Why the Lincoln Bible.. seems to me it might just have been a vrey nice tribute to that grandmother who recently died, altho' he barely had time for that.. but what about her bible? Where is the recpect for her?

The Lincoln bible is being borrowed from the Library of Congress (I think that is who has it currently). They use it for Lincoln exhibits. Lincoln was Obama's hero. Obama requested to be sworn it with it. Lincoln's family bible had gotten mixed up with all his other personal belongings being shipped to Washington. So on the day of his swearing in they had to find one, they borrowed one from William Thoms Carroll who was a Clerk in the Supreme Court Justice. He had used it (one of many bibles) for special events for when a bible was needed. After he was sworn in Carroll gave it to the Lincoln family. The Lincoln family then donated (many years later) to the LIbrary of Congress. Just think of the social signficance of Obama swearing in on it, along with the historic signficance!
