Good. Aside from a few missteps due no doubt to the learning curve, Obama is making all the right moves. Children should not be penalized for the greed and extravagances of their elders and deprived of medical care, at least.

Hurray for Obama, this is good for America.

On the other hand, I agree with my republican friends that the extension of the analog TV signal is a waste of money. NO ONE is hurt but turning off the analog signal and going all to digital. So what if some of the poor and elderly don't have TV, TV is a waste of time anyway.

Let's not have a stimulus bill at all. Let's vote on every measure separately. Everyday people are losing jobs and some are even dying. If we debate this bill for 2 or 3 months, we will indeed have a Dow of 5000 and a catastrophe on our hands. If you have any money at all in stocks – SELL NOW. I already sold everything and am waiting on the sideline until the Dow hits 5000, then I'll invest.

Obama's people should have vetted Daschle more carefully. Daschle received $5 million over the past two years from various health care industries. Although he isn't a registered lobbyist he must have used his political influence to qualify for the $2.1 million from the law firm of Alston @ Bird who represents dozens of pharmaceutical companies. I hope when Obama admitted he screwed up means he will do intensive vetting to find out who turned public service into private wealth. We need people who think the public interest is more important than the money. If you are a former government official and then become a shill for corporations who do wrong, how ethical can you be? I hope Obama, like Diogenes, can keep looking for some honest men.

It just occurred to me–the best way for Republicans to kill Obama's insane socialist programs would be for Sarah Palin to come out in support. I would love to watch the comments then.

Why not reward parents who buy other things rather than buying private health coverage for their children.

You are right. A family making 80,000 is eligible for child health insurance? People should stop depending on government to pay 100 dollars or some cases even lesser than, that to pay for their children's insurance. This is a back door entry to universal health care. Welcome to socalistic republic of America.

Will the government send out a newsletter to all states and counties telling the officials to now allow smaking in the states and areas that now have a ban in place to stop smoking Wisconsin is one of the above mentioned

Please do not lesten to anybody that wants the country fail (REP.)
Why listen to him? He's a traitor (publicly said in one of the Pres. Debates "I know how to catch Bin Laden", but doesn't want to tell Obama, because of jealousy. He made the worst VP selection ever, which makes him even more stupid than G.W. Bush himself, because Cheney may be evil and a crook, but his IQ is ten times higher than that of the Alaskan bimbo, who acts and talks like a 10-year-old kid. When McCain made his VP pick last year, he lost credibility to all Americans with a brain, so anything he says now is 100% useless. I hope he's replaced as senator soon, and goes away forever

Obama is off to a terrible start! First, he wants us to pay for foreign abortions, then he closes Gitmo with no plan on what to do with the criminals, then he proposes this rediculous spending plan and all cabinet choices are all tax cheats.

I would bet that all of you supporting this are NOT taxpayers. If you had any sense, you would have listened to the Repubs. The $.62 per pack cig tax is NOT enough to pay for this.

IT IS NOT THE GOVTS JOB TO PROVIDE: JOBS, HEALTHCARE, FOOD, WATER, TRANSPORTATION, EDUCATION.

Come on folks. where do you think Obama is going to get the rest of it.

We are quickly becoming more and more socialist. Wake UP idiots!!

I just saw on the news that CEO's are saying that government should stay out of the business markets. They weren't saying that when they wanted $700,000,000,000.00 to bail the banks out or when the auto industry came calling for $30,000,000.00 in bailout money.Give back all that money and then government shouldn't see how much they are taking from their companies. Can't come up with it?Then the taxpayers have a right to know what they are doing with all the money!
