Parton hoping Obama isn't a 'boob'

Parton spoke at the National Press Club Tuesday.

Parton spoke at the National Press Club Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Famed entertainer Dolly Parton said Tuesday she thinks a woman would make a good president — but she wouldn’t.

"Somebody said to me, 'Well, you know what - you've got such a big mouth and you know how to talk to people, did you ever think about running for president?'” the country singer told an audience at the National Press Club. I said, 'I think we've had enough boobs in the White House, but hopefully [President] Obama ain't gonna be one of them.'"

Parton, who is in Washington to promote the 75th anniversary of Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains National Park, also joked a woman may be especially suited to show wrath against terrorist threats.

"Every 28 days, those terrorists better run deeper into them woods," she said, to laughter. "That's all I can say if we get a woman in there."

Southerncousin, Alot of democrats did vote for a woman. Senator Clinton in the primaries. If you think we won't vote for a woman because we didn't vote for Palin than you must be sharing her brainpan which is the size of a gnats.

I was just reading the comments on the Hannity/Obama beer article, and I'm seriously starting to fear for America if the writing abilities displayed here are representative of our population. I read about 30 comments, and only five of them were even readable.

I don't blame the education system or funding for the education issues in our nation. I went to a very poor school district, graduated with honors, Dean's List througout college, and went on to a successful career. Bad parents are the problem, and it seems that about 80% of the posters here never properly learned the English language. A grammar mistake is one thing, stringing together complete nonsense sentences is another...

Uh Dolly, the terrorists we're looking for are hiding in the mountains, not the woods. Just keep doing whatever it is you do and be happy.

A woman would make a good president. However, unlike other progressive nations all over the globe the beloved USA just cannot muster up enough determination to elect one. In 2008 we had the chance. A well=qualified woman vied for the position, but instead the Democratic party nominates a community organizer from Chicago. And because his empty promises were perceived as better than any other candidate he emerges as the victor. Other nations are leaving the US in the dust. It gradually ceases to be relevant. And it is certainly not progressive. Its economy is in a shambles and will most likely remain so for decades. I blame all politicians for this.

Dolly Parton needs to stick to what she knows, and not comment on
what she doesn't. The part about the "every 28 days" is a genderistic slight that we just don't need in this day and age.

Dolly, go back to the shack and close the door–you can't possibly contribute anything worth repeating.

You gotta love Dolly. Hey, by republican standards she is ultimately qualified for office. She is good looking, she can speak well, and she executive experience. Although her executive experience is real, and not imagined. Now, the only thing left to answer is whether or not she can see Russia from one of those mountains in Tennessee...

"Unfortunately, she is a woman who speaks her mind. Democrats will not vote for a woman. They will tear her down, thats easy, they will belittle her, that is fun for them. But they have proven that they are sexist"

At first when I read this I was completely baffled how anyone could even state this. Then I saw it came from someone named "SouthernCousin" and it made perfect sense.

OMFG!!!!!! What the hell is wrong w/ these idiots. Why don't they just let a Schlub like me run for president, if all the repugs can do is come up w/ dumb ideas like Dolly for Pres. What has she done w/ her life other than write some songs and have huge boobs. Absolutely nothing and if that qualifies her than I am just as qualifed, working in a office and crying b/c the GOP is trying to destroy this country.
