9th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

As an inconsequential, ignorant, incompetent piece of white trash this woman no longer deserves any coverage in any media. It's about time she and her low life family just went away. CNN are you listening?

snugglebunny   January 9th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

Someone call a Waaaaaambulance !

SMR   January 9th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

The way she lashes out at people, I'd hate to have her finger on the RED BUTTON!!! SCARY

Virginia   January 9th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

Sarah Palin is NOT dumb and she has a right to her opinion. Isn't that what being an American is about–stating your opinion and doing it freely. Good grief, I would be upset if the media was saying things like the story that her baby is not hers. Did no one see her pregnant? At that time probably not because no one cared about her since she was in one of our "57" states that happened to be in the outer limits of our contiguous 48 (Barack, do you know that big word?). Leave her and her family alone in their personal lives. Say what you will about Sarah, but she does have guts and it is o.k. if she is a working mom. It can be done you know!

Justin Cider   January 9th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

It wasn't the media fueling these Trig rumors, it was blog posters, people just like all of us posting here questioning something that seemed a bit odd. If you can't the slightest amount of scrutiny (tough questions such as name a newspaper you read) than politics isn't for you!

CO Resident   January 9th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

Sarah should remember how grossly out of context she took relationships, quotes and actions of Obama and Biden throughout the entire campaign. It appears to be tough for her when the shoe is on the other foot. The media and the blogs will not let her go as long as she continues to stay in front of cameras making comments about everything. The media is doing as they always do – and right now they have a duracell bunny who won't stop talking and banging a drum.

John Thompson   January 9th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

I can't figure out whether Sarah Palin is fundamentally stupid or if she was simply dropped as a baby. NOBODY could be that clueless... oh wait, I forgot about George Bush...

Dave C - NJ   January 9th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

The joke on SNL about "unwilling teenagers" was a joke aimed at HER, it was NOT aimed at her kid. Rather, it was implying that Sarah forced her teen daugther to marry for political image. Sarah doesn't get it (we didn't need Katie to see she was stupid.) There was no "attack on the kids."

wim   January 9th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

Mrs Palin, if you try to look like a poor loser you just succeeded.

Tom   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

How is she whining? The media is lying about her and she is defending herself and that is whining?

chica   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

Go home and raise your offspring. Your whining is so very old, as
is the uneducated garbage you spew.
MOVE ON

Cathy from Colorado   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

Sarah,
If you dislike the media so much, why do you keep talking to them, exposing so much more of your idiocy?

You create your own problems every time you open your mouth. Please, keep your mouth shut.

Cathy, an educated woman.

Bella   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

I really can not believe that you folks fall into this Democratic philosphy of life. I mean really. What ever happened to religious beliefs in our country. What I see is everyone putting the bible aside and living as they please. Without regard for one another. I can't see where Sarah is any different that any of us, she is human. Can any of you say that you have secured a governorship? Most likely not...so don't knock someone who has out lived and performed you in life. As for Obama he would never see my vote, ever. Talk about electing someone with no experience.....the American people did just that.

John F   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

The only source of her problems is in the mirror. She is only trying to keep herself in the spotlight by throwing a pity party for herself.

Sarah – Don't worry, history will not forget you. We still remember your type. We still remember Linda Tripp.

noopc   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

Palin is right on the money. The mainstream media is a calamity and disgrace. John Edwards was the real salacious deal, not Palin. Even the tabloids knew better.

Lisa Hartwell   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

She still has MORE to say? If she crept away quietly the media might ignore her. Now she is still crying over long ago spilt milk.

When will she get it that she makes herself a very easy target the second she opens her scatter-brained mouth. I'm almost sorry the campaign is over I so did love to read what dim-wit statement she made that day. It was comical to say the least.

Carrie Goodeagle Hayden, Idaho   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

I forgot to add, you also are a very vicious mean spirited woman, all the nasty things you said about Barack, you need to go to confession.

Valjean   January 9th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

Regardless of her IQ, political prowess, popularity or any perceived lack of the same, this woman is correct in defending her family's privacy and her children. The media today is a sorry excuse for journalism – e-news, papers, radio and tv all show a strong tendency towards publishing personal bias and innuendo rather than facts.

Marty   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

Sarah's only problem is that she is Republican. A Republican woman that is successful. That is a slap in the face of all the rhetoric the left has put out. And she will continue to be successful. Those of you who are posting negative comments, please relish your anonymity. You are free to call her any names you wish, but, remember that namecalling reflects more on the one calling names than on the one called names. Most of you will never achieve any position as high as Sarah already has achieved, so who has sour grapes? Who are the losers? Seems clear to me.

stella blue   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

The only difference between the experience and intelligence of Barack Obama and Sarah Palin is marketing. It is scary to see how many people do not understand how impartial and how manipulative the media has become. If you look just at their accomplishments, it is evident that Palin has more leadership ability than Obama. It's going take a long time for the truth about Obama to get through to most of you.

jad   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

I wish she would go away, her 15 minutes are up.
Oh, and her comparison to Caroline Kennedy is not accurate. Kennedy should be subject to scrutiny, but she is vying for a Senate seat, not the vice-presidency. The level of scrutiny will be different because those are different positions. Of course, Palin demonstrated that she did not understand the role of the vice-president, so she probably does not understand the distinction.

David   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

How is the media's fault that Palin is a habitual liar and dimwit?

Tina, NC   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

Shame on the media for implying that she had foreign policy experience just because she could see Russia from her house. Shame on the media for not stating what newspapers she reads, and shame on the media for such sexist questions as to what the VP does.
Yeah, keep blaming the media for your OWN WORDS or lack of Palin. It worked so well the first time.

Bob   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

For the first time in my life I am NOT proud of my country.

John   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

Let me get this straight, the media attacks Palin's kids & that's OK, but Chelsey Clinton was untouchable, and not one word has been said about Obama's kids. LIberal double standard if you ask me.

chuck   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

SARAH ,HERE WE GO AGAIN. YOU ARE SO STUPID THAT YOU CANNOT EXPLAIN WHAT YOU MEAN AND YOU CANNOT APPREND WHAT PEOPLE ARE TELLING YOU ON THE BLOG. DON'T YOU GET IT? STAY OUT OF THE MEDIA THEN THERE WILL BE NOTHING TO REPORT.AVOID MAKING STATEMENTS ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN AND LIFE WILL BE BETTER IN THE FUTURE. FOR YOUR FUTURE IN POLITICS---FORGET ABOUT THE WHOLE IDEA. STAY AT HOME AND ENJOY YOUR TLC WITH YOUR HUSBAND.

Robert   January 9th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

The bottom line here is simple. Gov. Palin can say and do what she wants( within the law). The media can report stories on her is they want. You and I can keep updated on her status if we want.

There are only three things everyone in the world needs to do each day: 1) Watch your thoughts 2) Watch your speech 3) Watch your actions.

These are important things to do each day. They have nothing to do with anyone else except for the fact that if we watched these three things in ourselves everyday, we would find a kinder, gentler more peaceful world.

Sam Pita   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

She speaks the truth. I know it's easier to call her stupid than it is to actually debate the intelligent points she make but give her a break. She's earned at least that much by now. I don't expect that to happen though. I expect the same old tired "Republican stupid" joke to continue followed by media fawning and awards for those who rip Palin (aka Tina Faye).

Marge   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

Carrie Goodeagle Hayden, Idaho   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

She is a disgrace to the Women's Movement, Oh I said women. Sorry, Sarah, I forgot you think like a teenie bopper, you just need to grow up. Spit out the bubble gum, stop winkin' and all that other cutsie childish behavior, then maybe people will respect you a little more. No one really takes you serious, and I watched what you said about Caroline and Katie, Oops, your female jealousy was certainly on exhibition there.

MEL   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

It was very bad judgment for Palin to fly back to AK while being in labor. What about if there would have been an emergency. that was number # 1. Me as a mom I would had run to the nearest hospital. and regarding that questions that Couric ask???? sorry but frankly, you were suppose to answer them. were just simple questions. and we did not like that way you divided us. calling President Obama terroritst. So are you palling around with drugtraffickers now?????

reasoner   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

I didn't vote for McCain due to his running mate; i.e., Palin; however, I agree with Palin on what she says about the media. Freedom of press is killing America. Katie Couric is a 'giggly wimp!' She is hung up on herself like Hillary Clinton is. They both make me sick!
Giggle for me Katie!

Another Mama   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

99% of the time I disagree with Sarah Palin, but she has a point here. Leave her children alone, and maybe she will say nothing worth printing in the lower 48.

Robe   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

Gov. Palin,

The truth will eventually come out. You said that you delivered Trig at the hospital on a certain day and time. Unfortunately, the hospital that you named to not have record of you having a baby there.

Also, your daughter was out of school the whole of that year. Now she has 2 babies and is only 18. You have lied so much about everything, how do you think anyone is going to believe you now.

Kim   January 9th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

People keep commenting on her because they like the bizarre. This one can't get any worse. It's like watching a fire, or a wreck, or a disaster on TV. You really don't want to watch in case anyone is hurt, but when they set the fire themselves, wreck due to their own stupidity, or cause a disaster without even knowing, then it becomes entertainment. Sort of like bad reality TV.

ross berg- Buffalo, NY   January 9th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

The gift to the Dem's who keeps on giving! Is it possible that somehow she just might get onto the '012 ticket???

I'm sure that the best and brightest minds in the Democratic camp are busy at work figuring out everything they can do to help that happen.

If they can manuever things so Sarah Palin is part of the Republican's 012 ticket they can go on a lengthy vacation during the campaign as Sarah will insure thier victory!!!

What a gift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon   January 9th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

Palin is right. Even the liberals are admitting that they are engaging in a double-standard here. But liberals have always been hypocrites. And, hey, have you heard the gays moaning about everything these days?!

Michelle from Wisconsin   January 9th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

Gary of El Centro, Ca   January 9th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

That darned "media" is always out to get her.....especially that evil Katie Couric who asked her those trick questions that nobody could possibly answer right, like "what publications do you read?" .......how unfair!

Kerry in VA   January 9th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

The media not blame. Sarah knew she was unqualified for the job of VP. She dragged her family in front of the media. Society has not changed.People are going to talk about you whether its good or bad. If she wanted to protect her children she should not have paraded them around the press. She is not the victim. Stop blaming people for your mistakes Palin. If you want to blame someone, blame McCain.

Frank in Idaho   January 9th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

I just had to copy and repost this comment from a Real American.

Read it slowly and take in as much of the hate as you possibly can, then exhale and realize they will lose all their power in 13 days:

"Seriously, Hope? Caroline Kennedy is qualified to be a Senator because she "graduated from an Ivy League college" and "has written books'? Really? And for all you stupid liberals complaining about "another Palin story" the answer is real simple: DON'T READ IT, DON'T CLICK ON IT, SCROLL PAST IT YOU NIMRODS!!!"

James   January 9th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

If only all politicians could be treated with kid gloves like the press did with Obama.

against racism   January 9th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

whats up with that comment from shaggy... if not for affirmative action obama would be working in a paper mill..? if you were smart you would research the presidential candidates and their backgrounds. he's not exactly dumb. just because you don't agree with his political and moral standings doesn't mean that he isn't qualified for the job.

Karen Finkbeiner   January 9th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

I believe Sarah has been an easy target for the journalistic vultures. With the present state of our nation no one really believed that the Republicans would be given a CHANCE, If given the chance I believe we would have seen a difference, a change. I do believe that rural citizens do have a different life than the "urbanites" and should not be criticized for it. Leave Ms. Palin and her family alone.

MV   January 9th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

If Palin really wants to stay in the news so bad, she should do all men a favor and make a porn! I know I would pay good money for that.

Tim   January 9th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

Okay this is stupid. It didn't work out. Accept it and move on. You just need to take responsibility for your own failures and stop blaming everyone else. Just should not have been chosen in the first place, plain and simple. I have nothing personal against Palin, she was used by McCain.

kenny cole   January 9th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

Hockey Mom unfortunate i believe anything i read about you

Tim   January 9th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

Actually, I think Palin is right. Trig should not be subject.

Unless, of course, Todd isn't the father. I wonder, was Todd's best friend with Sarah during those long Alaska nights?

Leyda Figueroa   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

Well Sarah, to paraphrase what you said about Barack Obama's so called connection with the Bomber nut. "If he has a connection with this domestic terrorist then that is something the public would want to know about." Well Sarah "If you lied about who's child your claiming as your own, then it is something the public would want to know about." Sarah please, please, please just STOP TALKING! It is not your strong suit because you forget the other "Stories" you've told.

e.jachim   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

GIVE IT UP, Sarah.
Honestly, didn't you learn anything? You are probably a really nice person just totally unsuited and ill prepared for any kind of elected or public job.
Keep your head down, your mouth shut and get on with trying to be some kind of governor. Please no more comments about seeing Russia from your windows etc.

Marge   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

STFU@Sarah Palin.
I saw parts of this interview and she is just as DUMB now as she was during the campaign!
What 'adminstration" does she keep referring to? It seems she's hell-bent on staying in the news. If the GOP is so desperate for a "future leader" that they pin their hopes on this moron, they are truly a pathetic bunch!
The media did not control the vote (((sarah))) the voters did! Accept the message you were sent!
NO HOW NO PALIN!

Randy   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

Why in the world are we still talking about this women? She is nothing to talk about GO away Palin and who gives a rats butt about your kids, so I guess she's still a little pissed about losing, just glad she's not the V.P.

NYC REPUB   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

She will never be Presidential material, as long as she is still hung up on the past election....... plain and simple...... Sarah answered questions very horribly(Katie Couric interview)....... It cost her. People began to look at her as very ill equiped for the WH....... And really could you see Palin, in the financial situation we're in now, making a difference, she told couric she would "get back to her" onsome of the specific things McCain had done to reform or basically back up the maverick rhetoric spewed heavily during their campaign, she said, I'll get back to you, or mail em to ya, whatever ....... John McCain is a war president we already had one in Bush(well Bush had to become one)..... McCain should have been the Republican choice in 2000.... he would have handled the wars differently...... We are now in an era of financial instability, 2 wars and half the eastern world wants to kill each other....... Our problems require pragmatic thinkers..... I like Sarah, but she will never be ready for a presidential run, w/ her far right rhetoric...... independents, and dems won't vote for her.......She needs to start focusing on real issues, and lay off the culture wars, and ideological polarizing views she upholds.

Robe   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

Shaggy,

You are stupid. FIrst of all, affirmative action does not get you into Harvard. Secondly, I guess you do not recognize intelligence and unintelligence since you are obviously in the latter group.

Gov. Palin has shown that her intelligence level is very low. Sure she completed college after 6 years and received a degree in journalism. Evidently, she failed to put that degree in use, since she is incable of saying a grammatically correct sentence, nor writing one.

Don't blame Obama because he is intelligent and uses his intelligence. Higher education is out there for all to obtain it.

WV anon   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

I am just sick of her and her ramblings. She makes no sense, doesn't know much of anything and is a sorry example of a political figure.
She needs to get over her beauty queen mentality and into the real world.

TomT   January 9th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

The only mention I see of Palin in the media lately is Palin complaining about the media. She's way yesterday's news, and if she'd just go back to Alaska and be quiet, the media would be done too.

DocF   January 9th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

It's pointless to whine about certain media elements not letting the 'Trig is Gov. Palin's baby" story go away. I barely remember that story, but I do remember the "Obama is a Muslim" story that never went away, or the "Obama is not a US citizen" story that even turned into a court case handed to the US Supreme Court. The point is this happens to everybody thrust (or who thrusts themselves) into the public eye, and a good politician will be the one who can ignore this drivel and move on. Whining about it now just shows weakness and a lack of political fortitude.

ZenInBlack   January 9th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

Sarah What goes around comes around. You spent the whole campaign taking other's situation out of context. Being that you are so religious – As you sow so shall you reap

Nadine   January 9th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

Sarah Palin definitely was used by John McCain. It's OK, she turned the campaign into a "hate mob" but want the media to apologize to her for sexism. Wrong!

Wil   January 9th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

Notice to the Right:
#1. This train wreck is of your making. You are so set in your ways that you rallied behind an unqualified, remotely literate person just because the campaign of your party said so. Our VP may not be the most tactful VP, but he is leaps and bounds better than who the Right was trying to put in. #2. I hope that the country will now look alot more closely to the politicians our respective parties puts forth for national office. In a desperate effort to win, the McCain campaign spun a woman who communicates with run-on sentences, who ostrisized urban america by qualifying where the "real america" resides as someone who could potentially be LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD. Shame on your Win at all Cost Mentality

Peggy from IA   January 9th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

She speaks. I listen and still do not understand what she's talking about..other than the poor me stuff. Is this an Alaskan way of speaking or can't she make complete sense of her thoughts? I just think she cannot make herself understood properly. How would anyone ever in a trillion years think she'd make it as a president is beyond comprehension. Just like her lingo.

Why do the left wing liberals hate Sarah Palin so much? She has done nothing to deserve all this hate from everyday americans, especially her family. But, based on the comments, it doesn't matter, you just want to pile on because it makes you feel better to make fun of someone else. You know Obama has fooled you all. He has been taking pills to change his skin color from white to black. He is really a conservative in sheeps clothing. 4 yrs from now he will begin to look more like Michael Jackson.

“As a public official, I expect criticism and I expect to be held accountable for how I govern,”

Unfortunately, because you are a public official, your personal life is an issue. And because you are a public official, your family is also in the spotlight, unfortunately.
Maybe they do things differently in Alaska, but welcome to the lower 48, you finally see how things are really done.

Would have been nice if the press would have realized obama is a public official and not ask him silly questions like "What kind of dog are you getting"? I think that's the hardest question he got. I guess he got away without his family or himself being examined due to the fact he lives in the upper 57 states uh?

Fedup   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Governor Palin, let the past be gone. History will judge as it always does. You are just justifying our worst fears about you.

CNN and the rest of the media... why do you still bother with a BORING subject.

stevens   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

will this ever end??

Montanan   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Linda Lee,
You're right, thousands of Americans do support her. Unfortunately, that doesn't bode well against the 64 million who just showed their support for Obama.

Kraig   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Good for Govener Palin. She has the guts to tell it like it is. The media is corrupt and if a scientific poll was ever taken it would show how much the citizens of the USA loath them. They are nothing more than a bunch of high priced puppets for the far left. This country needs more Govener Palin's.

Makes you wonder if Trig is not really Bristol's child, why else would she use the name of Tripp for her newborn? Is she just crazy for names that begin with the letter T?

kcl   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

The way the media covers any story is nothing new. They will twist and turn facts or words to get a great sound bite. Stop feeding them and move on with your life. Your 15 minutes are up.

Correcter   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Let's get it right: Bill Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn were indeed terrorists, and unabashedly so. The only question was whether Mr. Obama was "palling around" with them, or merely interacting with them on some lesser basis. The comments of posters here who question the first proposition reflect clearly the distorting influence the media has had.

Ken   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Wow, "personal, salacious" reporting in the media?

I'm glad the Alaska Governor's office pointed this out.

I've never seen such a thing . . .

grace   January 9th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Sarah who?

Bob in Glendale, KY   January 9th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Not sure who these stories, and subsequent comments, appeal to, but except for a few, I'm guessing these appeal to fricking idiot left wing homos, and homo-ettes. Whoever came up with the stupid premise that Trig is not Palin's child, should first do a FOIA request or whatever is applicable in the med world to prove his claim, before spouting it off in print. No proof? Don't make the claim.

Fred   January 9th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Again, Sarah Palin brought her family into the campaign, making them public figures. She could have left them in Alaska. She made the issue of how proud she was of her pregnant, unwed teen daughter, of her husband, her son going to Iraq, etc. Now she reaps what she sows.
