NBA all-stars weigh in on Obama’s game.

He scored a big win on the Hill this week, but does President Obama have what it takes on the hardwood? Basketball greats Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, Steve Nash, Grant Hill and Chris Paul grade the president's game for CNN's John King.

Watch their analysis, and catch King's full interview with these NBA all-stars this Sunday on State of the Union, 9 am – 1 pm ET on CNN.

How is this different than Bush playing golf or riding a bike for exercise while our country was going to the dogs with 2 wars and a financial meltdown. You right wing morons only see what you want to see, and if Hannity and Rush and the lot were so brilliant why did they follow the extreme right wing down the path to destroying this country. Failed politics bad ideas and and once again ignoring the will of the people. Gomwatch nascar, I'm sure watching cars go in a circle will keep your minds busy for awhile.

ericab   February 14th, 2009 3:08 pm ET

I didn't hear or read any of these complaints from republicans for the past 8 yrs. Keep in mind we were bankrupt before he took his oath as president. Bush had alreay left this mess the republicans are now all of a sudden complaining about. Get real. Yeah he's going to spend a lot of money, see if it works before you start to complain. And don't forget, any benefit that any of you complaining repubs may get, be sure to send it right on back to Washington. Tell your pres. that you want it to go into savings for your country.

We Shall Overcome   February 14th, 2009 11:14 am ET

Ooops! I'm sorry.....Head Cheerleader! No disrespect intended "W".

We Shall Overcome   February 14th, 2009 11:10 am ET

Good or Bad his game has got to be better than a cheerleader!

lashun   February 14th, 2009 9:13 am ET

I am sure I am not alone. I spent 20 bucks for jam session tickets and the all stars didn't come for the fans that support them.

lashun   February 14th, 2009 9:10 am ET

I think considering economy the nba all star events shouldn't cost so much for fans that promote ratings. I have be a fan for 30 years, and I live in phoenix I wish that kobe bryant wound come to free block party.

GT   February 14th, 2009 3:22 am ET

would like to see him shoot around w/ Mike, LeBron, Magic, Larry, Isahi

Joseph   February 14th, 2009 12:53 am ET

It's kinda nice to see the media being nice to a President for a change... The last 2 got hammered pretty bad. I hope this holds...

Patriot Guy   February 13th, 2009 11:32 pm ET

What a stupid lame idea for a story.

Jackie   February 13th, 2009 11:28 pm ET

The Republicans need to think serious about what is really happening with the economy and start working with Democrats. Shoot a few baskets for the American people. It's common sense, you divide to read the stimulus by the number of republicans(36) and then meet to discuss it. That could've been done in twenty-four hours or less. That's if they cared enough for the American people. That's how hard we work to get things done in America. The American people need to see the names of those Republicans posted so that we can make changes come election time.

New Yorker   February 13th, 2009 11:27 pm ET

Sorry, but you closed comments for the Hillary item. She's planning on "reversing the trend of global warming"? Um, that would be God's job wouldn't it? Steppin' on Obama's toes, eh?

Obama - NOPE   February 13th, 2009 11:27 pm ET

Basketball is the only thing Obama can do without a teleprompter.

KU Hawk   February 13th, 2009 11:22 pm ET

Will Obama invite the KU team to play on the White House court with him after they win the Final 4 again this year?

sherry   February 13th, 2009 11:20 pm ET

Obama plays ball good....
Bush probably bowls good
Different game ....different ages.....b-ball is a youner mans game

SueB   February 13th, 2009 11:18 pm ET

Too bad you didn't spend some time letting people know the realities of this stimulus package. Who gives a flip what anyone thinks of Obama's basketball skills. He's prez, not an NBA star!

An American   February 13th, 2009 11:03 pm ET

I think the "big win" part is still up for debate.

Bill   February 13th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Never mind that kind of fluff!

WHAT kind of horsepuckey is it that the Senate would vote on a MAJOR, MAJOR bill WITHOUT having had time to read/study it?

A gift for Obama for President's Day? WHAT A TRAVESTY! WE SHOULD ALL REVOLT!

John   February 13th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Obama is not weak, he is just trying to carry the republicans with him. He is doing the right thing, thats not a sign of weakness.

Mark   February 13th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

CNN loves gushing over this guy. Who cares about his game. Get back to the economy.

Hulio   February 13th, 2009 9:52 pm ET

how funny !

Tom   February 13th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

Change??? Really Obama is going to spend more money then Bush did in 8 years and all you talk about is Obama and basketball??

lovable liberal   February 13th, 2009 9:35 pm ET

John King weighs in on the President's game.

Ed   February 13th, 2009 9:25 pm ET

Whatever happened to Obama's "hip problem"? Total silence on that one – of course!

EBC, MD   February 13th, 2009 9:24 pm ET

THANK GOD we finally have a President that is very "well rounded" and very worldly. He can go from signing Executive Orders to having a round of beer with Jimmy Bob and still have some swaggert left to shoot some hoops with the fellas or watch the Super Bowl eating buffalo wings!!!

THIS is the kind of President you want, a President who is not "tunneled" in his thinking and looks at the BIGGER picture impacting the world.

President Obama is NOT PERFECT, I don't why so many Republicans act and sound off like they are PERFECT. We ALL know the REPUGS are nothing but COWARDS trying to obstruct the success of the President!!

I NEVER expected President Obama to solve ALL the problems in the White House. NO PRESIDENT can do that. But I do expect him to do his best and work HARD towards getting our country back on track.

I DON'T CARE what the Republican Leadership THINK or WANT, they are NOT the ones losing their jobs or their homes!!!

I DON'T CARE if the Republican Leadership keeps running OFF at the mouths, it just PROVES how SCARED they are of President Obama's stimulus plan working, their afraid of President Obama DOING BETTER than they ever dreamed possible!!!

REPUBLICANS ARE SO AFRAID PRESIDENT OBAMA WILL DIG THIS COUNTRY OUT OF THE HOLE THEY CREATED, WHICH WOULD MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE THE IDIOTS THEY TRULY ARE!!

Republicans don't CARE about doing what's RIGHT for the American People.

Republicans don't CARE that millions of families are losing their jobs and homes, THEY GET A BIG PAYCHECK, THEY HAVE A JOB!!

Republicans DON'T CARE about fixing this BIG hole they dug for the American people for 8 long years!!

WHAT REPUBLICANS ARE AFRAID TO DEATH OF, IS PRESIDENT OBAMA SUCCEEDING IN CHANGING THE WAY WE DO BUSINESS AND MOVING THIS COUNTRY FORWARD!!

REPUBLICANS WOULD RATHER STAY AND LIVE BACK IN THE "REAGAN YEARS"..... that's ALL they ever talk about. Reagan this, Reagan that.... Reagan said......

Who cares? Reagan is NOT here to clean this mess up and he wouldn't KNOW squat on where to begin cleaning this mess up.

Had It   February 13th, 2009 9:18 pm ET

This has nothing to do with the State of the Union, CNN. That's the Sunday Show

Then there's the Situation Room, the Line Item Veto, etc.

Label your items so we don't get exposed to the deception of your ignorant writers – unskilled ignorant writers. GOSSIP is better than your headlines and most articles.

CHEAP

S Callahan   February 13th, 2009 9:16 pm ET

Bill would get closer...lol....Obama has tried that move and they keep moving away......

Geri   February 13th, 2009 9:15 pm ET

Most of us don't care about his basketball playing and this is really getting old having to read this junk about Michelle being in Voguw and now his skills at basketball. Has anyone told you there is a crisis going on in this country and we should be more concerned with that. So far he's having a little rough road and I don't think he needs to waste all that fuel going around the states and talking about his stimulus package. Lets go back to serious stuff and get this other fodder off the ticker.

Sniffit   February 13th, 2009 9:09 pm ET

ha...next thing you know, GOPers will be claiming he has a terrible jumpshot so he must be faking that he's black

Diana Pile   February 13th, 2009 9:07 pm ET

That was cute. I know the conservatives don't like this, but I think it is fun to have a President who is just normal and doesn't feel he is above it all.

jaye   February 13th, 2009 8:38 pm ET

Every NBA player would be more than happy to play ball with Obama!

John G   February 13th, 2009 8:37 pm ET

William A. Schaedler from St. Louis   February 13th, 2009 8:34 pm ET

The whole country is gradually slipping into a depression and what does our great president do? Why play basketball of course!

DAVE IN CA   February 13th, 2009 8:31 pm ET

Death of America by Obama   February 13th, 2009 8:21 pm ET

obama truly stinks.

justified cynic   February 13th, 2009 8:14 pm ET

Why would anyone possibly care about this? This socialist lying moron is trying to bankrupt and destroy this country and there are actually people out there who care how he plays basketball. Incredible and sad all at the same time.

stephen marr   February 13th, 2009 8:10 pm ET

I love seeing our President doing the same things the american public does. It reminds me that he not only human, but also that he is just like us.
