(CNN) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made a special appeal to President Obama Friday, asking him to keep her state in mind when he travels to Canada in two weeks.
In a letter to the president, the former vice presidential candidate urges Obama to discuss the construction of an Alaska natural gas pipeline when he sits down with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
“Alaskans have appreciated your strong support for the construction of such a pipeline," Palin wrote. "This project is now moving forward, and I believe that a discussion between you and Prime Minister Harper would greatly facilitate the process now under way.”
The pipeline, currently in planning stages, could reportedly generate thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in revenue for the state. Obama expressed support for the project during the campaign.

First off CNN...just how long do we have to continue to hear her called the formed vice-presidential candidate!?!? Let's get back to the basics...she is Governor Sarah Palin and that is even an understatement!!!!!
If I were President Obama I would tell this pathetic twit to do her job and get help to the natives who are without food and heat in Alaska! Yet in Sarah's world...it is more important to set-up her Political Action Committee "SarahPac" and have individuals donate their hard earned money to it so that she hob-knob with the Washington elite she claimed NOT TO BE on the 08campaign trail. She is such a hypocrite!
So did Palin actually send this letter to the POTUS, or did she just release it to the media? I'm curious, because this is the first letter from a governor to a POTUS that I recall seeing in the media, and I would suppose such letters are written all the time.
Interesting how she is suddenly ready to cozy up to someone who she claims 'pals with terrorists.' If that isn't hypocritical, I don't know what is. She went to a governor's dinner with Obama. Does that mean she pals around with terrorists as well? Any of you Republican Palin apologists want to explain that one?

It is my understanding that President Obama's visit to Canada will be (at the organization of the White House) less than 6 hours and _not_ a true state visit.
I hardly see where Mrs. Palin has any right to be asking for special favour when the time that Mr. Obama's handlers has arranged is so very brief.
Perhaps at a later time and date her request might be suitable, but not now.
Sarah Palin, don't you dare to use our Canadian land for your selfish profits on your gas pipeline to use as your transportation on our beautiful province,s Alberta or British Columbia and you can transport your gas to the western states via the ship and it is your problem not our Canadians and you take an advantage of us. the two things about Sarah Palin that I don't think have been adequately appreciated are, number one, if you look at the numbers, she really wasn't that different than Barack Obama in terms of experience and time in office, and [things] like that. The real big difference between the two was she hadn't campaigned non-stop for two years, and had she campaigned non-stop on the national stage for two years she'd have been just as polished as Barack Obama. She's a phenomenal politician and there's no better retail politician on the planet than Sarah Palin with a microphone in front of a crowd. So I think the big experience gap was the one that is about running on a national ticket—he had a lot more experience there and it showed up.

Why does CNN continue to post these stories, it's like throwing blood in the water for sharks. All the people that supported Obama, you know the ones for hope and change, live to attack this woman and say horrible, hate filled things. It's like a sickness. I just didn't vote for her,but the hope and change folks are scary, I wonder why they didn't listen to Obama when he asked that the hate stop. Perhaps they should google his speech.
Why isn't Sarah Palin taking care of Trig? I think her political career is fueled by an overwhelming desire to run away from the real, day-to-day challenges of being a mom to a special needs child. It's simply pathetic!

Is this the same pipeline that she "stood up" to the oil companies about, and awarded the contract to a CANADIAN company>? So what happened was, none of the oil companies will now agree to pump oil through it, so the Canadian company delayed construction. ...She is tough but she has a lot to learn about how to get projects done. I would love to see President Obama (doesn't that bug you conservatives???
) work out a deal where there could be a JOINT US-Canada pipeline benefiting ALL citizens.

I must say, though I cannot stand anything about Sarah Palin, some of you are making far too big a deal about this.
The only reason any of you are getting worked up is because it's Palin, and it's an odd juxtaposition with her asking Obama for help.
Think about it as though it's a different Alaska governor, and a different president. It would be a story that didn't even make the front pages, and nothing would seem strange about that governor working with the president to accomplish this. None of you would know or care.
Those who disrespect Gov. Palin are only disrespecting themselves. If there were a compilation (and there may be somewhere) of all the unprecedented vitriolic slander directed at this absolutely charming intelligent and RESPECTFUL woman, it would deserve a place of honor in a Hall Of Shame.
I have come to the conclusion that certain types of people need scapegoats and sacrificial victims to satisfy some kind of atavistic sadism that compels them to attack what is beautiful and good. Any NORMAL human being, would be able to see that Sarah Palin is a down to earth good person and agree or disagree with her policies and positions, afford the high respect that is her DUE, that she DESERVES, for her honest work on behalf of the American People and her lifelong efforts to live in a loving, intelligent and moral life
