Obama plans primetime press conference Monday night

WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Obama will hold the first official press conference of his presidency next Monday night, February 9, two weeks earlier than President Bush held his first White House press conference eight years ago.

Obama is also slated to speak to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 24, in what is being described as his first State of the Union address. The White House says he will submit his first budget to Congress by the end of this month or the beginning of March.

OK, all you right wing swifties, tune and watch a man able to answer questions without the benefit of getting them in advance so Rove could prep the "answer book!"

It will be confusing for you at first to see man answer in clear, articulate tones minus the usual myriad of misspeaks and bad syntax, but you'll catch up.

I am very excited to have the chance to hear President Obama talk about the policies that that will move us forward to better economic times. The stimulus bill is 90% good stuff and haggling over 10% that is debatable. The republicans think the sky is falling. Grow up, let's make the minor adjustments that the moderates are requesting and get this done.

To you naysayers – you need to have sex more often. It will really help you feel better and perhaps you'll be more constructive. Saves me time to not have to discern which comments are from losers.

The man is trying to calm and clear the waters across our nation that were so turbulance and polluted by Bush. If you are an educated person, be realistic about it and know that it will take at least 4 years to do it. If you are not educated and want to be ignorant about it then be dumb and be ignorant.

Obama needs to back the financial industry;and do more to help dispose of the bad mortgages-which would help us stay in our homes. The rest of the stimulus package appears to be a professional con game being played on the Democrats by selfish interest groups that wouldn't benefit our whole economy. If nothing else he should just send the individuals checks like last year.At least the money reached those who needed it.

@ Palin fan..... you must have missed the Inaugaraion speech, what less than two weeks ago? Now I know what kind of supporters Palin has. Clueless and out of touch.

At least he speaks. At least he has a brain. At least he knows the constitution, considering he went to Harvard and taugh Constitutional law. You do know what the Constitution is right? Not Conjuction Junction, what's your Function.

The Palin, Limbaugh and Hannity bots are sad...............Bush ruined the country. Palin has no brain and trashy. Limbaugh is a drug addict. Their heroes!

Alec I'll take Polishing the Capitol Dome for $250 million.

Next Alec, I will take condoms for school kids for $300 million.

And now Lec, I think I will take new cars and computers for overpaid federal employees for $500 Million.

What's that Alec – you want to know how many jobs this will create? Well, Alec, I think I will use a lifeline; I'd like to call Hillary Clinton.

Your true colors are showing you bitter Republicans! I don't seem to remember "W" getting torn apart like this by the Democrats back when he was elected and re-elected. Oh, wait...that's because Democrats have open minds and can actually listen to different opinions and not want someone to fail which will affect all of us! The last 8 years drove us into the ground...let's put the responsibility where it belongs. Now, you expect Obama to perform miracles in less than a month?! Please.
