(CNN) - Her bid for the vice presidency ended more than two months ago, but Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appears determined not to become a mere afterthought.
Departing from a historical trend of failed vice presidential candidates who descend into relative obscurity after Election Day, Palin continues to command the intense media coverage that befits a national office seeker.
It's an astonishing development, given that she has no role in national domestic policy and is a first-term governor of a state almost 4,500 miles from Washington.
Palin empathizers say the Alaska governor is merely trying to recover her good name after months of damage by the mainstream media, liberal bloggers and even high-level members of the McCain campaign who grew publicly dissatisfied with their VP nominee as Election Day neared.
But some political observers suggest that Palin's ongoing - and predominantly adversarial - relationship with the national media is all part of a savvy effort to retain her popularity with the legions of rank-and-file conservatives who stood so strongly behind her during the campaign.

There is nothing "astonishing" about this development. The media covers her every move because the haters can't get enough of it. Stop reading and commenting if you want her to disappear - really, it's that simple.

Well, even though I'm an atheist, I would have to say that I can only pray that the Republicans nominate this second rate lackwit as their presidential candidate. That way we can cram the moron vote all into one corner and ignore it.

She got attention just like a "rock star" and now she can't give it up. Just like Madonna and Michael Jackson. She has to keep reinventing herself in order to stay in the limelight. She knows it was probably her only chance at being in the public eye and does not want to let go. SORRY, you lied and slandered too many people and not you're just nuts.
As I've said before, in other posts about Sarah Palin, this woman is a narcissist, and it's only because the media keeps printing things she says that keeps her alive. As long as the media continues in this vein, she will keep popping up like a bad nightmare.

If this is what Palin is showing conservatives or anyone else she has to offer, then Palin isn't giving them anything new. Palin complains more than a baby in diapers cries and you would expect a baby to cry. Palin continues to show she has no substance, just complains and puts it on someone else for her own inability to speak intelligently about real issues. I don't recall seeing a puppeteer standing or sitting behind her every time she opened her mouth to answer a simple question.
This woman is not presidential material and never will be presidential material. She has become a national and international joke. There is no substance to this lady.
Palin go and do what you do best, have another child.
I use to be one of those people who wanted her out of the news, but this is just pure entertainment. The best part is that she is completely oblvious to the joke(s).
One thing i notice in Palin's comments is that she always compares herself to Obama. Um, Sarah, you were running for VP. You're comparison should be with Biden. Maybe when you realise you weren't running for President, you'll go away.
