McCain blacklists The View?

The view co-hosts grilled McCain in September.
The view co-hosts grilled McCain in September.

(CNN) – Sen. John McCain just may have blacklisted the hit talk-show The View after a heated, somewhat confrontational, appearance on the program last September.

According to Barbara Walters, the show's creator and co-host, McCain told her at a recent Washington event he won't be appearing on the daily gabfest "any time soon."

"He had been on The View and was not very happy," Walters told a gathering at Syracuse University, according to Portfolio.com. "And when we walked out and I saw him I said, 'Senator, so nice to see you. I hope you'll come on The View again.' And he looked at me and said, 'Not anytime soon.'”

Appearing on the program at the height of his campaign for the White House, McCain was aggressively pressed on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's qualifications to be vice president, as well as negative campaign ads that several independent fact-checks had called downright misleading.

Walters specifically challenged Palin's reformist credentials, noting McCain has served in Washington for more than two decades and asking repeatedly, "Who's she going to reform, you?"

The Arizona senator is not the only member of the family who may have sour feelings toward the show. McCain's wife Cindy, after a contentious fall appearance of her own, declared that the co-hosts "picked our bones clean."

McCain appeared on the show with the intent to boost his support with the women voters [use the show], only to be confronted with truthful challenges that he thought he could control. Another miscalulation on his part which was one of many that led him to his demise.

This is "blacklisting?" The View betrayed the viewers by stabbing thier own content/integrity in the back.
McCains, or any other guest with similar treatment, would be idiots or into S/M to repeat the experiences.
The McCains were treated to malevolence while the Obamas kept receiving tender moments from the View panel.

Considering the fact that they were barely civil to him, while fawning over Obama, who can blame him. The animosity toward him, particularly by Joy Behar was palpable.

McCain and his wife, Cindy, couldn't stand the scrutiny and the view made them look like fools! If you can't stand the scrutiny, you shouldn't be in politics. It amazes me how people want to pretend that he and Sarah Palin are so moral. McCain cheated on his invalid wife and married a drug addict; while Palin has committed an abuse of power while in office on more than one occasion. I am thankful that they lost the election. After Bush, this country couldn't take "Dumb & Dumber" being in the White House!!

The View is a joke! It puzzles me as to why they call the show "The View" in the first place since it only depicts only ONE view. I don't blame Senator McCain for boycotting the show. I saw that episode and thought that Barbara Walters was the worst and mean-spirited host ever! I actually felt sorry for the McCains! The old saying may ring true one day, Barbara....."What goes around comes around". You should be ashamed for treating a human being that way!

Hope you are happy with your liberal Obama and Pelosi!

700 billion and the auto companies just ASKED FOR ANOTHER 26billion!

You liberals are unreal. Love how taxpayers are bailing out auto companies. Totally pathetic and unreal.

Liberals have no clue and are ruining the future for my children.

They treated him like trash when he was on the show. He doesn't need to take their crap and he knows it. Barbara Walters and Joy Bahar are complete loons and I refuse to watch the show with both of them on it.

Nobody can out-whine a Republican these days. They're never satisfied unless they get their way. My advice to McCain and other preadolescent GOPers – Stick to making appearances on FOX news if you're gonna burst into tears.

Maybe the ladies at the View should've grilled Obama just as hard... then we woudl've known what we were getting ourselves into. Welcome to the USSA.

Barbara Wa..Wa has lost all credibility as a legitimate journalist. The four left wingers ganging up and ambushing a candidate on a TV show like this is unprofessional. They were kissing Obama's feet when he was on. The View is a microcosm of how the media has become.....but I don't think the american public is as stupid as they think we are...Hopefully after this election cycle there will be a return to responsible journalism.

Why would Senator McCain want to go on a show full of pit vipers? These rude, crude women ,a term I used lightly are so Left wing bias, no Conservative should be caught dead there.

Well, if McCain could not take that pressure, he could of never taken the White House pressure. Just think if the public would of talk about his wife, what she would of said. They picked my bones clean.

Recently he was asked about the pool of potential candidates for 2012, and if Palin would be the front runner, HE replied that there was more promising canidates. He has no one to blame but himself, the American people saw and judged his poor decision making for themselves!

McCain is afraid of the women on The View? I'm glad I decided not to vote for him. We need presidents made of sterner stuff than that.

Well, what does Barbara Walters expect. She was rude to a fault, I am ashamed at the network for not firing her on the spot. She obviously was a supporter of Mr. Obama, along with the entire Cnn and MSNBC networks. This country has very hard times ahead, and Barbara, you now have a VERY unqualified man serving as president. Good luck America...
