Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson did give fair interviews. Sarah Palin was not prepared. Palin went into this campaign as a possible VP and did not have the background necessary to carry her campaign with knowledge and experience. I agree with Mike Huckabee; however, why is this a subject for discussion? I believe we have very serious issues that need consideration. The Republicans should think about rebuilding their party.

Sarah Palin has no one to blame but herself for her crash landing after a false meteoric rise. With her "sentences to nowhere" she became the laughing stock of America and a living joke. She is an intellectual lightweight who will N E V E R be ready for prime time.

After six years as an undergraduate it is not a big deal she can read a teleprompter. People mistook her reading skills as intelligence and wit. Unfortunately, she could only wow a crowd when she parroted the words of others. When left to think and speak for herself she crashed and burned.

There is an old say, "It is better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." There is NO WAY Palin can be a serious contender for the presidency in 2012...well, unless all Americans of voting age are lobotomized!!!

Instead of Governor Palin telling the people of Alaska and the USA what she learned from her campaign experience, what policies she would like to institute as a result, & what things she is focusing on to be better prepared as a leader , she trashes the media for letting her tell the truth about herself. And lies, narcisssism, and the truth ain't pretty. In adition, if she wanted to keep her family 'off limit's she wouldn't have paraded them on stage, wouldn't have given interviews in People Magazine about them, wouldn't have let the likes of Greta into her home with cameras, wouldn't have billed the state of Alaska for (past) family travel, or let her husband get involved in state business (Troopergate). Give Mr. Hucklebee credit for being polite to a whimpering pit bull with lipstick.

Palin is not up to the job of president, in my opinion. She is a light-weight. She is quick with a country witticism but, as it has been said so many times before, there simply is no "there" there.

I'm sorry for her and those that believe that she would make a great president. The Oval Office needs to be occupied by the best America's has, not a one-dimensional meat bag with the world view of a termite. We already have that T-shirt and it no longer fits, thank you very much!

I always thought that the way the media pigeon-holed Huckabee as being solely an evangelical candidate with solely evangelical appeal was unfortunate. In the early days CNN didn't seem to know what they wanted and FOX were clearly backing Romney. Don't get me wrong, I support Obama but I do think that Huckabee could have given him a much closer run. The guy has the Obama-like quality of appearing honest and truthful. As regards his comments on this issue I think he is spot on. Could be an interesting 2012 if he gets the nomination.

I like Mike Huckabee but I don't agree with him. Sarah Palin wasn't allowed to give many interviews. They wanted to her cram everything in her head. Her answers didn't seem natural and maybe not very smart. But the media was unfair to her. Reguardless of what anyone says.

Did any of you actually watch the interview? Really?

Khelley illustrates Palin's point about the sleaze the MSM threw at her on page one and mopped up on page 32, if at all.

I honestly believe Palin is not an idiot. I believe hers was a textbook example of a botched rollout to a hostile press. But since she didn't control her rollout she doesn't deserve the blame. If she had been running for president herself then she would deserve all she got. But that's not the case.

And since Palin is giving an interview to a man making a documentary about media coverage of her, it is appropriate (not whining) for her to discuss her representation in the media, both in news and entertainment. I saw the interview and thought in her tone was more sadness that this is what the world had come to, the celebrity-paparazzi-tabloid headline news machine that really deserves to be condemned, rather than any kind of "please love me."

Make an effort to turn off your Palin blinders. Walk the hope and new politics you talked in the election. Peace.

Sue B there was a 2nd supreme court decision that Palin should have been familar with since she is on record disagreeing with it in 2008, but she couldn't remember disagreeing with it, hmmmm. Doesn't sound good does it? I do not like the way that Palin came out at the convention and started her hate attacking everyone that didn't agree with her. And I was totally appalled by those buttons the republicans were wearing at the convention, and they had the nerve to cry sexism when they were wearing those buttons. what a joke that whole campaign was.

Huckleberry can be too doggone honest but at least he is funny to listen to. Whether that translates to a viable candidate remains to be seen. Painlin, on the other hand, is simply too incredible to be true. Some people are humble on their good fortune while others ride their luck to death. Well, my extreme distaste for Palin arises from her abominable record on animal welfare and environmental issues, her unblinking ability to keep on spouting the same lies over and over again after they have been publicly shown to be lies, her selling of her children as publicity props while at the same time crying "foul" when her parenting skills are questioned, her absolute disdain for science and other actual knowledge, especially if it in any way contradicts her extremely narrow and skewed world view, etc. I could go on for pages.

So no, my distate for Palin has nothing to do with SNL and everything to do with Palin herself.

And, what was with all of the questioning of Palin about foreign policy experience? Did they ask those questions, in the same manner, of Bill Clinton? Hmmm, what foreign policy experience did the governor of one of the smallest and poorest states have before taking on the mantle of President (much less Vice President as would have been in the case of Palin)?

The reporting was very unfair and sexist about Palin. Whether you hated her and still thought she was a bad choice, dumb, or the like, please stop and ask whether a man or a Democrat would have been asked the same questions in the same manner.

Though I'm a Democrat, I respect Huckabee. The guy ran the most civil campaign I've yet to see--he never insinuated anything about his opponents that wasn't true. He is 100% correct--and very charitable--as characterizing Palin's interview with Couric as "not good." Palin is an airhead. She doesn't know the issues, she slanders opponents ("palling around with terrorists"--come on!) and doesn't have an original idea in her head. The only reason some Republicans want her at the top of their party is that she is so manipulable due to her vast ignorance. If the Republicans want to gain any ground, they had better find a leader that is informed and has and original, conservatively-oriented agenda--and someone who knows the "straight-talk express" better than McCain. American voters won't be as easy to manipulate, and Dems have learned the art of shooting down phony accusations. Wake up, Republicans. I would welcome your resurgence, but you have to earn it.

Palin states an obvious fact, and the media keep dogging her hoping she will shut up. Trying to kill her reputation so she won't have a chance in 2012. I wish other public figures weren't so afraid of the media and the voting public (the sheep who believe everthing they see on network, cable and PBS. The same voters who believe every promise made by professional, power hungry, self motivated politicians. But, alas, there are too few who don't stick their finger in the wind to get a vote. Who promise the world to voters, and keep them under their thumbs until the next election. There is REAL hope though. Truth always prevails. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. Our children and grandchildren can't afford to wait much longer. We're quickly heading to Third World Politics and Poverty with the same type politicians. A free media won't last much longer under those conditions. The national media should be sued for malpractice.
