Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

"Alikeness"? .......... Do they speak another language in Alaska?

Also, I don't understand the bit about the baby. "Do you believe me or my doctor".... what does that mean? Does the doctor have a different story about the kid that she has?

I can never figure out what the hell this woman is saying.

    PLEASE JUST SHUT UP!!!
AFTER SEEING THE ELECTION RESULTS AND HOW NEW YORK VOTED COMPAIRED TO ALASKA, I'D HAVE TO SAY... EVEN THE DUMBEST NEW YORKERS ARE SMARTER THAN THE SMARTEST ALASKANS.
THEY COULD PROVE THEIR INTELLEGENCE BY ELIMINATING HER IN THE NEXT ELECTION!!
MEANWHILE, JUST GETTING HER TO SHUT UP WOULD BE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!!
SHE AND "JOE THE WANNA BE PLUMBER" SHOULD BE DOING CORRESPONDENCE WORK TOGETHER... FROM SIBERIA

I agree fully that discussion of who the Baby belongs too should be off limits. My problem is Gov Palin being asked a simple question about what she reads and some how thats gottcha journalism?? Gov Palin did not cost the Republican party the election G.W Bush did !! The public is going to want to measure a canidates knowledge and experiance during a campaign ....Asking about how a canidate comes by thier experiance or knowledge is good journalism !! Gov Palin should recognize that before she decides to run on the National stage again. Chris G

A note to Sarah: The election is over and you LOST. There are much more important things going on in this world than what you think of people and events. You are not a part of "big time" and your comment that you should have controlled more on the campaign indicates what an ego you really do have. You were NOT the primary person on the campaign. John Mc Cain was and he should have been calling the shots. I am sure you agreed to anything to get on the ticket but after a loss you imply that had you been in charge, things would be different. Let me tell you for sure that the outcome would have been the same only the figures in the loss would be greater. Get a life...take care of your family and your state.

Wow. Too bad she wasn't callin' the shots. Then President-Elect Obama might have won about 47 states. I am sure she will be a force in 2012.

Who cares what the haters say.

I graduated magna cum laude from a university, was constantly surrounded by liberals, i have lived in rural upstate NY with plenty of rednecks, as well as the ghetto of a big city with people of all colors and from all walks of life. (Just as a side note, I have met white people who are racist- and i have also met many black and hispanics who are racist... its not just white people who are racist.) I'm well educated and well cultured, and I have had many one on one conversations with intelligent and prestigious professors, and I have always held my own.

Sarah Palin is the real deal, and I like her. Sarah, nor her supporters, are dumb. Frankly, its quite elitist and snobbish to imply that. You don't like her opinions and political positions, thats fine. Deal with it. Come to NY, debate me any time you like.

interesting....now you know what Challenges Barack Obama faced with bored lying pathertic bloggers who picked up some of the lies you said about him i.e palling around with terrorists and those bloggers perpetuated the hate. So Palin, just go back home. Your time is up...we have important things to do....i am watching the confirmation of Clinton on CNN and it is nice to see a strong, intelligent woman speak...it has been a while.

Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie? Like the ones who tried to brand Obama as a Muslim, socialist, terrorist, etc? Ms. Palin is cherrypicking her intelligence, and her gripes.

Worry about Alaska. Stop answering, stop talking about it. This is why people make the comment that you just want to stay in the lime light!
You have a state to run, a family to raise, a son in Iraq, a new grandson. If you think the press lies-stay out of it!!!!!

Sarah if you would just keep your mouth shut and not have interviews all the time the bloggers would not be saying anything. You have to be out in the spotlight all the time. Its a good thing you didnt call the shots during the campaign. We have seen enough what came out of you by the hate rallys that you gave and neither you or John did not try to stop this. Mccain was just as bad with his attack ads he had out. But I guess you can see it did neither one of you any good. As you would say it was a task from god that you did not win the election. I think you should see if you can get elected for governer and go from there. If you dont make governer again I dont think you would have much chance for president. The whole usa seen by the interviews you had that you were not qualified to be running for vp. You could of stoped all this talk about your kids if you didnt put them out the national scene everyday. At the republican convention you remarked about Obama being nothing but a community organizer. Well look where it got him. You could not even make it being a governer. If every one is talking about trig not being your child why not but the doctors report on the internet and his birth certificate out. Then you could put all the rummers to rest. But now you wont do that cause you keep wanting to be in the spot light. You should know that the republican party is losing members and if you are any where near the presidental election in 2012 they will loose even more members. But you dont care about your party all you care about is Sarah.

No one tears up during the national anthem at a baseball game. Instead of positioning herself for 2012 by trying to equate inconsequential blogs with the MSM, perhaps she should position herself for 2012 by reading a few books on the US economy, the global economy, and international affairs. Substance is more important than style, Governor.
