This is wonderful news! I am so proud of Barack and Michelle for doing the right thing and allowing this loving grandmother (and just an all around great lady) to live them in the White House. Now I know that the two first daughters-to-be will have someone who's there to look out for them and guide them.

If these "haters" took a moment to check the facts, they would see that the First Family must reimburse the government on a per person basis for each person who resides or stays at the White House. So, it will be the Obama family (not the taxpayers) who will be footing the bill for Mrs. Robinson to reside (at least temporarily) with the family at the White House.

I think it's a wonderful idea. It is very obvious that the Obama/Robinson family are a loving, caring unit. How wonderful it would be if all married couples had a Mother In Law that could move in be there for her grandchildren and all could cohabitate together happily. I dont see a problem here. The kids need a continuity of care with their Grandma. The Obama's will be busy enough with their dutues, and needs to know that when they go about doing their jobs for the country that Grandma will be a trusting hand away. She can always go back and forth to Chicago when she is not needed. And by the way, not all mother in laws are bad people. Many of them make a world of a difference in their children's lives. I can't imagine what I would do without my mother wife or not.

I think it's great that the girls will have their grandmother there with them, and from everything I've read, PE Obama actually gets along well with her and likes her. She'll be a great help when he and Michelle have to attend to business, travel, etc. Good for them!

It is terrific. I grew up with my grandparents in our home and they were incredible influences on my life. This is a wonderful example of family love for all of us to honor.

Good for her. The granddaughters will benefit from her being there.

Grandparents can be awesome to have around, and help raise the kids or influence morals and generally love the grandkids...

I think alot of people will be a little miffed that she "quit her job to come live in the big ole' white house" on taxpayers money, with servants and such.

They have cooks, housekeepers, chauffeurs, secret service and a father with the biggest Messiah complex since Christ himself...the kids will be fine and my tax dollars can be spent better on things that actually matter.

Woman in California, if you read a bit more carefully, you'll note grandma is trying this out for a few months. It could be that after that trial period she might decide what you suggest. You'll note she didn't choose to move into their Hyde Park home. She said originally that she didn't relish living in the White House...maybe she will, maybe she won't. It's my opinion that is a "family matter."

We now know which is the party of family values. I applaude the Obama's for having Mrs. Robinson live with them and help raise their 2 daughters. These young girls need stability in their lives. They have been moved from their Chicago home into the White House. Granny can help them make the adjustment and be there when the President and First Lady may be away on business. Better to have someone with your values there to take care of the kids than some stranger/nanny. This will not only help the girls, but it will allow the President to concentrate on State affairs and lead this country. Again, cudos to Barack and Michelle Obama and Mrs. Robinson for being such a caring, loving family and example to the rest of this country.

As a grandma living close by her many grandchildren, I'm sure it will be very handy to the new first family. Dad and Mom will surely have many social engagements and trips around the country. Who better to stay with the children? I think it's great and I'd love to be in her shoes.

My own grandmother died when I was 18. After thirty years I still miss her like it was yesterday. I'd welcome her into my home in a heartbeat would God give me the opportunity. The Obama daughters are the luckiest girls alive to have their grandmother with them in the fishbowl.

A grandmother's influence and care is one of the best gifts parents can give to their children. A lot of problems we see in young people today is because we have separated them from their grandparents and do not involve them (grandparents) in raising up our children.

The PE and First Lady-to-be are right on target in involving their children's grandmother in their raising.

I think this is a really good idea. I believe the children, Michelle and yes even the PE will need Mrs. Robinson in the coming months. Remember Barack just lost his grandmother whom I'm sure he consulted about everyday life issues. At least they will all have an elder close by. This matters more than we probably know...

While I know she is definitely needed to care for the young children, personally, I think she should buy a condo around the area and let them live a private life. Just my opinion.

I think its great that the girls will continue to have stability in their lives. Michelle is going to be very busy with her First Lady duties, though one can tell she always puts her daughters first. It will help to have their Grandma there since both President and Mrs. Obama will have to travel in their new roles.
