Palin lying low during Washington trip

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin has firmly remained in the media spotlight since her bid for the vice presidency ended four months ago, but the Alaska governor embraced a decidedly lower profile when she traveled to the nation's capital this weekend.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate has scheduled a busy itinerary of closed-door events and face time with congressional Democrats and Republicans.

She also announced earlier this week she's making the 4,500-mile trek from Alaska to Washington primarily to attend the Alfalfa Club Dinner Saturday night - an annual closed-door roast of the nation's political elite.

But it's what's missing from Palin's schedule that is causing more than a few heads to turn. In a city that is ground-zero for national political journalists, Palin has not scheduled a single media interview or indicated she will hold a press conference.

Maybe, just maybe, she's been watching Obama and the problems that he's facing and she's realized that the job of President is way beyond her capabilities. Perhaps she's had a heart to heart with someone. Maybe McCain said, you know, the first thing I would've done as President was fire you cause you're that incompetent.
I mean she Governs a state that is literally on the payroll of the Oil companies.
Every Alaska resident gets a check from the state, whether they have a job or not, that is paid for by big oil corporations.
So, yeah, F her and Alaska, those people suck and their state is basically whoring out its precious natural resources which belong to all of us.

Does she think she has a chance after her disastrous interviews with Katie Couric and the GOTCHA media?? And her foaming at the mouth rants. Palin is way too far to the right and probably will never change her distorted views (And the religious fanatics and lunatic fringe cheer) to convince mainstream voters to accept her. She's somewhat right when she said maverick, but most don't really want a maverick anymore. That's so last election!

She has to lay low so nobody will get the chance to interview her.

Just stay home and take care of the family first! They are so much more important than any political position.

She is just a self serving, shallow, wannabe and not worth any more press. Just ignore her!!

Successful people usually do steer clear of losers. It isn't really that hard to do.

Who cares about Sarah Paloon and John McRage. I'm glad that these clowns are out of the picture. That would've been a nightmare to have the two of them running around the White House.

If the media mocked, ridiculed, and deceived people about me the way they did to her I wouldn't want to talk to them either. How can anyone blame her?

media keep talking to this lady so this will ultimately lead to the downfall of the GOP party. Keep up the good work and don't forget to include Limbaugh, and evil Ann Coulter too.

No, she can only lash out at the media from behind the safety of her snow fort or on terms that are decidedly in her favor. Now that she is back on the hard-baller's turf, she will walk unobtrusively with her head down in order to avoid having to answer any more tough questions like specifics on her reading material. I can only hope that she is, through some warped chain of events, elected to take on Obama in the 2012 general election...he will make mincemeat out of her regardless of how he has performed in the next four years. She is totally clueless.

maybe Sarah Palin has come to realize that it is better to shut up than to talk about things she does not know anything about ! What a delightful event to hear about her not running her unqualified mouth !

You know, I think she should lay low, there's no reason to be ahead of the game, especially if she wants to have recognition in the future. I like how she did her approach in the beginning where she was calm and patient, pretty much telling her side of the story BUT as time moved on, I'm pretty sure what she was doing and that probably was not a good idea. Listen, I'm not saying that she doesn't have any game or not, I really don't know if she does. And not to be offensive but she is from Alaska, no offense to her but their revenue is a bit different from any other state in the country, for crying out loud, it is one of the most corrupt states in the country, statistical wise in terms of unethical and improper regulations. And if I'm not correct, I think oil is their biggest revenue and that my friend, I am not going to take or accept, she's gonna need to do more than just give me fantasies...

You know, I talked earlier on about Steele and what to expect and quite frankly, I'm not saying that I am questioning him or his character or anything in particular, I haven't even gone that far yet BUT what I am questioning is his game...
