Palin lying low during Washington trip

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin has firmly remained in the media spotlight since her bid for the vice presidency ended four months ago, but the Alaska governor embraced a decidedly lower profile when she traveled to the nation's capital this weekend.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate has scheduled a busy itinerary of closed-door events and face time with congressional Democrats and Republicans.

She also announced earlier this week she's making the 4,500-mile trek from Alaska to Washington primarily to attend the Alfalfa Club Dinner Saturday night - an annual closed-door roast of the nation's political elite.

But it's what's missing from Palin's schedule that is causing more than a few heads to turn. In a city that is ground-zero for national political journalists, Palin has not scheduled a single media interview or indicated she will hold a press conference.

The Democrats pay more attention ,follow her every move, hang on her every word ,and have more to say about Sarah than the Vice President in their own party-what's with that ??

Actually, Palin is more than happy to parade her children around at events. When she appeared at a hockey game and was warned she might be booed she said she would bring her youngest daughter because who would boo her. She always uses her kids. She has even called press conferences lately to discuss them. That said, I do think the media should have that subject be off limits. However, Palin certainly contributes to the problem.

    Here's a question.

Sarah and her followers have made big noise about so-called "gotcha media" interview questions...

So what would happen if Sarah had to face a crisis? If she somehow becomes president and "Putin rears his head" – does she think he's going to limit himself to friendly conversation? Sarah, princess, he's going to try to nail your pretty head to the wall! The "he's so MEAN" whining will not get you off the hook and a saucy flip of the cheerleader skirt won't help you.

If Sarah can't handle even softball questions from the major media, she's clearly out of her league when it comes to serious national and international issues. The scrutiny of the major media in a political campaign would be nothing compared to the "gotcha questions" she'd have to confront in the real world. No retreating back to the comforting, coddling safe haven of your base in that situation, Sarah... the big world out there plays for keeps.

I am simply amazed at the level of mentality by some of the left wingers. You can not, nor do you choos to say ANYTHING of any substance. Most of you can only come up with comments I would exepct from a 12 year old on the local schoolyard. Or hash over insults and slams that are long past due.
BUT,, GOD FORBID anyone brings up Ayers, Wright, or the simply fact Obama if not the first African American President, because the only Aemrican part of his blood is white. His black father was NOT an American. Obama may have been born in the USA, but he is not a true African American, he is a white amercian.

If someone birngs that up, we are either not allowed past the moderators, OR told to shut up and we lost, let it go....

The same should go for you,, shut up on Palin, you won,, so why the stupid one line comments that make no sense at all.

So what... everyone knows her agenda. And that agenda includes legislating her morality. Which I must admit is hypocritical, but definitely appeals to the religous fanatics of this country as well as the white sheet/cone hat crowd. Pffft.... what can I say... only the ignorant whold be followed by this womanl

Oh, my... heavy sigh.... only the ignorant would follow this woman. It is so obviously only the ravings of foolish woman with no intelligence or education. You know, you can go to University and College and still have learned nothing of worth!

I'm sure she'll do 200 interviews about it as soon as it's over. She can't keep her mouth shut very long.

Any mention of this woman in this space brings out those loving dumbocrats in droves. They must really be scared of her. She does have integrity and pays her taxes and is not from Chicago. They must be scared the electorate will find out the truth.

Sarah is turning heads because of her looks, not what is between her ears.

Many voters voted for McCain/Palin because of her looks.

If she runs for anything four years from now, she will be near age 48.

If you are 48, you already know you don't have the looks you used to have, right?

I think this will play a big part in who votes for Sarah in four years.

Run, Sarah, run. We need the laughs, Tina needs the gig, and the Republicans will continue to spiral down into oblivion. To what is the First Dude wearing his $40,000 wardrobe now? Silk boxes in a snow mobile suit, right.

What is wrong with you people…Palin has done nothing to anyone in this blog. She legally ran in the election… she showed her proof of birth and her college transcripts ….anyone one of us can do that….the election is over with….let's think like taxpayers…and make sure this Pelosi Pork Package gets cleaned up. It looks like the House of Representatives didn't even read it.

Some people actually do things in their lives unlike the rest of us who waste time and energy blogging, texting, twittering and facebook.
What's wrong with this picture…and I include myself in it.

  22. Sarah is not Cool

    Smart is the "New Cool"

    Some Palin deceptions revealed ...

Alaska is running a deficit ... so much for claiming she is a "CEO of a state". She benefited when middle east countries raised oil prices (by throttling supply). Now she's paying the price because order has been restored in the marketplace.

Her much touted popularity was due to tax refunds to Alaska state citizens funded by the gasoline-related price gouging of those of us in the "lower 48". Let's see if she remains the "most popular" governor when she is providing favors ... in this case bribes ... to the residents.

She criticized the Washington elite ... now she angles to get invited to such events.

She bragged to the conservative base that she was a "maverick" that would fight earmarks. This trip to DC is designed to take as much of the taxpayers money as possible to make up for her managerial shortfalls in Alaska.

Folks ... this isn't Sarah bashing ... It is simply the TRUTH. Unfortunately, there are many more unfavorable truths that could be told . Bashing would be to tell all of them.

Why is Palin in Washington DC? Regual small talk folk from her "real America" don't congregate at closed door political banquets.

Why isn't she out moose skinning or being a "maverick" or something?
