Bush's final White House press conference will be held Monday.

(CNN) — The White House announced Monday that President Bush would hold his final White House press conference this morning.

“As we start our final full week here in the White House, President Bush will hold his last press conference at 9:15a.m. in the James Brady Press Briefing Room," spokeswoman Dana Perino said in a statement sent to reporters.

"The President will make a brief opening statement, commenting on the important role the White House press corps has in covering presidents and the White House, and then will take questions. The President is looking forward to discussing the important events of the last eight years as well as issues in the news today.”

coming together   January 12th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

We need to move on as a nation and see what we can do as individuals to change our country. After 9/11 we all came together. Will it take another tragedy for that to happen again? We need to come together as communities. We have schools that can't by toilet paper much less educate our kids. We have homes and churches in foreclosure. We have families being separated as dad leaves to find work while mom and the kids move in with family. If we don't come together, volunteer, US & Municipal savings bonds to finance governments instead of foriegn money, we will never make it to the America we were or could be.

People seem to have forgotten that the Enron scandal (Nov. 2001) broke during the Bush watch also. Then the country entered into recession in Dec. 2007 but was not reported until Dec. 2008.

THAT'S THE WAY IS WAS THE DARKEST DAYS OF OUR HISTORY. GEORGE BUSH, ACCEPT YOUR MISTAKES, MISTAKES WITH THOUSANDS TIMES UNDERLINED WITH THE LETTER """""""""""S""""""""""""""". THE PRESIDENT WHO WAS THE DIRECT CAUSE OF THE DEATH OF OVER 4220 YOUNG MILITARY HEROES WHO LOSS THEIR LIVES BECAUSE OF THE MISGUIDED DECISION OF THIS IDIOT. ALL THOSE PARENTS, FATHERS AND MOTHERS, HUSBANDS AND WIFES, SONS AND DAUGHTERS ARE STILL WAITING TO HEAR THAT THE DEATH OF THEIR BELOVED ONES WAS HIM, HIM CALLED GEORGE BUSH. THIS IDIOT WHO IS STILL TALKING. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT OUR COUNTRY, THE GREATEST COUNTRY, COULD AND SHOULD SACRIFICE SO MUCH FOR AN IDIOT WHO CAUSE NOTHING BUT DIDASTER… AND MOST OF ALL STILL TALKING. SHAME ON THIS IDIOT AND ON ALL THOSE WHO STILL SUPPORT THIS MISGUIDED PERSON NAMED GEORGE BUSH.

To all the liberal meatheads on here…

1. Some of you have mentioned the "surplus" Bush inheritted from Clinton. Hmmmm….sorry people when you cut military spending to the point where when you have to go to war and you don't have enough body armor for your soldiers….that is not a surplus….that is ignoring essential "services"…..its called mismanagement.

2. The clinton Economy? It was all a fraud…..how many of those "internet companies" that made the stock market soar during Clinton's years are still around….hmmm lets see amazon, ebay, yahoo…yep that pretty much sums that up. The other part of his ecoomy was simplying causing a public panic and useless government spending to take care of that imaginary "Y2K" problem…..you know the same thing Obama is doing with this "global warming problem"

3. Thank you President Bush for keeping us safe the last 7 years. For some reason, even though a bipartisan comission said so, these libs can't understand how 9/11 was being planned under your predescesor….But seriously thank you for keeping us safe. These libs are just mad because of the wiretapping and they couldn't order their weed and opium over the phone any more.

4. Thank you for freeing millions of Human Beings around the world from the atrocious hands of dictators.

5. Thank you for SAVING the economy after 9/11.

And most of all…thank you for being yourself….it is good to see someone stand by principles rather than changing in the wind to see what is popular….you sacrificed alot for this country President Bush….and except for the crazy libs on here who wouldn't give you credit if you fathered the Messiah (Barry O)….history will vindicate

CBC   January 12th, 2009 12:05 pm ET

Don't be surprised if Bush and his Daddy didn't threaten Obama and his family, in order to keep HIS Daddy's agenda going. I can see them in that 'private closed door meeting' and Bush Sr. coming through a side door with Cheney to let Obama know that his family will be offed if he doesn't do as they wish.

Bush, McCain, Cheney, and the like wish to gain control of the world through war.

WE CAN NOT LET THAT HAPPEN.

WHO DIED AND MADE AMERICA GOD??

GOOGLE zeitgeist

WATCH the entire TWO videos, zeitgeist and the addendum. You'll see why we are in the state we are in and why we have been in debt since this country was founded.

This problem DID NOT start with the Clinton administration. It started with the founding of this country and the 'Federal Reserve'

Goodbye Bush, enjoy Saudi Arabia.

Shawn - GA   January 12th, 2009 11:36 am ET

I think it is sad how so many people come on these blogs and comment as if they have any idea what they are talking about. We civilians have no idea what goes on fully, I am sure history will paint the truth. Be is a positive or negative one, however making such hateful comments while having little information just goes to show how ignorant people are. You believe 1 person made everything bad happen? Really? Talk about a scape goat.

I am very concerned for PE Obama. He is human, he is just a man and he has to work within the same system. He can not possibly change as much as people are thinking he will, it is not possible. I pray that the warm fuzzy feelings do continue so he can get things done, I just see that people in that system are already turning on him and he has not even moved in yet.

Conservative Independent   January 12th, 2009 11:30 am ET

This man does not have a clue. He doesn't even understand half the questions asked to him. He is so flippant and arrogant. I hope he does have trouble looking into the mirror, knowing that he was the first and only president in our history to wage a pre-emptive war. How many beautiful faces, young service men and women, innocent Iraqis are missing from our world because of this mans silly ideas? He is the silliest man on the planet. He is a simple minded, stupid fool and what he has done to his nation and the world is unforgivable. I don't see how he can live with himself. Listening to him, he can't even accept any responsibilty for any thing he has done. The blame goes to everyone but himself. What a silly, stupid little man. How pathetic he is. God help President Obama and all Americans. I don't know if we can recover from this debacle.

Fellow Americans i am glad that the 8 yrs are over and wish i could stay long to make sure the economy keepd going where is going. Extend our military offensive in Iraq, Make sure i dont say anything for or against Israel-Palestinian war…..and so many other great acheivements. I made sure there was no other 911 (even if the first ever came at my watch). I know you will all miss me and thank me for everything i did for you. Thanks and God bless

John Starnes Tampa Florida   January 12th, 2009 9:18 am ET

Perhaps he will rightly and simply say "I am SO very sorry for what I have done to all of you, Iraq, the world and America" then leave the podium. No…that would require a conscience and humility.

Joyce E Neal   January 12th, 2009 9:17 am ET

Noah   January 12th, 2009 9:16 am ET

I for one, will be thankful to this President for keeping us all safe for 7 years during some of the most dangerous periods in our nation's history. How many of us thought on September 12, 2001 that we would be attacked within a week, a month or even a year? Most of us did and the Bush administration kept that from happening. As a conservative I have a lot of issues with Presdient Bush, especially his fiscally irresponsible spending. However, I am certain that within a few years his legacy will be significantly repaired.

California Gold   January 12th, 2009 9:13 am ET

Thanks most importantly for caring more about the Iraqis and not saving your american citizens on time during Katrina. Also…… Where is Osama?

The Decider steps down   January 12th, 2009 9:09 am ET

What a great day for America..the Decider steps down.. America blames Bush for the disaster he leaves behind.. but gee folks you voted him in twice!!!
That pretty much sends a clear signal of trust and he took advantage of the situation.
Anyway, bring on a man with caring and intelligence and values.. the whole world needs Barack.. and may God watch over him and his family!!

Venia   January 12th, 2009 9:03 am ET

Too little, too late.

The last week of the presidency is probably a little too late to try and start a meaningful dialogue about the "issues" the country has had to deal with under your watch.

AND does anyone really care what a president who distains thinking too much thinks, if an when he does think about something?

I don't think so.
