The stimulus package is to stimulating confidence, stimulating buying, our problem now is money is not flowing. People has money don't want to spend. People has no money cannot spend. You will see more jobs lost in the coming months. Tax cut will not create jobs this time. Business cannot hire people if there is no growth potential no matter how much tax cut you can give to them. Republican just don't get it.

Thank God, if we are going to do Something (not unlike Bush's 700 billion CEO give away) Then Lets do it already. Sure we can decide to invade a country and stand m=by that quick move, but we aren't going to stand by our own side during this move?

Lets get on with it kids. . . time to stop talking and get to work.

LONGV – Your an idiot. Obama never said he was God or the Messiah or any other religious figure for that matter. The man tried to bring both parties together to work on this and look what he got for it, a slap in the face by the Republican's and the same old party line of tax cuts and trickle down economics that haven't worked since Reagan.

Anonymous you understand it WRONG. The stimulus packet is online for you to read. The Dems want to spend money on projects and organizations that will rebuild what your team broke down and neglected. The money will be used to fix our infrastructures, schools and buildings AND that will require us to hire people to do the work. That's called creating jobs AND builing. I'm sure as a Republican your head is spinning as you try to wrap your brain around that concept, but take it slow....you can get this if you focus and really really try.

For all of you who complained about all the money we spent on the war, you're about to drain the coffers in one day for what it took the war to do in eight years.

LONGV – Your an idiot. Neither Obama or his party ever said he was God or the Messiah or any other religious figure you hypacrit. Figures the first thing you repugs go after is education. How the hell are we to compete with the rest of the world with idiots like you. Our childrens education it the biggest resource this country has in making a difference for generations and no tax cuts could ever replace that.

Why do all those in favor of the bill have boot marks on their foreheads that match Nancy Pelosi's footwear?

Is it a total failure where we take fully 50% of the ideas from a party that seems to think tax cuts can save the small businesses they tout so highly? BOO.
I hope the GOP finally figured out that spending money on computers for public community colleges counts as infrastructure spending... idiots!

the problem is the republicans still have a way to hold this country at bay at times even tho alot of them where voted out it was not enough.they will not budge a inch for this country becuase its there party they want to keep even tho it was them who put this country inthis mess, for 8 years they have slowly dug america into a patteren that makes them think they really need them, when they took over we had a surplus , in in a short time we had bushes war he wanted, while poeple like channey profited from the war with his holdings that got goverment contracts, and just made him that much richer , it matters no it was with blood stained hands he helped put our military which was reguarded asome of the best in the world, slowly he molde them into a third world military with no reguards to the genivia convention and now our military has become as so many others kill who ever gets in your way , do what you must to get a false confession.

We need to keep the green jobs, energy conservation, and investment in renewables in the stimulus package! We need to keep education in the package. Both of these things are investment in the future AND the create/maintain jobs!!! Why do the Republicans stick up for big oil? They want to maintain our perilous position in the world were we depend on the Middle East? Stimulus = Spending!!!! Spend on education, conservation and renewables. Spend on infrastructure! I wish Dems had enough votes without the Obstructionist Republicans!!! Spend to create jobs. The private sector is going to pocket their tax refund/rebates. They are not going to buy equipment or create jobs!!!! Spending = Stimulus!

  19. It aint't over til it's over

This bill is not over til it is over. As has been their past practice, watch for Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to try to slip in several last minute midnight provisions and dollars which could yet turn this into a train wreck.

The reason that people expect more from Obama is because he promised a lot more. He was against Bush and McCain policies and he had the only answers. He said that after Jan. 20 everything would change and be wonderful. He set the pace with his promises. He was going to hit the ground running. He needs to deliver. If he was sent by God, they both need to hurry up.

God help us. Where Are the lifeboats?

Watching this administration in action for the first three weeks on this ecnomic crisis, and it is as though President Obama is the captain of the Titantic that just struck the iceberg and the boat is sinking.

Nancy Pelosi is on board buying more deck chairs and silverware; while Harry Reid is back on deck yelling at the iceberg, and Captain Obama yells at the engine room for more speed as the boat goes down by the bow.

And all the while, the liberal media keep reporting that Captain Obama is doing a magnificent job of setting off flares and fireworks searching for help from anyone.

    Change has come to Washington.

Does anyone know the details of this bill? Anyone? This bill originated in the House where it was loaded with pork. No republicans were even allowed to participate, yet GOP votes are wanted. Dems are not serious about stimulus. They are serious about pork Can anyone in Congress EVER do the right thing??
