What has she done with her life? Well, she built Pigeon Forge from nowhere into a thriving tourist attraction for Tennessee, bringing in millions of dollars annually for the state. She created a reading program designed to get books into the hands of underprivileged children that now spans, I believe, ten states. While I hold Parton in higher esteem than I do Palin (Parton is a very shrewd business person, Palin is merely a "celebrity" with virtually no accomplishments), I think what we really need is a constitutional convention to re-write our constitution.

There is something really wrong when one party wins overwhelming majorities in both houses of Congress and its candidate wins the presidency by an overwhelming margin, yet the ruling party cannot actually govern effectively due to the opposition's road blocks.

At the least we need to amend the constitution to change the 60-vote cloture rule since most of the time a minority party can block legislation from coming to a vote.

A woman would make a good president. However, unlike other progressive nations all over the globe the beloved USA just cannot muster up enough determination to elect one. In 2008 we had the chance. A well=qualified woman vied for the position, but instead the Democratic party nominates a community organizer from Chicago. And because his empty promises were perceived as better than any other candidate he emerges as the victor. Other nations are leaving the US in the dust. It gradually ceases to be relevant. And it is certainly not progressive. Its economy is in a shambles and will most likely remain so for decades. I blame all politicians for this.

Uh Dolly, the terrorists we're looking for are hiding in the mountains, not the woods. Just keep doing whatever it is you do and be happy.

I was just reading the comments on the Hannity/Obama beer article, and I'm seriously starting to fear for America if the writing abilities displayed here are representative of our population. I read about 30 comments, and only five of them were even readable.

I don't blame the education system or funding for the education issues in our nation. I went to a very poor school district, graduated with honors, Dean's List througout college, and went on to a successful career. Bad parents are the problem, and it seems that about 80% of the posters here never properly learned the English language. A grammar mistake is one thing, stringing together complete nonsense sentences is another...

During the primaries, in closed primary states, only Democrats could vote for the candidates on the Democrat ticket; thusfore, meaning Democrats were willing to vote for a woman. She was the second runner up.
Republicans did not even consider a woman until Hillary was out of the way. Palin was USED to get the PUMA vote.
Now the Republicans are acting like they are diverse by electing a black man for the leader of the RNC. He will be USED also.
