Palin lying low during Washington trip

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Sarah Palin has firmly remained in the media spotlight since her bid for the vice presidency ended four months ago, but the Alaska governor embraced a decidedly lower profile when she traveled to the nation's capital this weekend.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate has scheduled a busy itinerary of closed-door events and face time with congressional Democrats and Republicans.

She also announced earlier this week she's making the 4,500-mile trek from Alaska to Washington primarily to attend the Alfalfa Club Dinner Saturday night - an annual closed-door roast of the nation's political elite.

But it's what's missing from Palin's schedule that is causing more than a few heads to turn. In a city that is ground-zero for national political journalists, Palin has not scheduled a single media interview or indicated she will hold a press conference.

Loons on the left-retards on the right-I think this one came from a retard...."you liberal left wing idiots! she is the governor of a state: who are you : a bunch of hourly paid commoner that do not have the guts to accomplish what she accomplished in her life."

  3. seriously, who really cares?!

frankly, it's a double-edged sword: I like her because she's entertaining as hell, yet it's frightening that this is her only redeeming value as a politician.

Come on CNN why not post my comments?

If Sarah Palin really loved this country as much as she claims she would stay home, keep her daugthers legs closed and shut her mouth. Now that's what I would call really loving your country.

No doubt trying to avoid being asked "gotcha" questions from the press, such as: "Sarah, what's the capital of Alaska?"

A lot of bitter republicans are posting here. Like Palin, we have no need to pay attention their ramblings.

Please-this woman is a complete moron-I hope we don't have to see any more of her or her crazy family. She couldn't even answer fundamental questions in an interview with Katie Couric–something as basic as what periodicals she reads.

She is a big zip in my eyes. Stay in Alaska–dummy.

What's great is she LIED to the Republicans and told them she couldn't attend their retreat because she was tending to Alaska business in Alaska then takes off to DC. Now she can't have an I.Q. better than 60 since she does not comprehend that the people at the retreat, including Steele, will have a lot to say to block her from running in 2012. Dumb, dumb.

As long as there are abundant comments on Palin stories, CNN is going to keep reporting on her trivial activities.

Sarah's common since approach, self confidence, and good looks totally intimidate the left wing so much because they have nothing in common with her,and can not relate.

    Lying low?

As opposed to just lying, which is her usual method of communication?

    And as for this hilarity:
    "January 31st, 2009 8:59 pm ET
I see liberal women are still jealous of her. All they have is insults. It is a shame that for all the nasty things the Libs say about her, she is still smarter than Caroline Kennedy."

There's only one response, after you clean off the monitor you just spit your drink on.

Since when did she walk the walk or was authentic, Did she not at first support the bridge to nowhere? What pipe line did she build??? Did she not have Ted Stevens Love and support? Get Real. She is an Idiot. I think a can of Spam( Lite) has more brains than she does. Most of you only see her as a half decent looking woman ,. I repeat, if she was ugly, she would be ignored and not given the time of day. Why don't you all go to Alaska and Live in poverty and high drug rate, Alcohol abuse, Rape and incest plague State in the Country with the highest gas Price(she is an energy expert you know) $5.00 gallon milk. Then you too can be a foreign affairs expert when you see Russia ( NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Good. Maybe if the media stop talking about her she will really go away. No one cares what she does as long as it does not involve us. Stay in Alaska. When the people of Alaska vote her out then that will be that.

Palin is such a manipulator and so deluded she told the Alaskan media that she was "not going to turn down having dinner with the President." She made it sound like she was meeting with the President over dinner. Sheesh.... she sure likes to lie to her constituency.

Excuse me, the only reason she is going is because some guy who thinks below the waist gave her a ticket. I bet he got flak for inviting her. I can't think of anyone in the RNC or "Washington elite" as Palin likes to call them when deriding Washington, who thinks she should be there.

I suspect our President has left instructions that Palin is not to get within 100 feet of him. Since he now has USSS protection I am glad they can keep her away.

Washington elite, intelligent conservatives, the Dems, and the President have excellent memories. No one is going to forget Palin's vicious attacks against the President, her hate rallies (that were reminiscent of Nazi rallies), and her constant bad mouthing of the Washington elite.

Palin is pretty clueless if she thinks that anyone will be welcoming her with open arms, especially so soon after her racist, hate filled rallies. I would think anyone of note at that dinner would look at her as toxic and will stay away.

She's the David Duke of Y2K but I guess when looking in the mirror she does not see that.
