Palin looking for book deal?

Palin has reportedly hired a powerful DC attorney

Palin has reportedly hired a powerful DC attorney

(CNN) - Could Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin be coming to a bookstore or television near you?

Palin has reportedly hired a powerful Washington, DC attorney who has successfully landed lucrative media deals for other political rock stars, a signal the former Republican vice presidential candidate may be interested in further expanding her media exposure in the coming months.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Palin has secured the services of Robert Barnett, the Washington lawyer who negotiated highly profitable book deals for Bill and Hillary Clinton. (Bill Clinton was paid $10 million by Alfred A. Knopf publishing to write his memoirs and Hillary Clinton garnered $8 million by Simon & Schuster to write hers.)

Barnett has also negotiated book deals for President Obama and Obama campaign manager David Plouffe, and has landed lucrative television contracts for many high-profile network anchors and correspondents.

Barnett would not confirm or deny that he is now working for Palin. Palin's office did not respond to a request for comment.

Several publishers have said Palin could fetch up to $7 million to write a book about her unlikely VP bid, and could rake in millions more as a television host after her gubernatorial term ends in 2010.

But should Palin decide on a presidential run, federal election regulations would almost certainly keep her from hosting a television show.

Truth be told, the McCain campaign was a sorry one. They mishandled their campaign and especially Sarah Palin. They had no money. The media turned on McCain as I predicted. I saw it coming a year ago. im intrested to see how much they kept palin in a cage from the media.

  4. Does CNN censor pro-palin comments?

Those who disrespect Sarah Palin are only disrespecting themselves. If there were a compilation (and there may be somewhere) of all the unprecedented vitriolic slander directed at this absolutely charming intelligent and RESPECTFUL woman, it would deserve a place of honor in a Hall Of Shame.
I have come to the conclusion that certain types of people need scapegoats and sacrificial victims to satisfy some kind of atavistic sadism that compels them to attack what is beautiful and good. Any NORMAL human being, would be able to see that Sarah Palin is a Queen among women and among politicians, and agree or disagree with her policies and positions, afford the high respect that is her DUE, that she DESERVES, for her honest work on behalf of the American People and her lifelong efforts to live in a loving, intelligent and moral life.

  6. I can write it for her

    It will open like this,

"I chose to write this book because, in running for the Vice Presidency, I learned that Americans need a true leader who doesn't rely on what's popular and who doesn't need the favor of the liberal "gotcha" media because up there, in Alaska, we have real small town values and we do the right thing just because it's right, like drilling in ANWR, and we support real family values, like abstinence only sex-education, and ya know, it's just the stuff like that that Americans need and do I think we're ready for that now? You betcha."

Then comes a bunch of crap in the middle, and the end will be much like the beginning.

    Okay, where's my $10 mil?

  7. Cue the hate-filled responses

It only makes sense that after the love-fest this week, you conservative haters just couldn't wait to have an article on the Ticker that you could criticize and attack. What, have you all gotten your fill on Skittles and Gum Drops this week? Time to get back to your miserable lives of bashing anything and everything that relates to the Right. It's the same names on here too. A little piece of advice...if you want to stop the Palin stories on the Ticker, then stop commenting on them. When every story gets 200-300 comments, they are going to continue to post them. It's a simple concept called supply and demand. Keep it up!

Paul Lennon: How can you possibly compare Palin with Franken. Yes, Franken was in show business and was a satirist, but the guy graduated Harvard cum laude. Palin, well, she can see Russia from her back yard!

good – she can make her million dollars too! might as well get with the program while the "door is open" – she can talk about herself some more and how badly she is being treated at least we can all have it in black & white now.

she isn't going to go away – might as well bring her into the political fold so she can play some more.....who knows she might get it right this time!

Awesome! Next time she meets Katie Couric, she'll be able to come up with a book she has read! Even if it's ghost-written and she doesn't even read it, she can probably fake it pretty good.

  24. Hope for the future

A book deal about what??? Whatever she has to write about is of no interest to me or many other educated people. Sarah, right now, I'm reading "Socrates' Way'" Seven Master Keys to Using Your Mind to the Utmost. Can you top this????? I think not.

And to the person who said she's the most popular Governor in America– are you joking? I was in Skagway a few months back, and people there were laughing about her idiocy.
