(CNN) - Her bid for the vice presidency ended more than two months ago, but Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appears determined not to become a mere afterthought.
Departing from a historical trend of failed vice presidential candidates who descend into relative obscurity after Election Day, Palin continues to command the intense media coverage that befits a national office seeker.
It's an astonishing development, given that she has no role in national domestic policy and is a first-term governor of a state almost 4,500 miles from Washington.
Palin empathizers say the Alaska governor is merely trying to recover her good name after months of damage by the mainstream media, liberal bloggers and even high-level members of the McCain campaign who grew publicly dissatisfied with their VP nominee as Election Day neared.
But some political observers suggest that Palin's ongoing - and predominantly adversarial - relationship with the national media is all part of a savvy effort to retain her popularity with the legions of rank-and-file conservatives who stood so strongly behind her during the campaign.

Even the Repugs are sick of listening to this dysfunctional woman. To say that she has any idea of national issues is dillusional and so are the people that think she does.
Hopefully the media soon forgets this woman and begins the job of making sure they report news that educates the American public. Wouldn't it be nice to read or listen to the news that isn't spun by one party or the other, or having to hear someone whine about themselves being attacked by the media.

Wow people just can't give it a break, is it really that hard. Are you really going to believe what the media says or are you going to find the truth of the words really spoken? The media can do what ever they want with the statements they get - remember that. If I remember correctly, which I know I do, Biden didn't get near as much slamming as the media gave Gov. Palin. Why because she was a new face to burn. People can say what they want and I know they will, but please give it a break already. If you didn't like her you already won, she lost - no need to go farther.

The media finds Palin more important than the president acorn elected and all his liberal cronies. Palin's great looks and charm sell more papers and get more response on blogs than the other choices people have.

Liberals and conservatives have spoken about Palin's refusal to educate herself therefore tolerance isn't even an issue. If she were smart, she would reinvent herself by not speaking to the media for at least eight years and then returning to the spotlight with a new image.
Palin has to know that she is doing much more damage to her political career by staying in the ilmelight like this- particularly since it is bringing increased, and quite non-complimentary, exposure to her private life and to her family. It's the same thing as her reviving the RNC $250K clothes debacle in Florida when it had almost died down.

I don't think it's hatred or liberal intolerance. It's the fact that this woman continues to parade her idiocy for everyone to see. I believe in giving everyone a fair shake but I don't think that means we have to start being tolerant of a backwards, hateful, woman who does not have the intelligence to run this country.

This woman’s unbridled ambition and ego prevent her from accepting the painfully obvious truth that she lacks the intellect and intellectual curiosity that an overwhelming majority of Americans have come to realize (thanks to Bush 43) is required of a nationally elected leader.
The only interesting part of a Palin article are the right wing posts defending her. The blind leading the blind.
They do have one point though. All of us Obama supporters should just ignore these stories. When there are no more posts, CNN will be forced to stop running stories about her.

Please--"savvy" and Sarah are not synonymous. Get real. She will only make a further fool of herself. She needs more than her base to win an election.
I can't help but feel sorry for this woman. Every time she speaks to the media, she makes a bigger fool of herself, and she doesn't seem to realize it.
Watching the rallies she held told me what the outcome of the U.S. election would be, because when people in her crowds made racist or other derogatory remarks about the Democrats and their leader, she made no effort to quell them. John McCain would diplomatically discourage rally attendants from saying those things, and I respect him for that.
She really needs to close her mouth and start doing meaningful things for her constituents if she is going to redeem herself at all. Positive actions make for better news. You listening, Sarah?
