NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) – After a call for "bold and swift" action on the economy in his first moments as president on Tuesday, President Barack Obama got right to work, maneuvering to reach a bipartisan agreement on his sweeping economic recovery plan.
On Friday, Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met with Democratic and Republican congressional leadership to discuss his stimulus proposal, trying to sell both sides on a plan that includes both tax cuts and massive spending efforts.
The president offered more detail on his plan to restore economic growth. He said he'd take a three-pronged approach to recovery: stabilize the financial system, fix market regulation and pass the stimulus plan.

Is it just me or what, I cannot stand to look at Queen Pelois and King Harry anymore. Spend, spend, spend is what they want to do and not for the taxpayers of this country. I want for it to be listed all the "pork" they have in this stimulus bill. People need to start demmanding that OUR money be accountable for, to the very last cent!

I agree. It is now the democrats turn to rob and steal! Folks, this is much less a party issue than it is a integrity issue! Dems have had issus just like republicans did and still do. We have had criminal behavior on both sides of te aisle! I hope this administration leads by example. If there is a failure, you can't blame the President or party. Blame the one who fails! Neither repubs or dems have yet learned this!

As far as the stimulus package goes, instead of giving the money to corporations and banks, I say give it directly to the people - tax free. Let us decide what we want to spend it on. Let people pay their mortgages and their car payments. Let them go to the store to buy televisions, furniture, necessities. Let them get a good downpayment on a car. Let us help get the economy going again by letting us choose where the money goes - basically, our bills.

Before you "begin sanitizing Mosques" learn and understand that a Mosque in Islam, is the House of Allah (God). So by destroying a Mosque, you're destroying the House of God.
Second, All Muslims are not from the same flock...there are 1.5 Billion Muslims in the World today.
Third, learn about Islam before you "finish" your book .

I voted for President Barack Obama because he seem like he would do this country good but , I do have one concern and that is when he use the word African Americans. I don't think just because you are black that you have to be label as an African Americans, I don't see white people that live in America calling them selves were there ancestors come from for exmple Italian Americans or Russian Americans or even British Americans white people is know as just Americans and that how all people of color who was born and rise in the USA should be call an American and if you have a hard time calling me and other people of color American that then just call us human being. President Barack Obama if you pleases stop labeling people with a darker color skin African Americans and just call us Americans.

If any of you democrats would take a few min and stop worshiping Obama and take some time to think objectively about what this package would or would not do for this country, you would realize that stimulus packages have been tried many many times in the history of this country, and THEY HAVE NEVER WORKED. By the time the government spends all this money, when we do come out of the recession, inflation will be so bad that you will be spending $10 – $15 for a loaf of bread.
I was just wondering about all this talk about the stimulus package. The way we use the word Trillion, almost in every sentence, well what dollar amount is after trillion????
