President Obama will sign the economic stimulus bill Tuesday in Denver, Colorado, two officials said Saturday.

(CNN) - President Obama will sign the economic stimulus bill Tuesday in Denver, Colorado, two senior administration officials confirm to CNN.

Both officials cited a desire to get out of Washington - to go, in the words of one official, “out west in an area hit hard economically, away from the politics of Washington.”

The other official described Denver as “a place that will see the benefits of the bill in hiring workers.”

Obama traveled to areas hit hard by the economic downturn last week, holding town hall meetings in Elkhart, Indiana and Fort Myers, Florida. He met with workers at a Caterpillar plant in Peoria, Illinois on Thursday, after the company announced 22,000 layoffs.

ob.ama bail.out – noun – Definition of current "Obama bailout":
When people honestly believe editing census data in a certain political party's favor is "change" and that increasing national debt is "change" and only visiting states that helped you win an election is "change" ... Then by God we should just call Mr. O by his real name - W.

Except worse - he's a lawyer; and if you trust lawyers running your executive, most of your legislative, and your judicial branches. So be it, but understand other nations will laugh at your blind trust in crooked lawyers. For reference of what the old world (e.g. Europe) thinks of lawyers check out some Mr. Charles Dickens from a library near you.

All you smart folks with the anti-Obama mantra: Read up on Deflation and see what its results can be. The money spent now may save your own "bottoms".

Not a math whiz – 787 b is about $2750 for each citizen but will ultimately cost our children closer to $20,000 each to repay. What a shame.

Coming back to Denver? Wow, we must have had an impression on him. Yeah, though, we've been pretty hard hit by the economic crisis. Everywhere I go I see businesses going out of business, and the number of homeless is way up. Even the kids I teach are feeling it... badly.

I wish I could go there and shake his hand. I'd love to talk to him about education and health issues (I'm teaching while studying for my board exams in medical school). I'll leave the economy to those who are more experienced in that area than I am. Still, those all tie in. I know I feel the crunch when I can't afford my medical copays and deductibles.

I'm grateful for all Obama is trying to do for the country. He may have one of the most difficult presidencies in history, due to the legacy left by the Bush administration. Well, not the most difficult. I think Lincoln still leads that witht he Civil War, but it's definitely going to be an extreme challenge.

Penn voter: Funny you didn't mention the trillions of dollars the GOP led Congress spent from 2001 thru 2006 which doubled the national debt...That's AFTER being handed a budget surplus by the Clinton administration....You have absolutely NO credibility trying to defend republican pork unless of course you think that spending trillions while cutiing taxes is YOUR idea of "sound" economic policy......

to "not a math whiz, but":
I liked your idea until I realized 300 million multiplied by 1 million does not equal 300 million, in fact, there are so many zeroes in the answer, I don't have time to type them out. Nice try though. With 600billion, each American could get 2,000 dollars. Thats pretty lame.

Where were you conservatives when bush and media rammed through the "projected" surplus tax cuts in 2001?
When during first 6 years(or last 2 years) did bush make ANY concessions to democrats?
Where were conservatives when bush stopped balancing the budget in 2001?
Methinks you republicans protest too much now that you gutted the economy and Social Security and reserves and Clinton surplus the last 8 years.

Sure, blame Pelosi and Reid for last 8 years-alzhiemers mainstream media does too.

So, driving here I hope, since you so condemned the banking ceo's for flying in their private jets I hope you won't be flying in yours either. Actually, better yet, stay in Washington. We don't need your stimulus.

  18. Wall Street boys take advantage of Obama's inexperience....

The boys on Wall St. made a fortune the past few years (and still got big bonuses this year) because they invented something called "financial engineering" in the housing/mortgage business.

When the house of cards collapsed, they ran to the gov't for bailout money and convinced the naive Obama that if they didn't get bailed out, the sky would fall. Obama panicked and spent our childrens money to save them.

And life goes on. The Wall St. gang is saved and can start on their next "financial engineering" game while the average American is either losing his house or has a mortgage for more than the house is worth.

Obama is a boy playing with men and they took him to the cleaners and us as well.

Judy, the bill has not been on line for a couple of weeks that will be signed. It was only available in rough draft the House and Senate on Thursday night. Plus, the House members did not have a copy of the Senate version and viceversa. He promised 5 days and it will not be such so stop apologizing for eveything he does wrong. It seems Obama has forgotten that he won and the campaigning can stop. Maybe we can start comparing him to Bush in how many days he is in the White House and how many he' isn't...Democrats used to love doing that. Camp David last weekend, out travelling all week, weekend in Chicago..... travelling next week to Denver to start....how much fuel has he wasted on Air Foce One that he didn't have to? Now democrats -complain away because you certainly won't like what I just said.

When is our President going to stop campaigning? He is NOT selling the stimulus bill - he is already running for 2012. And that is what the Democrats in the Congress are doing with our tax money - buying votes. The POTUS' office is in Washington D.C. and not in Elkhart or Ft. Myers or Denver. How much is his running around the country costing us? Has any one done an analysis of the percentage of the spending that will be going to those states that voted for President Obama versus those states that did not? It would be interesting to see those results. I want him to be successful, but not at the price we and our children and grandchildren are going to have to pay.

Indie in Colo. I must say your right about the presidency of Lincoln being tough but he also followed a president that was a goon. I am glad that something has finally been done that does not help the people (corporate scum) that has got us in this position due to a goon President (George W. Bush). Up with scratching the back of the people who supported you for 8 long painful years and down with the American economy and taxpayers, the Bush Years we will never forget.

Ed's Kate – Democrats have as much blame here as Repubs. Democrats are the ones who brought us the mortgage crisis courtesy of Carter and the CRA, plus Clinton, Frank, and that bunch. 30 years of failed Liberal policies caused that mess. It's arrogance and hubris for you to blame the Repubs for everything.

its great to see the new president come to Colorado and sign this bill. Denver and Colorado worked so hard for him to be elected. Bush only came here to raise money. Obama is a president of the people not just the privileged few.
