Palin lying low during Washington trip

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin has firmly remained in the media spotlight since her bid for the vice presidency ended four months ago, but the Alaska governor embraced a decidedly lower profile when she traveled to the nation's capital this weekend.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate has scheduled a busy itinerary of closed-door events and face time with congressional Democrats and Republicans.

She also announced earlier this week she's making the 4,500-mile trek from Alaska to Washington primarily to attend the Alfalfa Club Dinner Saturday night - an annual closed-door roast of the nation's political elite.

But it's what's missing from Palin's schedule that is causing more than a few heads to turn. In a city that is ground-zero for national political journalists, Palin has not scheduled a single media interview or indicated she will hold a press conference.

I'd like to say I wish she would just stay away from the lower 48 altogether and I'd be happy - but her promotion of aerial gunning down of wolf parents and subsequent execution-by-bullets-to-the-head of surviving puppies in their cages is sickening and reduces our collective humanity. I'm not some big city anti-gun dweeb, I've cowboy'd in Montana, served two tours in the Marines and support gun rights, but not the gutless and cowardly wolf and wildlife slaughter that goes on in Alaska.

She's a kook. I had a bit of respect for Alaska before this woman hit the spotlight.

    It is gone now!

Hell why would she schedule any interviews with a media that refuses to give her a fair shake. BTW: She is in washington to do business for Alaska in regards to the stimulus monies

"I am not one of the Washington elite types" "Just Joe six-pack"

She was not a Washington elite because she was NEVER INVITED BEFORE. Not, first chance she gets, she dives into Washington's most elite Roast!!!! HA HA HA HA HA Too Funny.

She says Obama pals around with terrorists, but she jumps at the chance to pal around with him now. Does this make her a terrorist?

Why did Palin cross the road? Because the moose stole her snowmobile. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Seriously, though... she's a moron. Shame on you, CNN, for letting this bimbo getting any more coverage. You're becoming almost as shallow and sensational as Faux News. So much for journalistic integrity.

Not that she didn't TRY to get some press – but none of them wanted to interview the lunch lady at the dinner (she'll be in the back room mashing spuds).

So the Alaska trailer trash girl has ventured back into the wolves den in Washington, D.C. She is smart to avoid the press and media. They would tear her apart and justifiably so. This woman is dangerous.

Wait a sec– wasn't this the same woman who just a few weeks ago was saying she wished she had done more interviews during the campaign?? Even the Palin loving Fox News network issued her an open invitation to appear on any of their shows this weekend, and she apparently has declined. So this woman is just all talk and no action, huh? All hat, no cattle.
God, can you imagine her in the White House?? That is a beyond scary thought.

The msm is looking stupid. As long as you give this woman praise the more dumber you look. For a person that has a high drop out rate in her schools, meth problems in communities, teenage pregancies on the raise, etc. Shouldn't she worry about what she needs to do for her state. She bragged about how the oil revunue was good for her state, if that is the case why come begging for money. She has shown all her true colors and the american ppl rejected it. Alot of things are wrong in Alaska take care of your state start doing the ppls work. Enough

Of course she didn't...If she actually talked to the press (or anyone for that matter), she'd be revealed for the empty-minded ideologue she is.

I really hope she runs in 2012...It'd make an easy win for Obama-Biden!!

Palin should definitely stay away from the media. They might ask her a question that she cannot answer! Not only that, but somebody, somewhere, has the sense to tell her not to do that!

I hope she do stay away from the media spotlight and don't make a clown out of herself by opening her mouth, You would think that this lady would have given up on the spotlight and go back home now she want to be part of the political elite. WHATEVER

Her vice presidency bid did not end four months ago. It ended two and a half to three months ago. Just saying...

The dingbit hasn't scheduled any interviews because it's now another way to keep attention drawn to her. A prime example is this story. If people would stop talking about her, maybe the rodent would go crawl under a rock somewhere and sink into the ground.
