WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Obama - fresh off a political win in Washington after Congress passed his economic stimulus bill - will take his game to another set of constituents: basketball fans.

On Sunday, a pre-taped message from the president in which he promotes community service will air during the NBA All-Stars game in Phoenix, Arizona. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. EST and will air on TNT.

TNT is owned by CNN's parent company Turner Broadcasting System.

"In this time of so much need in our communities and across our country, we are blessed with endless ways to restore hope and opportunity in places that yearn for both," Obama will say according to excerpts released by the White House Saturday.

Obama's plea: "Prepare a care package for a soldier. Read to a child. Or fix up a local basketball court so the next generation can play and grow. ... Log on to USAService.org to find or create a project near you, then gather some friends and lace 'em up."

Obama's message is VERY similar to Bush's when it comes to serving others.

If he wants people to help on their own time and donate their services, then I think its time he considers all the fuel he is wasting running all over the States to promote the stimulus bill and his agenda. We have heard it all over and over. The stimulus bill isn't worth the paper its written out and has too many condition attached to it. By the way, befor you start with the nasty republican remarks towards me, I'm a democrat that just doesn't think he's doing what he claimed he would. He may have only been in office a couple weeks but they have been troubled weeks.

I do voluteer work through my church and don't need a bunch of hype from a person who says, "I'm not of proper pay grade to decide when life begins" and claims to be a christian to tell me to lace em up.

What a real joke this guy is and the MSM has bought into it and have made themselves look like little children worshipping their hero as they follow him around.

    To Jeema,

At first I thought it beneath me to respond to your inflamatory and ignorant comments, but I felt compelled to purge you of your falcely placed idolatry of Lincoln. He may have never appointed a someone who owes taxes to the government to his cabinet, but lets not forget that almost every selection to Lincoln's cabinet was made in exchange for him being nominated to the presidency. Also those involved in Lincoln's cabinet were far from perfect. Here's a history lesson for you; Sec. of War Simon Cameron was censured by congress for incompetence and corruption, Sec. of Treasury Hugh McCullough was an open racist who believed the white race was superior to blacks, Attorney General James Speed was widely criticized as being appointed for no other reason than that he was the brother of a close friend of Lincoln's, and Vice President/President Andrew Johnson was impeached for violating Executive Power and was one vote shy of being removed from office. I am as big a fan of Lincoln as anyone, but let's not pretend he was perfect in order to slander our current president.

Notice how the anti-Obama commenters all have horrible Grammar and Spelling? Some would say that shows a lack of intelligence. I would have to agree.

Don't like abortion? Don't have one! And stay the hell out of my uterus! I'm *glad* President Obama is for women's rights! You anti-choice people certainly don't care a thing about the kids once they're born.
