Cindy McCain’s two worst days

CNN

Watch Meghan McCain on CNN.

(CNN) - It was a long and grueling presidential campaign, but two days were particularly hard for Cindy McCain.

In an interview with CNN, daughter Meghan Mcain said the two worst days for her mother were Election Day and October 17 - the day the New York Times published a lengthy and largely critical profile of Mrs. McCain.

"The New York Times profile of her came out which I think was a hard day for everyone," Meghan McCain said. "It was a very, in my opinion, not a very good article. It was actually being used in journalism classes as an example of the poor profile on someone, no one ever interviewed her. And it was a very hard thing to read."

This was a perfect example of a politically motivated "slam-job". The purpose was to invalidate a potential First Lady and advance the media generated pseudo-image of Michelle Obama. It shows the NY Times bias against Republican candidates. It also demonstrates the vitriolic attitude in the left and the willingness to abandon journalistic integrity to advance a political cause. This example is perfect for refuting the "Fairness Doctrine". Since the aforementioned doctrine would only be applied to counter Conservative Talk Radio, it is by all means the antithesis of "Fair". Liberal views, talking points, and coverage are the predominant spectrum of the media. Conservative Talk Radio is the only true outlet of conservative views in the media today. The reason that "Talk Left" failed wasn't that is was poorly marketed. Nor was it that it had unqualified or poor hosts. The true reason is that the media market is already supersaturated with leftist views and shows. Conservative Talk Radio is successful simply because there is no other true source for conservative views in the mainstream media. It is the ONLY source for conservatives to get news and opinions. This article by the NY Times against Cindy McCain is the perfect example of blatant partisan journalism and media leftist agenda. Thank you NY Times for making so plain to see, even if the liberals prevaricate and put their heads in the sand to avoid admitting the truth.

Yes it was bad and it is her personal life, Not running for any office should leave Cindy totally off the list of the media, her life is only our business if she runs for office the same way that Bill Clinton's life now is his business and should be left that way because it's Hillarys job not Bill's. To each his OWN.

I see nothing wrong with voicing your feelings if they are couched in a way that your grandmother would be able to read without looking up saying "my grandchild didn't, or couldn't have or would not write such an unkind thing".

That being said, if I take issue with the McCain forces it's their hypocracy that troubles me. In my opinion anyway, unfortunately you don't have to look too far for hypocracy at any level. I wish them all peace in their future endevors.

No, Meghan, I disagree. The two worst days for her were the day she started her continuous, hate-spewing, spite-filled media tour with Sarah Palin and the day she began mocking the opponent and his wife.

Ah yes, The New York Times defense. Now that would hold up in a court of law.

It is time to leave Cindy alone. A lot is said and done during an election. She was upset about the article and her husbands lost makes sense. it seems everyone has moved on except Megahan McCain. Why is still interviewing? Does her opinion mean more than anyone elses? Meghans your 15 minutes are up, you are not the first daughter.

Come on fellow Democrats. The election is over and we WON!
Put the bitterness and hateful comments behind us and move forward. No matter what Megan did or did not do this is her mother we are talking about. I also admire Megan for not getting down in the mud with Sarah Palin. Palin had acted the victim and said many negative things about McCain and his staff. I admire the McCain family for their restrain.
We will only make it as a nation if we all American work together. Let's give it a try!

What was hard on me was when "mousy" Cindy was "put up" to
"crying" about her sons being in Iraq (probably protected post)
and blaming Obama. I did not have a good opinion of the woman
after that day, and never will!!!!!

And it could have been hard on Cindy that Sarah Palin was bouncing
off the walls if the presence of John, her husband.

Why is this even news? Let the McCain's go about their lives after a bruising campaign. It's over now. Senator McCain has a job to do in the Senate and his family still supports him. Enough is enough. Let's let them get back to work on their daily lives.

We don't need know what the family felt on any day. That's their personal business. BTW – I'm a Democrat who's tired of all this nonsense. Let this family alone so they can continue on with their lives.

This daughter really should not bring up such a sore subject to
the American People. We are not stupid. Mrs. McCain play acts,
but only when her husband wants her too. Otherwise, she looked
just like a frozen in time "barbie." Really.

I read the article and I thought it was fair. It showed both good things and bad things about Cindy McCain. And as far as I can tell, all of it was true.

But I think all these people should move on a bit. I've been impressed with how John McCain has moved on and is back in the Senate, trying to get people to work together.

I've not been impressed with how Palin keeps complaining – and now this from Mrs. McCain. If you or your spouse is in the public life, well, your deeds will be exposed.

So, go back to doing good things and maybe the press will focus on that.

It's too bad Meghan's parents were exposed but what goes around eventually comes back at you no matter how wonderful you may think you are now. You can't mistreat or misuse other people and expect it to be forgotten. TOO BAD.

Oh boo hoo. The Botox Barbie doll was not "catered to" as one in her lofty (aka RICH) position should be? Go cry in one of your houses baby! You have one for each day of the week, PLUS one! You and the Lipstick Fido can cry all you want. You will now sink back into obscurity as you should. Oh by the way, time for another set of shots....that nasty wrinkle is coming back

I was and I am a Democrat who supported Hillary but I accepted the will of the Democratic Party to support Obama. However I never agreed with all the hate and low values used by a lot of Obama's supporters who in his desperate will to see him become the president started a new way of doing politics using the internet to spread hate and to pull with them millions of young and liberal good minds misleading them. Many things have to be reformed in the election process of this country among them changing caucuses for primaries to allow everybody to vote, to limit the amount of money a candidate can use during the electoral campaing to prevent a candidate from buying the presidency, and to limit the influence and bias of the Media who favored one candidate and destroyed the legacy and potlitical career of many other candidates.

As important as it is the election of the first African-American in USA there are many things in out democratic system that need to be reformed to really be a good example of democracy for the rest of the world. When groups of economic and political power (either from the left or the right) select a candidate and fabricate the story of that politician as we hav e seen in this country we can not say that we are a good model of democracy for the rest of the world.

Limbaugh does not hate America. He hates liberal policies, as do I, for that matter. If you read the transcript of the conversation, he makes it clear that the failure he hopes for is that Obama fails to put in place liberal policies that reduce our sovereignty and ability to compete effectively in the world. The world is not ready, yet, to hold hands and get along. There is still a need for power and if the U.S. does not fill that need, then Russia or China will. I know that's not what you want. Also, Limbaugh is an entertainer, not a politician or policy-maker. He is successful because many people agree with him. You are free to start your own blog or radio show to see how many people warm to your views. Franken tried it and failed. I wonder why. Franken even had taxpayer support, and it still failed to be commercially viable.

She had two bad days in what, the last year. It shows just how out of touch these people are. Are we supposed to feel sorry for them? What's the purpose of this report? Cindy McCain and her husband brought this all on themselves. When you start attacking other people you leave your self open to any and all scutiny.

Why would anyone get upset over a New York Times article? The Times is laying off people by the hundreds and their market share is dropping significantly. I'm sure they weren't objective with Mrs. McCain, but who really expected them to be?
