WASHINGTON (CNN) – Jill Biden is back in the classroom: The veteran professor and wife of Vice President Jill Biden began a new job at a DC-area community college Tuesday.
The White House said that Mrs. Biden will teach two English courses this semester as an adjunct professor at Northern Virginia Community College.
Biden has taught English in public schools and community colleges for nearly three decades, half of that at Delaware Technical & Community College.

So, I understand she isn't the first lady, but really? Aside from the security concerns, let's take a step back from stupid, and think of all the other things she could be doing with her charitable time, beyond teaching at the community college. The snippet doesn't say if she's drawing pay, but either way, she could be doing a college tour, she could be overseas speaking to other educators to become an advocate for improving the failed US school system... so much for high hopes.

Excellent news. I'm glad to see that Dr. Biden maintains her desire to educate the youth of today even though she is now in the public spotlight as the vice president's wife. However, the article mistakenly says that she is the wife of Vice-President Jill Biden. I guess even CNN can make a mistake. It only proves that no matter how careful we are, sometimes mistakes slip past a number of people.
The contrast between Jill Biden and Sarah Palin is remarkable – one has dedicated herself to educating working people, for 30 years, one took 6 years and 3 schools to graduate with a BA in journalism and now dedicates her efforts to promoting herself. Which one is more qualified for the highest office in our land?
That is refreshing. She is willing to teach at a community college where most students are underachievers who couldn't get into or afford a higher quality school. Wow, that is impressive. Thank you so much for your service!

Overlooked in the overwhelming historic implications of the new presidency, Jill Biden is one remarkable woman. She doesn't waste time with self-promotion, but just gets on with the job of living a productive life and giving back to the community. We are a richer country for people like her, and Joe is a lucky sonuvagun!
We have two wives of top elected people we can really respect and they can serve as two very different role models for our little girls. First Lady Obama and Dr. Biden are smart, dedicated and refreshing looking. And they both look like they eat a well rounded diet. Now we need to get VP Biden to lose a few pounds and we will have four fit, healthy people at the top.

My Grandparents, and Mother were born in Italy. They became US citizens and were proud to be Americans. At 70 I am proud to be an American who voted for Obama. I think his wife is SPECIAL and I think his kids are adorable and spunky.

Jill Biden should be admired – both for the work she does, and the choices she's made. Community colleges are the wave of the future. They're where the real action will be, for higher education in America. And Jill Biden is an example of where forward-thinking American leaders are headed.

I think that it is awesome that a woman with such high rank is teaching at the local level. She obviosly does not need to have that job but she does anyway. That really shows something about her character and about how much she cares about or childrens education and future.
I'm so happy to hear this news. I teach psychology at Columbia State Community College in Tennessee and I am happy to see a member of the Obama Administration supporting community colleges.
I believe that the Obama education team should do more to support community colleges. Community colleges are essential to higher education in this great nation. Let's hope Obama does not forget this.

I am a community college administrator and I have worked for twenty years in the two year public college system. We, who work in the community college system love our students and we completely understand Jill's reluctance to move to a four year institution. There is a magic in the two year college and an especially rewarding interaction with students trying to better their lives through education. You go Jill. You make us proud. Thanks for shining the light on us.
