Palin slams 'bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie'

Palin has given a steady stream of interviews since Election Day.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin fired a new salvo in her war on the media, unloading in a new interview on her home state paper and “bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie.”

The Alaska governor, who has granted a steady stream of interviews since Election Day, also told an Esquire reporter that she wishes she had told McCain campaign advisors she’d be “callin’ some of the shots.”

"Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me....I'll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig's real mom,” she said, in an interview to be published in the magazine’s March issue.

“And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We're gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it's been quite cryptic the way that my son's birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism."

But Palin said she had adopted a philosophical attitude on the downside of the spotlight. "You have to let it go,” she said. “Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate said again she regretted not taking a greater leadership role during the campaign season. "If I were giving advice to myself back on the day my candidacy was announced, I'd say, Tell the campaign that you'll be callin' some of the shots,” she said. “Don't just assume that they know you well enough to make all your decisions for ya. Let them know that you're the CEO of a state, you're forty-four years old, you've got a lot of great life experience that can be put to good use as a candidate."

Despite a season of barbs aimed at the coastal elites, Palin seemed to offer an olive branch to the Big Apple: "I would think we all tear up during the national anthem at the beginning of a baseball game, don't we? That's an alikeness between Alaskans and New Yorkers," she said.

Update: In an Anchorage Daily News column published last week, the paper's editor said the only questions reporters there had asked about Trig's birth came when the paper undertook a project to debunk conspiracy theories surrounding the event, but that they had abandoned the effort because of a lack of cooperation from the Palin family.

"I don't believe we have ever published in the newspaper a story, a letter, a column or anything alleging a coverup surrounding your maternity," wrote the editor in an e-mail sent to Palin and reprinted on the paper's blog. "In fact, my integrity and the integrity of the newspaper have been repeatedly attacked in national forums for our complicity in the 'coverup.'

Later, he added: "...So I don’t understand the behavior of the governor’s press office. Did the governor not share my email with the press staff? Did the press staff deliberately ignore what I said in order to have a longer list of press 'outrages'? Or are they just sloppy with details? I don’t know."

    Things I wonder:

    1) If she feels this way about journalists, why did she ever study journalism?

    2) How can she blame the campaign staff for her loss? She should ALWAYS have put herself in the leadership role rather than taking orders from them. That's job ONE. If you aren't willing to handle the reins of the campaign and take responsibility for it, what kind of VP would you be? Obviously, a poor one.

obviously most here do not like the Gov. have any of you thought to ask yourself why? What exactly did she do to you and/or your family that has caused you much pain and suffering? Do not hate just because she chooses to live one way and not your way. If you hate so easily and for no good reason then this country will not be able to come together as one no matter who the president is and no matter how much he begs it to be.

The fact is Palin has been secretive and uncooperative about the birth of her son. I believe Trig is her kid. But why not release the birth certificate? She lacks depth and detail and plays the victim. She is a carnival sideshow to many of us Alaskans. Hopefully she has a good year working with our legislature on state issues, quits whining about her treatment and focuses on the issues that will benefit all Alaska families and not just her own.

Actually, alikeness is a word. Just looked it up. I'm as shocked as you are. Betcha, as in "You betcha", however, is not.

Stop showing how petty you really are Sarah, didn't you come away with nice parting gifts? Like the new 180,000 dollars spent on your clothing, that was for you and your family right? If you were a heartbeat away from the presidency, I'd move out.

oh, what ignorant people you all are, the only reason she is still slamming the media, is because they are still slamming her. unlike a democrat, she is a republican, she confronts a problem and tackles it head on, she takes action. now granted some of the things she said are quite absurd, but much of it was taken out of context, when all you people watch is what the liberal media puts out, of course ur gonna think she has no credible things to say. you are all ignorant, it amazes me, i fear for our nation when we have people this outspoken who are so idiotic.

Perhaps in 2012, Sarah Palin will have attained more education and experience in the areas which she is currently deficient. As long as she is governor, she will not have access to foreign trade decisions as that is the responsibility of the Federal Government. I therefore suggest that not only does she enroll into a Graduate Program in International Relations, but focus also on global economics, history, educational administration, business administration, geography, philosophy, communication skills, comparative religion, psychology, community services & development, race relations, native american issues, hispanic issues, and ethics. If she accomplished this, she should be a qualified entry candidate for the 2012 Presidential pool for the Republican Party. I am a Republican and I approve this training.

  19. Hope for the future

Wow, this is unbelievable. She has a family and is governor of Alaska. Yet, she still seems to have too much free times on her hands to constantly follow what the media and others are saying about her. Plus she has enough time to clobber anyone who says anything critical about her.

She seems to be a very bitter person with a low self esteem. Sarah, move on, the election has been over for three months. Stop being so defensive about every little thing.

Sarah Palin, please shut up. You lost (thankfully) so no one really cares if you would have had a say or not in things. O yea, CNN please stop covering her, she is a waste of news.

If Sarah Palin would only comment on national issues (I don't really believe she has a clue..) and stop whining and grating on people's nerves, maybe the bloggers would stop "lying" on her. The more she shows her ignorance, they more they will continue.

Bloggers are real jouranlists? From the movie So I Married An Axe Murderer:

Charlie Mackenzie: Hey Mom, I find it interesting that you refer to the Weekly World News as, "The paper." The paper contains facts.
May Mackenzie: This paper contains facts. And this paper has the eighth highest circulation in the whole wide world. Right? Plenty of facts. "Pregnant man gives birth." That's a fact.

To those who want her to go away...why do you keep responding to everything she says? You are the people who keep her in the news. And I'm amazed at how intelligent all of you are (those that beat her up) if only you were in charge.

I wish that when this woman gets up to speak and there are reporters about, ALL of them, simply turn their backs and walk out. What an IDIOT!!! This is one of the worst of 2008. Sarah Palin should have stayed in the dark, just like she proved to the world that that's where she has been living.

Too bad "lock jaw" is a thing of the past....
