In a letter to the president, the former vice presidential candidate urges Obama to discuss the construction of an Alaska natural gas pipeline when he sits down with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

(CNN) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made a special appeal to President Obama Friday, asking him to keep her state in mind when he travels to Canada in two weeks.

In a letter to the president, the former vice presidential candidate urges Obama to discuss the construction of an Alaska natural gas pipeline when he sits down with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

“Alaskans have appreciated your strong support for the construction of such a pipeline," Palin wrote. "This project is now moving forward, and I believe that a discussion between you and Prime Minister Harper would greatly facilitate the process now under way.”

The pipeline, currently in planning stages, could reportedly generate thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in revenue for the state. Obama expressed support for the project during the campaign.

I'd rather hear about, oh, how she names her kids and stuff.

She's so darn pretty! I wonder how she prepares fish, and if she has any snow removal tips for us.

Did she apply perfume to the letter? She is such a wink-wink charmer.

Surely Palin must realize that after all of the absurd accusations and name-calling she engaged in just months ago, Obama would be far more likely to support this pipeline if she abstained from writing horribly fake letters.

You people who have posted on this are a bunch of idiots who have nothing else going on in your lives. She is the governor of a state in a nation where Obama is president. Regardless of their differing views, it is her job as governor to look out for the people and interests of her state. She is obviously doing a good job of this, or else her approval ratings wouldn't be so high. Those of you who are going to criticize her for doing her job need to get one yourself and stay off these posts until you have something intelligent to say; of course that would require some intelligence from you.

Sarah Palin knows how to get her name out there, and she is doing it. There is a lot of negative talk about her on this forum, but when you go abroad she is well received. When I read these comments, I wonder why there are some that thinks shes so dumb. I mean she Governs a state, and does a fine job at it. She raises a family at the same time. She seems committed to her husband (a rare thing these day's). She has a high approval rating among her state, and her peers.
Shes successful, and naturally pretty. She believes in something and actually stands by it no matter how popular

Oh my goodness! You people are ridiculous. She is the governor of the state of Alaska, whether you like it or not. He is her president. What is she supposed to do? Be against everything he wants and never fight for her state. The way you people are talking on here, you really want Alaska to not be a part of our country because she is the governor. Get real! CNN just happens to print everything she says whether or not it is newsworthy (which this is not.) Get a grip!

It's just amazing how utterly ignorant you Palin basher's are.

She has made way more headway on getting this gas line project started than all of her predecessors combined. You may not like her politics or what you perceive is her social agenda , but to diss her on this project only makes you look stupid.

Those who disrespect Gov. Palin are only disrespecting themselves. If there were a compilation (and there may be somewhere) of all the unprecedented vitriolic slander directed at this absolutely charming intelligent and RESPECTFUL woman, it would deserve a place of honor in a Hall Of Shame.
I have come to the conclusion that certain types of people need scapegoats and sacrificial victims to satisfy some kind of atavistic sadism that compels them to attack what is beautiful and good. Any NORMAL human being, would be able to see that Sarah Palin is a down to earth good person and agree or disagree with her policies and positions, afford the high respect that is her DUE, that she DESERVES, for her honest work on behalf of the American People and her lifelong efforts to live in a loving, intelligent and moral life..

It amuses me that most people who post in these blogs end up quoting Tina Fey instead of Sarah Palin
some of you need to show the same maturity of our President that you voted for, and get on with your little lives. Sarah Palin got where she was because of her intelligence, integrity, and willingness to serve.
If she were as dumb as many of you pretend she is, she would be spending all day posting hate mail here instead of serving as governor of one of our states.
