President Obama is President of the United States not president of Washington DC. meaning he should be going out to all the states to be with the people. People we need to come together and get this country working for us all again and I believe that is what President Obama wants to do and I believe unfortunately the Republicans do not.

fearful for my country   February 17th, 2009 5:15 pm ET

Osama needs to stop traveling on the taxpayers dime. He can go state to stae and ultimately he is going to sign it anyway so why waste the money? Did he not see enough of the "57" States when he was campaigning?

Farrell, Houston, Tx   February 17th, 2009 4:03 pm ET

Obama is doing the right thing, he's also going to Arizona also to explain to the people why Sen. John McCain can afford 8 houses and they can't afford one.

worriedmom   February 17th, 2009 3:59 pm ET

I dont have a problem of helping someone in trouble who lost their jobs and cannot pay their mortgage as a result of it, but I have a problem with helping people who knew darn well they could not afford the houses they were buying and now want us to help them. You should have to learn like I did, how to manage your money. If you are gonna reward those who got themselves in their own mess, then you better reward those who played by the rules and worked hard and paid on time to keep their houses!

Obama Cares   February 17th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

President Obama is right here with America, not sitting in some mansion wondering, wich one will i stay in this week, Obama cares about AMERICA.

Marc   February 17th, 2009 3:39 pm ET

So, now I have to pay for people who got themselves into house they can't really afford? I was disciplined, worked hard and didn't over extend my family. But I have to pay for those who lived high on the hog and will, evidently, get to keep on doing that. You're welcome. I guess...

Clara, CA   February 17th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

Head our way Barack, we love you.

mw   February 17th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

God bless you Mr. President.

The Godless (Ann coulter type talk) Republicans need to search the scripture to learn how to possess the fruits of the spirit. They are all so ugly, negative, heartless, whiny, arrogant, stubborn, obstructive, obstinate, dumb to think America likes them, unattractive, and they feel and are so impotent. We really don't like you ugly repugs. You are all on your way out. You all are just hoping tooooooo hard that President Obama and His America will fail. We prefer the positive spirit, the building up of hopes, not the tearing down of each other. WE REALLY DO NOT LIKE YOU REPUGS AT ALL. NOT ONE IOTA DO WE CARE TO LISTEN TO YOUR OBSTRUCTIONIST IDEAS. GO AWAY AND SHUT UP.

And he has to go West to sign this bill ~ why? He is wasting fuel to fly there to sign a bill. He does not back his talk with the walk!

Mike O   February 17th, 2009 3:23 pm ET

Heading west so he can burn up 15,000 gallons of jet fuel while signing legislation full of 'green' initiatives? The plane definitely is loaded with irony, if nothing else.

@ LIP –

I believe Reid had his own agenda about the rail, a "TRAIN TO NOWHERE...."

It's purpose? To bring in people from other states, so they can waste their entitlement check on gambling in his district....

Dumas McGee   February 17th, 2009 3:02 pm ET

why, if you break down who gets what in the stimulus bill, do places with more Obama Superdelegates get more money than places with more HIllary ones?

Quid pro quo with Team Chicago?

Proud American   February 17th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

Rescuing homeowners, whose own greed led them to buy more than they can afford? I don't believe the majority of this country wants to rescue those people; who in large part, are the ones crying for help....it was a sad day when this socialist became our president...now, he'll tell us what medical care we can get, what loan we can apply for, where our kid can go to college, what car we need to drive....wow! FREEDOM! CHANGE!

steve long   February 17th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

What I really want to know is which private sector companies are going to miraculously start hiring the moment magic Obama signs the bill? Over 1000 pages of government spending and very little incentive to start hiring US citizens and no mention of eliminating the use of H1-B's.

steve long   February 17th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

Well he hasn't offered to help with my mortgage. What's up with that?

Bob in Pa   February 17th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

How about stoping the raping of the credit card consumer with 18% + interest rates. That would do way more that helping a few people with mortgage problems.

Rick   February 17th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

Looks like Obama's instructions are to head west, north, south....anywhere but Washington, D.C. because he will just be in the way there.

Baze   February 17th, 2009 2:39 pm ET

Why the western swing? Maybe because the west coast is in freakin' shambles right now, DUH!

demwit   February 17th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

In light of the new fairness doctrine being discussed..

CNN Radio should lead by laying off half its oversized liberal staff for neo-conservative types like Hannity and Limbugh. Fair is fair..

1/20/13   February 17th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

Keep him out West.......I would like him to stay as far away as possible.

LIP   February 17th, 2009 2:24 pm ET

Do you think Obama will check out the route for the new high speed Billion dollar train from LA to Las Vegas that is part of his stimulus package? How about the other high speed train whose route no one seems to know about? Were these part of Nancy's desires or some other fat Democrat?

Peggy - TX   February 17th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Obama is doing the right thing for all Americans. In a rising tide all boats float. He must spend as the consequences for not acting quickly are desatoriose. At least we have a President that will direct the spending in a manner that helps most Americans. In less the then a month he has already made major strides in undoing the mess created by the last Administration.

I am shocked by the derogatory comments spewed by Republicans on these blogs with seemingly no agenda then to simply tear down our Democratically elected President. These comments reflect extraordinary ignorance and arrogance and are fueled by deep seated anger and hatred.

Matthew, Detroit   February 17th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

Forever Campaigning. Get back behind the desk Barack. You have a lot to do and flying around is just a stunt.

isamu nakao   February 17th, 2009 2:18 pm ET

What happen to obama green?
If he keeps flying every where he is using more fuel and more bad air.
Is A F 1 running on green air.
How much dollar's it cost to fly this plane all over just to sign this stupid spending bill.
Obama is a kid who likes to joy ride in his new toy.

frodo   February 17th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

It is moronic to talk about rescuing people with mortgages at the same time you're offering an $8000 tax credit to first time homebuyers!!!!

Incentives and a philosophy that "everyone should own a home" created the mortgage mess we are in. the governement has no place incentivizing people to buy homes!!!

This bill is the worst thing to ever hit our country....the pearl harbor of bills...this will create a war of the taxpayer vs. government. remember the stamp tax and boston tea party....!!

Simmy   February 17th, 2009 2:14 pm ET

"Why the Western Swing".....The air is fresher out there....if you know what I mean.

Sal Lindsburgh   February 17th, 2009 2:13 pm ET

I hope he stays out West, away from the politicians in DC which he cannot manage. Didn't he sell himself as the leader? Well, he has already failed in that.

bsmith171   February 17th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

why is he wasting FUEL?
