Obama plans primetime press conference Monday night

WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Obama will hold the first official press conference of his presidency next Monday night, February 9, two weeks earlier than President Bush held his first White House press conference eight years ago.

Obama is also slated to speak to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 24, in what is being described as his first State of the Union address. The White House says he will submit his first budget to Congress by the end of this month or the beginning of March.

The Senate repubs would rather quibble over 2% and try and get face time for the obstructionists in the party and attempt to make sure "Obama fails" per the bald bloated bonehead the real head of the repukes, not to mention that Steele the token head of the RNC thinks "bi-partisanship is overrated".

Meanwhile 626,000 more people lost their job last week, the disgusting repubs would rather play games than help the American public. There will be even fewer of you hateful repubs in 2010.

    Memo to the MSM:

While i understand the sniping and harping on the .07 of 1 % and it should be discussed. However, in full disclosure you need to mention the percentage to keep it in perspective, leaving it so it appears that the whole bill is wrong is doing a great disservice to the American public. Altho, I do realize the MSM media heads are repubs.

1/20/13, I'm overwhelmed by your generous, tolerant spirit. I didn't vote for Mr. Obama either, but he's only been in office for three weeks. Good heavens, give the man a decent chance, will you?

Overheard in the oval office " Look, Look, I can see the Capitol from here. Do ya think they have my bill ready for me yet? Maybe I should invite some Republicans over for wine and cheese?"

No, No, I wil give a big speech next week and tell everyone how important this bill is. We goota get it signed or the Planet will split apart. How many votes do we need? Oh gee, I hope Nancy and Harry can get this done.

"two weeks earlier than President Bush held his first White House press conference eight years ago."

Well, wow, was that comment even necessary? Can someone explain to me why that statement needs to be part of that sentence besides to deride the former President?

We are praying for you President Obama. When the dust settles from the attacks of the Opposition Party, you will still be unscathed. Every day the public sees through the schemes of this negative party more clearly. The longer they protest and hinder progress, the deeper the hole under them gets. Stay encouraged, we are proud of you!! God bless!

I am looking for a brand new sense of openness not seen for many years. Bush gave us platitudes and things to stuff down our consciences that didn't make sense. Obama will bring a sense of "these are the facts, people" rather than cheer lead us into an abysmal contrived world. I am expecting JFK style and demeanor not seen for many decades and why not. Things are getting bad and he needs support that the Republicans cannot give due to their ideologies. Good on you, Mr. President!

    CNN,

why are you allowing yourselves to be partner to the spreading of hate and vitriol from one citizen to the next.

This CANT be helpful to public discourse to just allow innuendo, half-truths, whole lies, insinuation, innuendo, and intellectual dishonesty to literally FLOOD your post boards.

and all while they spread their hate on your website, they accuse YOU of being biased.

    un-believable.

    CNN, close these blogs!

tired of obama flowery speeches and responses. he has already broken some of his campaign promises and self made rules since being elected. he has also selected people of questionable character, qualifications to serve in his administration. obama is wasting taxpayer money himself. how he can criticize CEOs when he is guilty of the same things is simply amazing. obama will either end up being impeached or voted out of office in 4 years. obama needs to lead, follow or just get the heck out of the way. the nation is sinking in this worst economy since the Great Depression.

OBAMA....the hardest working man in washington.......

No matter what the critical to hateful comments are, it comforting to have a president working as hard as Obama. So congratulations Mr. President, you're far from perfect and far from what we've had.

We had best all hope that the Obama Administration succeeds. If it fails, we are going down the famous creek without a paddle. Conservatives, of course, will try to topple the Administration with delays, blocks, obfuscation, deception, filibuster, false arguments, impeachment (wait and see), personal attacks, etc. Their goal is to prevent the nation from solving any of its problems, because they want to be in power – even if the nation and all of us have to suffer a decade long depression. They would rather be wrong and be in power than the other way around.

He'll propably give us the date to watch him walk on water, with Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank and Harry Reid behind him on a row boat. That would be a good theme for one of those lucky Hollywood producers that will ge the tax credit outlined in the "Shamestimulus Package". God help us.
