(CNN) –- MoveOn.org named a new executive director Tuesday to head up the daily operations of one of the largest liberal political action committees in the nation.

Former National Organizing Director Justin Ruben was appointed to the post, held until recently by Eli Pariser. Ruben, a long-time political organizer, aided in the establishment of the group’s field organizing program, and headed the 2006 “Call for Change” campaign that facilitated in the election of a Democratic congressional majority, and served as a supervisor for two years in MoveOn's issue campaigns.

"I am honored to take the helm of this organization at this critical moment," said Ruben. "Our five million members stand ready to fight for President Obama's progressive agenda of creating jobs, developing a new green economy, providing health care for all and ending the war in Iraq."

Eli Pariser, the committee’s former executive director, will transition to president of the board.

MoveOn.org supported Barack Obama’s White House bid, a first-time endorsement move for the PAC. Since the organization’s inception, the 527 turned 501(c)(4) organization has spent millions of dollars on ad campaigns and grassroots organizing.

Name once Christ said government forced charity was how he intended to further his movement. Name once Christ said Socialism is better than freedom. Name once Christ promoted the progressive ideology of Move on .org

Hoover began the stripping of our Constitution by, yep you guessed it a government bail out. Then FDR all of you LIb's hero further raped the Constitution by putting more power in the hands of the Federal Government and less to the States and yes SPEND SPEND SPEND. This Power amounted to over 3000 executive orders during his Administration. If a Liberal would take the time to read the Constitution they might cry foul to more than just the Bush Administration!

I don't believe that Obama or congress has taken away our right for free speech, at least not yet. Until that time while we may not agree what the other side feels, there is no reason to make disparaging remarks about whether we support what the leftist group MoveOn emphasizes or what people from the right like Hannity or Limbaugh support. Bottom line is we are all Americans.

There is so much hatred from the left. Every other car I see has a hateful liberal bumper sticker.

The silent majority is conservatism. Too bad there were no conservative Presidential candidates in 2008.

I've been a longtime member of MoveOn.org and consider it a lfiesaver. I was despairing over Bush's failed policies and couldn't understand why everyone didn't get it. Then, while working for Howard Dean it was forwarded to me and I realized plenty of people got it. I didn't feel alone in wondering where our country was headed.

So kudos to all of them and congratulations to Justin. I expect more of the great same.

This group is dangerous. They are dishonest and slanderous to our former president and to our troops. Why anyone would want to support a group like this and call themselves patriotic is beyond me.

So what is MoveOns mission now? Since they back Barack, who are they going to go after now? The few remaining Republicans? That will make them just look like bullies...I think MoveOn needs to MoveOn, or DissolveNow.

MoveOn.org should help finance the primary campaigns of the GOP senators who are backing the stimulus bill, in response to the predictably nasty threat from that party's fund raiser(s)

    Questions for the left:

If Bush administration spending was wasteful and bad, then how is spending another trillion not a bad thing?

Does bi-partisanship mean check your brain at the door and vote whatever way the administration tells you to vote so "we can all be in this together"?

Has there been a campaign promise this adminstration hasn't broken yet? Let's review – backtrack on ethics – check; backtrack on allowing lobbyists to work for this administration – check; speak out against outsourcing but have outsourcing proponents on staff – oops – check, etc.

Does Joe Biden realize he's the vice president?

Do Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid realize Obama is a democrat?

Should we be concerned that the secretary of the treasury couldn't figure out the tax code – for FIVE years?
