(CNN) – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made a special appeal to President Obama Friday, asking him to keep her state in mind when he travels to Canada in two weeks.
In a letter to the president, the former vice presidential candidate urges Obama to discuss the construction of an Alaska natural gas pipeline when he sits down with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
“Alaskans have appreciated your strong support for the construction of such a pipeline," Palin wrote. "This project is now moving forward, and I believe that a discussion between you and Prime Minister Harper would greatly facilitate the process now under way.”
The pipeline, currently in planning stages, could reportedly generate thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in revenue for the state. Obama expressed support for the project during the campaign.

Governor Sarah Palin is a force to be reckoned with and you know it!
Obama has demonstrated his inadequacy in a very short time. He is no leader but he follows Pelosi quite well. Maybe because he has been mentored by Michelle for years?
But Sarah – that pipeline would include spending on the government's part. Aren't you a Republican and against spending? Shouldn't you just give tax cuts to the pipeline company so they invest the savings into building the pipeline? Why do we (America) have to help build it? If it is a viable enterprise won't the free market just build it? Why isn't the pipeline company negotiating with Canada? We have a North America Free Trade Agreement. I am sure if the pot is sweet enough then the company can build it, operate it and have zero government involvement (just like the Republicans like). Why are you so involved? Why do you push this pipeline? Free Market is the Republican mantra. Are you really a Republican?
I wish the people posting on this thread would actually stop for a minute and listen to themselves.

During the campaign she claimed the Pipeline deal was a "DONE DEAL". Now she is writing letters to the President to "remind him of how much Alaskans appreciate his continued support". This Village Idiot is a certified joke. She needs to move in with the Ground Hog and not come out until next year and then only for one moment.
This is two pieces of media on you today. I believe that one Republican made a suggestion that you go the desert for a while. But you just can not stay out of the media–poor sara. After the way that you treated Obama on the campaign trail and you can still write him a letter, if it suits your needs–then I guess it is OK for you.
Last I heard – no one had gotten permission from the Canadian Native tribes to cross thier reservations with this pipeline. Getting permission could take years, but when she was running for VP she acted like it was a donwe deal and all to her credit.

What Palin has neglected is the fact that the sovereign First Nation Canadians want no part of this pipeline.
Steven Harper and the Canadian government have NO control over their lands and the pipeline must go through more than a few of these.
It will never happen. As a Canadian I'm more than familiar with First Nations, and many of my family members are First Nations peoples.

Sarah Palin, has been Gov. of Alaska for two years longer than President Obama has been president. This is an ongoing project and she is trying to use polite politics to encourage the President to pull through with his campaign position. I am just glad that you all agree that this pipeline is needed for our economy! We will settle for that.
