Palin lying low during Washington trip

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin speaks at the meeting of the National Governor's Association in December.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin has firmly remained in the media spotlight since her bid for the vice presidency ended four months ago, but the Alaska governor embraced a decidedly lower profile when she traveled to the nation's capital this weekend.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate has scheduled a busy itinerary of closed-door events and face time with congressional Democrats and Republicans.

She also announced earlier this week she's making the 4,500-mile trek from Alaska to Washington primarily to attend the Alfalfa Club Dinner Saturday night - an annual closed-door roast of the nation's political elite.

But it's what's missing from Palin's schedule that is causing more than a few heads to turn. In a city that is ground-zero for national political journalists, Palin has not scheduled a single media interview or indicated she will hold a press conference.

I too, have heard that Republican insiders are asking her to lay low.
I guess, Palin, coupled with Rush, Hannity, and now Mike Steele, are enough destruction to the party, in our Country's time of need for all good men/women to come to her aid.

Sarah Palin is dumber than an empty bag of hammers. The best thing that she could do for the Democratic party is win the Republican nomination in 2012.

"since her bid for the vice presidency ended four months ago,"

Why did she end her bid for the vice presidency in late September/early October? The election didn't end until three months ago in early November.

She is just milking the media gravy train for as long as she can. Another book deal is all she cares about.

Palin's staying away from the media because she's getting advice from Republican movers and shakers on how she should deal with 1) the rumors about her daughter and the DS baby; 2) the increasing number of ethics questions arising from Watergate-like "-gates" in her Alaska gubernatorial administration; 3) her book deal; 4) being marginalized by the more intelligent grounded leaders of the Republican Party, and so on.

I doubt very much she wants the media to know WHO these movers and shakers are that she's consulting with. No doubt some of them are under investigation from the FBI or Congress for some of their misdeeds of the past 4-8 years.

As a woman, I am beyond insulted that Sarah Palin thinks she is qualified to run for the highest office in the land. What a disaster for the GOP!

What's wrong with our little media darling ?
Is she afraid of opening her mouth and letting the world know just how intelligent she is – or isn't ?
Or has she finally realized that nobody cares anymore ???????

Why complain about Governor Palin? You all scream for her to "go away" and "shut up". You should only whine about CNN covering her, but instead spend time attacking her. It would seem her not giving any interviews would please you. Oh that's right, the typical leftist really doesn't want to be happy. You just want everyone to be as miserable and petty as you are. I guess I should fear offending people on this site, but if this goes as usual, CNN will lack the balls to print this anyway.

Ryan, let me put this as kindly as possible....you're kidding yourself.

Or you've been listening to Rush Limbaugh too much.

The "high rollers on Wall Street" are the PROBLEM, not the solution. Lack of regulation is the PROBLEM, not the solution.

Ever heard of "not more government, not less government, but BETTER government"? That's what we citizens who avoid FoxNews believe in, and want.

I'm not really sure what you neocons want, other than for Pres. Obama "to fail"....at the risk of the entire country being a wholly-owned subsidiary of China and Japan.

Thank God we don't have to hear her annoying voice. She needs to forget about higher office--she has nothing at all to give credence to her asperations.

I see liberal women are still jealous of her. All they have is insults. It is a shame that for all the nasty things the Libs say about her, she is still smarter than Caroline Kennedy.
