Obama to Denver and Phoenix next week

WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Barack Obama will continue his tour around the country to push his economy recovery plan, making stops in Colorado and Arizona next week, the White House announced Friday.

Obama will travel to Denver on Tuesday to discuss his economic stimulus package. The president will spend Tuesday night in Arizona and will visit Phoenix on Wednesday, where he will deliver a speech and outline his plan to decrease home foreclosures.

Obama traveled to areas hit hard by the economic downturn this past week, holding town hall meetings in Elkhart, Indiana and Fort Myers, Florida. He met with workers at a Caterpillar plant in Peoria, Illinois on Thursday, after the company announced 22,000 layoffs.

Obama is just keeping it real by seeing what is really going on for his own two eyes. I am from Gilbert AZ and my ASU college of Technology and Innovation's degree is being removed along with like 60 other degrees and many parts of my college are being closed because of a $900M education cut because of my own Republican party. I will definitely go to his visit in AZ to express my opinions and provide my support.

President Bush never travelled, stayed in the white house and pushed his policies: people complained.
This President is travelling and letting peolple know what is going on: people are complaining.
It is impossible to satisfy everyone at the same time.
Let him do what he thinks he needs to do. But one thing is clear: this economy is in a bad shape and needs something to be done. It is clear that no one knows what will work: we have never been in this position before.
But everone knows what will not work : doing nothing or tax breaks for the rich.

I, for one, will be interested to hear what empty promises the President brings to Denver. I had to hand it to the Caterpillar exec who said, "Now, wait a minute – – -"

For 8 years the country had a president who either stayed in the white house or vacationed at his ranch in Texas. It is nice to see a president who isn't afraid to meet the public whether they agree with him or not.

This financial devastation the country is facing is unprecedented since the great depression. FDR went out to the people then. Obama is going out to the people now. This is exactly the time when a president must be visible.

When Bush and Greenspan decided it was in the best interest after 9/11 to spend, spend, and spend, while making it easier to do so, they sealed the country's fate. Greed, hubris, and excess took over.

Thank goodness that the country finally has a thoughtful, intelligent leader.

STOP CAMPAINING AND GET SOME WORK DONE, MR. OBAMA!

Campaigning season ended back in November of 08 when people blindly voted you into the White House. We already know that you are good with your tongue deceiving people – your rhetoric aside, give us something new now.

Poor Obama can't win with the CNN commentary public, can he?
He's touring the U.S. to gather support and see what needs to be done around the country with the stimulus, and you guys say he should stay in Washington and stop wasting tax dollars.
And yet if he stayed in Washington and said "No stimulus! The economy can cure itself!", you guys would accuse him of being out-of-touch and ambivalent towards the rest of the country's troubles.
How about we cut back on the dumb commentary with this: you just admit that nothing Obama (or government in general) does will ever make you happy, and then shut up for the next four years. Either that, or come up with a better idea.

does anyone understand that doctors, nurses and pharmacists can't find jobs. My uncle's hospital has closed and he is a doctor. So the auto industry is shot, banking industry is shot, pharmaceutical industry is shot, construction bussinesses are going down and now you people who are against the Bill probably live very posh and religious right wing lives.

Thos who oppose his "take it to the people" approach...um why would he take advice from a losing team? How did Bush's "stay in Washington" approach make it better?

Repubs, stop telling this man what to do! Your formula lost. Your campaign sucked big oranges. You may not like it, however thats the only way he knows its working. When you hate, we celebrate.

Bottom line, President Obama is not going to "fall-in-line." He is young and the world is changing and you have to move with change. I know the familiar is comfortable but, ITS NO LONGER WORKING.

President Obama continues to have my support. I love that he is showing up in struggling communities and giving The People a forum; it is a visual reminder that he is not the solution to our problems (we are). He is holding out a microphone for you (speak, even in dissent). He is a mirror, a mouthpiece, an amplifier, a candle. Participate, or don't (I'm sure you have your reasons). But calling him "phony" is hardly credible because he does not ask us to put our faith in him, but in each other. He is not a messiah, just a man that treats those around him with respect. Maybe we just forgot what that looks like.
