President Obama bumps his head

CNN

The President bumped his head as he stepped into Marine One Monday morning at the White House.

WHITE HOUSE (CNN) - There was a minor bump on the road - actually a minor bump on the head - as President Barack Obama departed Monday for Elkhart, Indiana to sell his stimulus plan to Americans.

While boarding Marine One on Monday morning, the president turned to wave goodbye and ever so slightly bumped the left side of his head on the doorway to the helicopter. He seemed to recover quickly, then ducked before boarding the helicopter that would take him to Air Force One. Unfortunately for Obama, there were many cameras there to capture the accident.

This isn’t the first time a president’s head has collided with Marine One: President George W. Bush hit his head on the side of the helicopter while boarding shortly after taking office — also in full view of a row of cameras.

Luckily for both men, no visible signs of injury resulted from the minor mishap.

The fall of humanity will be traced directly back to the introduction of the 24 hour news network.

This piece is evidence of that. What an atrocious waste of time.

I was thinking he actually hit his head, not awkwardly lower his head into Marine One. Slow news day, CNN?

I don't have any problem with Late Night Talk Shows making fun of the President for bashing his head into a helicopter but it isn't real news and its out of place in the Political Tracker. If the Bush version of this story was news way back when it was out of place then too.

Not to be stodgy, but it was apparently news everytime Bush gaffed. People actually went out of their way to doctor photo's to make the man appear more stupid than he arguably is. I didn't think it was news then, and don't now, but are you guys really that suprised?

How much does his trip to Elkhart, IN cost? In this age of technology and his love for it, and given the economy, does he REALLY need to make that trek?

I work for a startup in Silicon Valley and am faced with working for free in a few weeks and he's spending tens of thousands of dollars for a minor talk?

Mr. President, please sacrifice some of these trips and donate the money to businesses who really need it.

Maybe bumping his head will wake him up so he sees how flawed Nancy Pelosi's "recovery" plan is.
