Palin looking for book deal?

Palin has reportedly hired a powerful DC attorney
Palin has reportedly hired a powerful DC attorney

(CNN) - Could Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin be coming to a bookstore or television near you?

Palin has reportedly hired a powerful Washington, DC attorney who has successfully landed lucrative media deals for other political rock stars, a signal the former Republican vice presidential candidate may be interested in further expanding her media exposure in the coming months.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Palin has secured the services of Robert Barnett, the Washington lawyer who negotiated highly profitable book deals for Bill and Hillary Clinton. (Bill Clinton was paid $10 million by Alfred A. Knopf publishing to write his memoirs and Hillary Clinton garnered $8 million by Simon & Schuster to write hers.)

Barnett has also negotiated book deals for President Obama and Obama campaign manager David Plouffe, and has landed lucrative television contracts for many high-profile network anchors and correspondents.

Barnett would not confirm or deny that he is now working for Palin. Palin's office did not respond to a request for comment.

Several publishers have said Palin could fetch up to $7 million to write a book about her unlikely VP bid, and could rake in millions more as a television host after her gubernatorial term ends in 2010.

But should Palin decide on a presidential run, federal election regulations would almost certainly keep her from hosting a television show.

Let's see if CNN has enough fairness to allow this post instead of the usual "awaiting moderation,,ie... not supporting the liberal view"

Palin has just as much right to pen a book as anyone else and although it really eats at the left for her to do so is probably all the more reason she's doing it.

If you back somebody in a corner don't you expect them to come out fighting??? And if you dont' like her you don't have to buy the book but I guarantee you it will be a best seller!

What can she possibly have to say that will be of value? She's a relative newcomer, she messed up her political debut big time, and she can't keep from dragging her kids in front of the camera. She reminds me of an attention hog.

Wanting her to sit down and shut up has more do with her nagging ways than it does with her politics. she needs to do her job and stop whining about this, that, and the other.

Those of you who label everybody as "conservative haters" when we point out our concerns about such a person need an attitude adjustment. Stop wearing that worn-out conservative dogma on your sleeves and start doing some critical thinking.

  3. Sarah Palin Facts

As Governor Palin's position as CIC is rather unique, she receives regular briefings from Homeland Security, as well as other agencies. Govern Palin has a rather high security clearance as well. Something neither Obama nor Biden had prior to their win.

Governor Palin also has extensive foreign trade experience. Governors, that have something to export, routinely meet with foreign heads of state and work on extensive trade agreements. Again, something Obama, Biden, and McCain have zero experience at.

Something else that people overlook, and this is key: Governor Palin is Commander-in-Chief of the only National Guard that is on permanent deployment.

The 176th Wing, of the Alaska Air National Guard train with and is part of the United States Air Force. They are vital to our air defenses, and are the first line of defense should Russia, North Korea, or China decide they want to become aggressive.

Recently, the 176th Wing was awarded for it's actions. It escorted 22 Russian Bear bombers out of US airspace. I'm sure you've read that Russia is flying the Bear again, and seeing what they can get away with. The award was for much more tough.

She also commands the 49th Missile Defense Battalion, which is the missile defense for all of North America in the Pacific.

I would NEVER vote for her, however, I think a book would be interesting, only to hear her version of things. The campaign mismanaged her so badly and we rarely got to hear her speak for herself. I'd like to see her take on it, just out of curiosity.
But I haven't been all that impressed with her post-election comments, especially about the "gotcha" journalism and stuff like the SNL imitations. That's all part of politics, and unfortunately what it exposed was that she wasn't able or ready to handle that part of it. She was unable to provide answers to pretty basic questions, and at times seemed to not be fully aware of the responsibilities of the job she was seeking. For that, she has no one to blame but herself.

Maybe she could tell us if she ever returned that $150,000 worth of clothes the RNC "lent" her.
What charity did they go to, Sarah?
Oh, the Palin Charity, you say.
Okay, that was pretty much what I thought, doncha know. Wink, wink.

I have come to the conclusion that certain types of people need scapegoats and sacrificial victims to satisfy some kind of atavistic sadism that compels them to attack what is beautiful and good. Any NORMAL human being, would be able to see that Sarah Palin is a Queen among women and among politicians, and agree or disagree with her policies and positions, afford the high respect that is her DUE, that she DESERVES, for her honest work on behalf of the American People and her lifelong efforts to live in a loving, intelligent and moral life..

I think Sarah's book will be about the preservation of Wildlife in Alaska and her firm stand against the Oil Cartels and on the cover a picture of her standing at her back door looking at Putin rearing his head. (can you hear me laffin?)

"Now John McCain you can keep. I believe he lost the race on purpose and just used her. But I do believe he used the wrong woman this time."

So the purpose of McCain's campaign was to discredit Sara Palin?

Thanks, I wondered what his reason for runnning was.

P.S. Congrats on getting electricity in your trailer park.

She can barely pull off the English language, how the heck will she be able to write a book? Would it go something like this?:

"Well Katy Kurik and the whole liberal media really sent a wrong message of who I Sarah Palin Governor/Regulator/Mavrick who said no to the bridge to no where and likes to shake things up that ur asking me those GOTCHA questions ya know im not going to respond to that thats not what the good americans in those pro american parts of the country want to hear."

Hey @ Cue and all you dufus', I love that this moron keeps putting her face out there.

Reminds people of the bullet they dodged.

She needs to concentrate on her family and state.....I wondered if we could make it through the inaugaration week without her showing up on the news scene the media she hated so much. It kills me how she runs to the media, she hated, now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**I have never seen anyone so out of touch and mentally challenged the way she can't get away from the spotlight. She goes on Saturday Nite Live and now is mad at them? She blames McCain for her failed interview. Does she notice how respected and dignified John McCain is still seen as? Noone really ever had a problem with John McCain, he is a true American. The problem was Sarah!!!!!!!

Those who disrespect Sarah Palin are only disrespecting themselves. If there were a compilation (and there may be somewhere) of all the unprecedented vitriolic slander directed at this absolutely charming intelligent and RESPECTFUL woman, it would deserve a place of honor in a Hall Of Shame!!

Should Be a Great Book! I marvel at the Palin family's ability to make the best of a every situation and turn it around. Just think Sarah was selected to run as VP when she was going through some of the worst battles of her life.
    GOD BLESS YOU SARAH! :D

When will this moron ever shut up? Her 15 minutes was up long ago. This is someone who doesn't know that Africa is a continent. Who thinks Alaska's proximity to Russia somehow qualifies her as an expert in international affairs. Who, on the one hand, exposes her daughter to ridicule by talking about the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy and on the other, demands privacy. If you want a righteous laugh on this topic from a well-informed source concerning Palin, check out what Katha Pollitt said in her article, "Lipstick on a Wing Nut" in The Nation. You can google it.

She'd better be careful if she's running around with some high-powered DC lawyer. She'll lose her outsider Maverick status.
