Obama: This 'wasn't how I envisioned my presidency' beginning

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Barack Obama told reporters that pushing for a $800 billion stimulus plan to pump up the ailing economy was not the way he envisioned he would begin his term in the White House.

"Look, I would love not to have to spend money right now. I'd love - you know, this notion that somehow I came in here just ginned up to spend $800 billion... that wasn't how I envisioned my presidency beginning. But we have to adapt to existing circumstances," President Obama told reporters at his prime time news conference at the White House.

If he did not envision this is how his presidency would start, then where was he living and what was his awareness of what was going on in the country that elected him as president?

Really? It wasn't? As I recall, back in October, both Obama and MaCain were making personal phone calls to Congressional reps, telling them to vote "yes" for that bailout. More and more and more bailouts was exactly what he had in mind . What better way to push the U.S. economy over the edge and begin starving the people until they are willing to accept – in fact, scream for – globalization and a complete dismantling of the Constitution of the United States? Perfect, unforeseeable "Storm"? I think not. More like, Carefully Crafted and Executed New World Order, ala Carroll Quigley.

  6. The Real Issue

    Fellow Americans,

I believe the President did not want a stimilus package but unfortunately and incitefully he saw the need. This package will work and those Republicans that do not look vote for this package will pay the price in 2010.

Americans see that Republicans are not for the average American. This package is about jobs and about a turnaround. The Republicans have nothing to offer except tax cuts that alone will not solve the problem. Republicans had 8 years with 6 in control of the Congress and failed!!!

    Dear Members of Congress,

Keep doing what you are doing and your party will lose more seats. Just watch as your seats in Congress will diminish possibly to 35 seats. Better work with the President and show some bi-partisanship or lose your seat. THAT'S NOT A THREAT, THAT'S A FACT.

It is rather surprising that he feels this way too. He is real proud of his republican cabinet like the Commerce nominee who wanted to close down his new department. Some record jobs coming from this friends on the hill just by federal spending ASAP. Hopefully the obama lobbyists can find some money to stimulate their sectors.

I can imagine how disappointed President Obama must be in the beginning of his presidency.

After all his talk about "change" and "belief", he probably started to believe his own propaganda, and thought everything would just be kittens, gumdrops, and rainbow once he was anointed Messiah.

Neither did we, comrade. It's much, much worse than any American could have imagined.

Why is it so hard for people to believe him? Are we so jaded toward politicians that we can't accept his explanations? Why on earth would a man purposely subject himself to so much grief if he wasn't determined and driven to help the country?

Nor did many of his supporters envisioned his inability to bring a much needed bipartisanship. He seriously has alot more to answer for because someone or some group is going to benefit. I have seen this kind of same mistake before that could cost the economic and identity of a super power.

Mr. President: You followed the worst president in the history of this country. There was no way you could anticipate how difficult any of this would be. However, inspite of your desire for bipartisan cooperation, you should have seen the Republican foot-dragging coming a mile away. These fools can't afford for you to succeed. They, and Rush & Co., would rather see America go down in flames than to see you succeed. Keep pushing forward, Sir. I believe you are on the right track.

While President Obama may have inherited this mess, he spent a fortune campaigning to win the opportunity to show us what he is made of. You can't have it both ways, either quit complaining about it or get busy and show us; the voters that we were correct; you were the right person for the job.
I am rather curious about the jobs saved being added to the language, are we going to be happy with no actual new jobs being created but someone telling us our job was one of those saved, that is slick, real slick! How do you argue with that?
You asked for it, you got it, now get busy and fix this mess.

Quit whining about what you inherited Barry, you wanted the Presidency so bad that you purchased it, so deal with it, you are a usurper and should not be there anyway. So go back to Kenya or Indonesia or wherever you belong.

If this thing happens to pan out where everyone has Jobs, and the economy recovers, believe me, the Rebublicans will never, never,
never get elected, or re-elected to anything, period. No wonder O'Reilly
at Fox is predicting that in the future, there will be more "blue states"
and more states going towards the Dems in the future.

As for Obama's popularity, that he is, for sure.....I watched the one
hour news conference on monday nite, and this guy makes # 43 look like the dumbest person on this earth....( even worse than most people would think ) how he got elected President I'll never know....

Obama is tactful / smart / witty / and has proven that he knows something about every subject the news media threw at him....

If I was as smart as Obama, I would have been a "Corporate

For the life of me, I cannot believe the gang of Republicans voted to support all the irresponsible spending George Bush carried out with arrogance, foolishness and ignorance like Ali baba and the 40 thieves, they looted the U.S. treasury. This, a product of their deep ideology that preaches narcissism. What are the hypocrites talking about now? They are to be seen not heard! That's if we can even stand their horrible site.

This is not where I evisioned my current livihood being. Work hard, live the "American Dream" – good job, decent wages, good health care, comfortable home, decent transportation, etc.. What I got – fair health care, nearly fair wages, decent home, decent transportation etc.. What I have to look forward to ? No job, no health care, no home, transportation, no college funds, in other words, very possibly sleeping under a bridge like thousands of Americans.

Why? No Job- outsourced, no job – can't pay mortgage, no job – can't pay car note, no job – no health care (can't afford COBRA without job), no job – no transportation, no job – no savings, loans or grants for college funds.

Oh, Please!!! With his lack of experience, it's no wonder he had no idea how to envision the start of his presidency.

He should know that most incoming Democratic Presidents always have to clean up the mess of a Republican President. We now have high hopes for our Country and pray that in future elections the American people will never put up with the FAILED POLICIES OF THE GOP. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

If we had true Bible believing Leaders in our goverments from city states and Washington DC. We wouldn't be in this shape to begin with.
Those that are found breaking the rules and trying to cover it up should not be allowed to make decision and rules for anyone else to follow.
Those that have misused what they have been given to get them out of the downfall and was to help the American people, should be striped of their jobs and give back what they received and given to those that that did play by the rules but still need the help. Also make sure rom now on there want be a handout every time someone screams "I'm SINKING!! EVERYONE NEEDS TO LEARN HONESTY, 'RESPONSIBILITY and GOOD WORK ETHICS and IN GOD WE TRUST!!

I thought this was ALL GWB and the resmugplicans fault? Why would the potus even entertain such thoughts. Surely there must be a way to nail this on them and let Obama get about the business of CHANGE! OOPS...this spendulus package is about change(ka-ching). AND YOU CAN BELIEVE IN THAT. Your government will never be the same. Kinda like that little St bernard puppy you brought home a year ago. The more things change the more they stay the same......kinda sorta....fiscally that is!
