Conyers again subpoenas Rove

(CNN) – House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers issued a new subpoena for former Bush adviser Karl Rove Monday.

Rove was subpoenaed by Conyers last year, but refused to testify before Congress, pointing to executive privilege although he was no longer part of the administration.

“I have said many times that I will carry this investigation forward to its conclusion, whether in Congress or in court, and today’s action is an important step along the way,” Conyers said in a statement released Monday. “Change has come to Washington, and I hope Karl Rove is ready for it. After two years of stonewalling, it’s time for him to talk.”

The Michigan congressman is again looking to question Rove over whether the prosecution of former Democratic Gov. Don Siegelman, and the firing of the U.S. attorneys, were politically motivated. Rove has denied playing a part in either affair.

Thank you Mr Conyers for your brave actions in trying to hold the Bush administration accountable for their dirty deeds. At least some one in Washington has the courage to do this. I'm glad its you. Thank you again.

No one is afraid of you as your opinions are only YOUR opinions and mean nothing to anyone with common sense. They have no value. If you have all the answers, why not go out and do something about it or run for office instead of sitting on your butt and criticizing everyone. If you can solve all the problems of the world...do so...otherwise leave the others who are trying to have some meaning in life for the people of the world alone. What an ego!

Glad to see it. It is time for the Bush Administration to talk about all of the back room deals they did. Someone is going to have to be responsible for the negative impact of some of the Bush Administration's policies. I'm waiting to see David Addington admit his sins during the past eight years.

Yeah, right – President Obama is afraid of Rush Limbaugh. NO ONE is afraid of Rush Limbaugh – rabid right-wingers will soon find themselves without an audience.

  10. Barack wins and we collectively lose.

Now that is our new politics of bipartisanship or was that just a campaign slogan. I sadly believe the slogan prevails over what the country needs at this time.

AT LAST! I hope that this is only the beginning of digging into the misconduct of the Bush/Cheney administration. These thugs actually thought that they were beyond the law. Just as Nixon so long ago said, "if the President does it, it is NOT against the law!"

Bush and Cheney and their lawless bunch have committed crimes, and they should have to pay for them just like any other criminals!

If that hate-mongering Rove goes before court to answer for what he's done (even if he ends up cutting some deal for a reduced sentence), it'll restore some of the faith I lost in the justice department over the Bush years.

Look, Conyers is wasting his time. If the Democrats really wanted to do this, it could have been a long time a go. They have ran congress now year almost 3 yrs. Face it Conyers, the Democrats don't have the stomach for this.

The Michigan Congressman should worry about our state and the problems we are having. An older man died in Bay City, Michgan, he froze to death in his home. Spend money on heat for people instead of looking back over things that happen years ago.

Rove will talk all day on Fox News....but when it comes to "reality TV", he will clam up. He has to, he is guilty of obstruction, perjury.....and most of all....just being a despicable person non grata. What a loser...........but no one can pardon him. He"ll be on Fox News ranting and raving about anything but the truth...."Bush's Brain....HHAAAAA!!!!
