WASHINGTON (CNN) – Who says bipartisanship is dead?
Readers of the liberal Web site the Huffington Post have crossed ideological lines and voted Illinois Republican Rep. Aaron Schock the “Hottest Freshman” in the 111th Congress.
At age 27, Schock also has the distinction of being the youngest member of Congress.
Although nearly 10,000 votes were cast in the site’s poll, Schock suggested that he might have gotten some help from some participants who weren’t exactly unbiased. “It’s flattering,” the congressman said in a statement Wednesday. “Apparently my friends and family have a lot of time on their hands.”
Schock hails from Peoria, Illinois and represents the state’s 18th District in the House of Representatives.

Thank God! The G.O.P letting youth be served HALLELEUH, and welcome to the 21st century!!!!
I'm a registered Democrat and I would definitely hit that. You don't have to ask me twice.
Hottest and competent are two very different things. Palin was hot but had the brain of a gnat. I hope Schock isn't in the looney bin with the rest of the right wing nutjobs.
See, us libs aren't always partisan:)
Wow... give me a break.
Hottest what? Are you kidding me.... it's no wonder nothing gets done in Washington.
Who gives uh!
But you wont hear the zealots on the right calling him the antichrist will we?
Stay away from Rush, Hannity, McCain, Palin, Steele, too many to name, and you'll be ok.
For a piece like this, his name should be pronounced"Schlock"...
The fact that the Huffington post has a poll like this proves how irrelevant it is.
What?? Someone more handsome and popular than the messiah??
SHOCK!
Not to worry – some Hollywood idiots will be crawling out to attack the poor guy. We can't have republicans getting ANY favorable news. It violates the new rules of "ethical journalism".... as the ONLY ethical statements from journalists extoll the virtues of Obama.
The vote has little to do with his positions or skill but with the voters libido.
I'm kind of liberal, more centrist, and I know the poll of which you're speaking. If he's cute, he's cute, even if he's Republican. Still wouldn't vote for him, though.
If he is that hot I hope he abscounds with Pelosi . Then we can get Reid to go looking for Pelosi and hopefully. Reid ,Pelosi and Mr wonderful will go off to Alice in wonderland and never return to the great Washington Area and the house of rep's and the Senate will elect some people with integrity and concern for the American people who give them a terrific Lifestyle.
Wow, another up and comer form Illinois. Who knew?
I do not have any respect for him. He failed to understand that it was his party that left us with 5 trillion dollars in debt, simply because they gave W a blank check, until he acknowledges this fact, I'll listen to him.
I wouldn't vote for him for office but he is a cutie!
Rep. Schock is a very handsome man, but as the story goes a snake is still a snake.

Lisa, dearie, the goal isn't to protect human adolescents or domestic pets running in the woods from the Big Bad Wolf, it's to protect moose and caribou herds so that their numbers can be sustained. Newsflash: Not every dead animal ends up on a plate at a swank cafe. Are feel-good theoretical liberals like you really this stupid on purpose or is it just a genetic defect? Talk about living in pure fantasy land. Get off your disgusting and laughable psuedo-intellectual soapbox and stop lecturing Westerners on land-use and wildlife management policies and practices...things you know absolutely NOTHING about. Go get some sushi and herbal tea and calm down.
Giddeup!
Please correct the typo in this headline. I really wonder whether anyone edits these ticker posts...
And in case somehow it isn't obvious to whoever reads this, an apostrophe does not belong after "readers"! It's just plural– nothing possessive about it!
Wow... a Republican Beauty Pageant, what's next the swimsuit contest? Whatever.
I'm a democrat, but putting someone in the GOP who is under 70 is a great thing. They need some new fresh ideas smart ideas, not sarah palins dumb ideas or the existing GOP ideas
