Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

I sometimes think that these bloggers are actually some of the political so called handlers. They write like they are trying to be dumb.

I don't think that anyone expected Palin to be so popular, so they went after her to discredit her anyway that they could.

If she were to run again, I do hope she selects her own handlers.

I saw nothing wrong with her clothes. After all these same people that are bashing her were the ones that did the shopping. Not a word is ever said about Pelosi's clothes or have you not noticed her taylor made (not off the rack) clothes.

Not a mention of the foolish spending in Washington.

Some in the media has forgotten how to do their job. Their job has now become "YELLOW JOURNALISM'

What does it matter really? Her son or not her son, is it really that big of a deal?

Pff, everyone needs to try looking at something important rather than digging up every little scrap of information and trying to turn it into controverse.

I agree with Palin, it's pathetic!

Gov. Palin, have not you ever heard that SUCCESS IS THE BEST REVENGE? If you want the American people to believe that you are competent and capable, then let your record speak for you.

Media folks, KIDS ARE OFF LIMITS!

Sarah Palin is a Governor of Alaska, right? I realize that Alaska has only three industries, two of them (fishing and tourism) are shut down for the winter and oil companies usually take care of themselves.
But there must something else she can do?!
Please people of Alaska, find something to keep Sarah busy!

What on earth is this uneducated woman on about now? She has a VERY dim knowledge of correct written English and her understanding of the spoken language is SERIOUSLY flawed. From the endless stream of her remarks, take the Russian/Alaskan proximity quote. What the fact that one can physically see Russia from Alaska as proof of foreign policy experience is beyond me. She now claims it was a joke and that the remark was taken out of context. It did NOT come across as that when she said it IN context. It came across as what she saw as a seriously positive factor in her foreign policy experience and/or program. She also says she has "....got a lot of great life experience..." Such a description is virtually meaningless – it's not even literate English – and on that basis, countless millions of Americans could run for the Presidency! Send her back to school.

Exactly. The so-called anonymous, pathetic bloggers are just fine with her as long as she agrees with them, or they agree with her, or they are spreading the malicious, hate-filled lies that she loves so well.

And again, SHE is the one dredging up all of the tales from the campaign trail that she supposedly never wants to hear again. Those poor children of hers!

She is pathologicallly immature, completely amoral, and would have been a clear and present danger to this country if she had somehow been elected VP.

If Sarah wants a shot at the presidency in 2012, bashing the media isn't exactly a wise career move. (We all wish she'd go away!)

In Ms. Palin's world, it's everyone else's fault. Sound familiar?

(Thing is, though – we knew this is how she thought during the campaign. Now that it's over, can we be spared from her? Report on her if she offers her opinion on energy policy, not bloggers that "annoy" her. Please.)

What a moron. Someone please explain to her what the word "context" means? It's painful watching an ignoramus repeatedly use a word they don't understand.

She is a Diva, she can't stand being out of the lime light and she will do anything and say anything to keep herself in the news, and she comes off as a whine bag..........she comes off blaming anybody and everybody but herself for the bad and negative media coverage that she has gotten........if the McCain campaign had given her more leverage to call her own shots she would have screwed things up even more than they already were.........she is ruining all chances of her running and getting elected in 2012.........she is losing even those people that were her faithful followers, she would do best to just keep her mouth shut and go about her running Alaska and just forget about what the bloggers are saying about her.......but she won't......

I don't understand how this woman was elected a governor. She's is obviously not very intelligent and unfortunately McCain gave her time in the spotlight. Now since the spotlight's bulb has burned out she has to say stupid things like this to get her face back in the news.

Palin, I sure hope you don't win re-election when the time comes. Your career in politics, heck, even as a human being will hopefully be over soon.
