Programs are already in place to for free services to children. What is this all about.? We should not forget how they left their own children out to freeze in the cold. Sad to see how the sweet kid snugged up both parents only to be given a leg to lean on and and the other a body to lean on. One would think that the kid would sit on their lap and arms to around them to keep them warm at least without the mittens. This is just another wasteful spending or a quick move to save face of whats looming ahead. Losing the fight.

To Jack Janiski more Government spending? It is coming off of Cigarette taxes, I actually want to quit smoking. You are saying that the next generation cannot have Health Insurance. You are extremely wrong they need more because they are the most vulnerable. I remember when my son went to school where kids get sick. To those bloggers think that this socialism, think before you spout off, there was Blue Cross CHIPS in Pennsylvania.
To PSKing: you are one of many women out there with little or no insurance for your children. Send that $300.00 to your ex-husband to pay. They are his children too!

Google TAMMANY HALL and DEMOCRATS and then read.

Bottomline is that the so-called stimulus bill and this SCHIP are nothing more than payoffs to the groups that supported O during his campaign.

It is called DEMOCRATIC WARD POLITICS, plain and simple.

Payoff everyone from top to botttom to get their votes. Period

Even if you don't agree with what I just wrote, please do some research of your own; TAMMANY HALL

When are you people going to wake up and put your self centered personal thoughts and differences aside. Are we the greatest country and creations of all or just like any other countries and creations god put on the face of this universe-take a moment and think- rather than pointing fingers and criticizing each other-let us think twice before we say anything bad about President Obama or his policies-think about the time and the situations like this for someone to become a President of a country, which the rest of the world look upto for leadership and most of all think about the everyday challenges that President Obama is facing-let us take a moment and walk in his shoe's.At least President Obama is getting things done for our future generations-just like this bill for children's health insurance-and guess what -he has all the good intentions for everysingle person of this country, and no one can stop him from doing good to others-this is the time to put our differences aside and join President Obama and his team to bring peace and prosperity to the USA and to the rest of the world.Rather than running our mouth let us get some things done towards the peace and prosperity of this country and the rest of the world.

  15. think about it

Some of you are positively sick.

Why is it that you only care about children until they're born? You don't care if they can see a doctor when they're sick. You don't care if they can get a good education and rise out of their poor conditions. You only love the unborn, and as soon as their mother delivers them, you turn your backs.

If our children are not worth some of your precious dollars, what is?

In lieu of the tremendous loss of jobs last year and the hiring of foreigners to fill those positions why is it so surprising the US is now on the brink of 1,000,000 job losses and there is such an uproar ,Obama has been in office 2 weeks and you would think the way the GOP are talking they had never seen job losses before and blame the new administration,. For heavens sake step up and help this new president who is trying to make America work and quit your constant negative talk,

    Please Read Carefully

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

Some of the republican comments on this subject are incredible. If we don't insure our children, who do you think pays for the inevitable hospital visit when an ordinary illness becomes acute? The bills might get sent to the parents, but if they don't pay, the expense gets absorbed into the hospital and WE ALL PAY for it through higher hospital costs and higher insurance premiums. Personally, I think it's financially better for the taxpayers to pay part of the premium rather than get stuck with astronomical hospital and insurance costs. But of course, all you dumb repubs can do is regurgitate your talking points, ad nauseum, about "socialism" without thinking long-term benefits. In New York's Child Health Plus program, you have to provide on-going proof that no insurance is available from either parent's employer. You pay a monthly premium based on income. Even if the parents are divorced, one of them MUST provide health coverage if it is available. They will not be eligible for Child Health Plus if they have coverage available through their employer. Of course, all you stupid repubs can do is complain that people are sitting around "waiting for a socialist handout". But where is all that "concern" for life you keep harping about?

What a waste of $$$$$$. Its the parents fault. If they can't afford them then they shouldn't have them. Keep the knees together ladies. What do we get? Another socialist program at the taxpayers expense. Whoop-dee-dooo.

Fabulous! Now we're rewarding irresponsible twerps who have babies they can't afford to raise.

If you can't afford to raise kids, don't have any! You have no Constitutional right at all to other peoples' money to raise your kids.

Having kids you can't afford is just selfish and cruel.
