Crist to Obama: 'It's getting harder every day'

(CNN) – Florida’s Republican Gov. Charlie Crist appeared with President Barack Obama Tuesday to urge passage of the president’s $838 billion stimulus package.

Watch: Crist introduces Pres. Obama

“Our budget is in balance here in Florida,” said Crist, introducing Obama in Fort Myers. “In fact, we’ve had to cut about $7 billion over the past two years, and we haven’t raised taxes and we’re still in balance. But, to be candid, it’s getting harder every day.”

Passage of the stimulus package was important, Crist said, in order to help support education, infrastructure, and health care in his state. “This is not about partisan politics. It’s about rising above that, helping America, and reigniting our economy,” said Crist.

Crist was one of 19 governors, including four Republicans, to release a joint letter publicly urging Congress to to pass the president’s stimulus package — a move that earned him an appreciative phone call from Obama.

For all you libs telling us conservatives to leave the country, are you going to print money for ever?????We seem to be the only one paying taxes. How would a liberal country operate when many of you have never worked a day in your life.

Put a 100 liberals on an island check back in a 100 years my guess they would all be gone. Put 100 conservatives on an island and check back I bet you have a thriving society

Put 100 Repugs on an Island and check back in a year. You'll have 2 people thriving 8 people doing ok and 90 poor people convinced that if they keep giving the 2 thriving people more things then it will trickle down to them.

At that point the 2 thriving peoples worst nightmare would be 1 liberal person talking nonsense about the thriving people doing anything to help the poor people. They would probably have him executed for not towing the party line :-)

Yeah...Florida has a balanced budget and it's a Republican state...having been run by Republicans. Imagine that. The American people voted for and will get a liberal government and thank God the Republicans will be there to pick up the mess when it's over. Unfortunately, we will have to endure terrorist attacks and set backs in the process.

I am happy to report to realistic Repiblicans like Governor Crist that both of my Republican Senators heard his call for action.

Hopefully in this case as " Maine goes so goes the nation".

wow I see we are still blaming the GOP for every short coming in the world. Don't get me wrong, Bush wasn't even close to being a good POTUS but you people refuse to take ownership of some problems your created yourself.

Buying a house you can't afford
    Living off credit
    Not planing for your future
    Living above your means
Not voting in the past local, state and national election
Turning a blind eye as long as you got what you wanted
Not standing up for your fellow Americans as they lost their jobs overseas…

This package should be about getting Americans back on our feet but not living off the Government.

This package isn't about giving money to any and all social programs, I bet 99% of you hasn't even taken the time to read whats in the package.

Its both the Dems and GOP fault we are in this mess and lest not forget the general public for our parts, too.----------– This posting is perhaps one of the sanest in this blog. Just keep jumping on repubs and keeping playing up king Obama and he will save us all...right?

Foxnews, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Ingram, AND THE REST OF THE RNC ARE GOING TO HAVE A STROKE now that you support Obama's plan, and as a penalty, you will be ostracized for it.

On behalf of President Obama, and you, Gov. Crist, allow me to say my response to them, as a proud African American AND as a Floridian:

    FRACK THEM!!!!!!!!
