(CNN) – Sen. John McCain just may have blacklisted the hit talk-show The View after a heated, somewhat confrontational, appearance on the program last September.
According to Barbara Walters, the show's creator and co-host, McCain told her at a recent Washington event he won't be appearing on the daily gabfest "any time soon."
"He had been on The View and was not very happy," Walters told a gathering at Syracuse University, according to Portfolio.com. "And when we walked out and I saw him I said, 'Senator, so nice to see you. I hope you'll come on The View again.' And he looked at me and said, 'Not anytime soon.'”
Appearing on the program at the height of his campaign for the White House, McCain was aggressively pressed on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's qualifications to be vice president, as well as negative campaign ads that several independent fact-checks had called downright misleading.
Walters specifically challenged Palin's reformist credentials, noting McCain has served in Washington for more than two decades and asking repeatedly, "Who's she going to reform, you?"
The Arizona senator is not the only member of the family who may have sour feelings toward the show. McCain's wife Cindy, after a contentious fall appearance of her own, declared that the co-hosts "picked our bones clean."

Oh puhleeze, who cares....
A-Rod is a big baby. Okay, so you took the drugs and now you can't be in the Hall of Fame. That's what happens to little boys who don't do the right thing. Oh, you're a man? Well man up and stop whining. You took the drugs and now you're out. I'm over it. Move on, America, this man is a bum.
Presidential politics is all about the rough and tumble......you are running
for the highest office in the land.....you have to expect some hardball....one has to develop thick skin......maybe McCain thought The View ladies were going to toss him some softballs.....
So he wanted to be president, and right all the wrongs in the world and stand up strong for America, but he can't stand the heat with a few girls on day time TV. Nice!
I do not know what kind of women watch the View because they are quite a bunch of stupid shrill old hags. Except for Elizabeth of course.
'THE VIEW' HOSTS HAVE NEVER CONCEALED THEIR UTMOST DISGUST AND HATRED FOR REPUBLICANS. SO TREATMENT METED OUT TO SENATOR MCCAIN WAS NO SURPRISE!
Wait for it...here it comes...just be patient...they are...not conservative enough!!! Oh my goodness...hide the children...lock the doors...don't look them in the eye...they have a liberal on that show!!!... Oh! The humanity!!! How dare anyone question a REPUBLICAN!
Wow if McCain can't handle the View then thank goodness he isn't our president...what a chicken...!
Conservative politician complains about media coverage.
Man bites dog.
Studies show that water is wet.
Film at 11.
He's just upset because only one person on that shows likes him, and she's an idiot!
Way to go McCain...
WHO can stand listening to all these bitter old ladies gab and gossip? I've tried to watch when O'Reilly was on and my gosh... it took all I had to listen to 10 minutes of it and I had to change it. Jody is by far the worst! My gosh, is she a miserable old hag or what?
I never understood why candidates appeared to add legitimacy to shows like The View, SNL, Leno, etc in the first place. Anyway, the View is a waste of airtime.
The show should be dumped, it and most of the nedia were kissing Obama"s butt.
I only saw the highlights, but this was a partisan stoning of Senator McCain. The most ridiculous question was Whoopi Goldberg's when, in response to McCain's claim to be a strict interpreter of the Constitution, she asked if she had to worry about becoming a slave. I guess if you don't have a clue about policy or issues, ask a completely ludicrous emotion driven question designed to insinuate your interviewee is a racist. It was partly McCain's fault for telling her it was a good point and then thanking her for bringing it to his attention. GOOD POINT?!? It had no point. Shame on McCain for not educating Ms. Goldberg about the 13th amendment, and for not telling her it was a stupid question not worthy of an answer. Not to mention that that it insulted the intelligence of everyone watching the show.
Good, he's a has been, lost the election, has nothing of any importance to say......just a mad old man, a want-a-be.........all washed up....
I saw that segment. It was a disgace. Sen McCain–a true American hero whether or not you like his politics–was repeatedly interupted, belittled and literally shouted down. I realize that this sort of shock "journalism" is not accidental; it is a deliberate calculation to draw viewers. But for this viewer, it backfired. I will never watch the program again.
Big mouth Joy, Barbara, Whoopie and that other black gal were saving all their 'fawning over' for Obama and Michelle. It was sickening to watch! They were downright MEAN to Cindy and John.
who cares if he goes on the show or not-i'm sure most people are not interested in seeing him anyways
waaa – a whiner just like his x running mate Palin.....get over it or listen to FOX news attack all Dems on a daily basis....imagine – McCain ran for President with such thin skin!!!!
Now if they could get Elizabeth and Sherrie to leave. He is the one that chose Palin. What did he expect...The show is called the view.
Well to be honest, she was kind of rude. Though I do like how she never let him start up on rhetoric.
JOHN MCCAIN IS WASHED UP AND THE JOKE IS NOT ONLY MCCAIN BUT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY
It's called "sore loser". It's John McCain who is washed up- he couldn't handle a bit of pressure and intelligently defend his campaign choices. So he lashes out a a talk show host??? Thank the good Lord he isn't in the White House!!!
Uh...who cares about J/M. He needs to go figure out what he will be doing when he looses his Senate Seat!!! It's time for him and all the other old guys on the HILL to take a hike!!! Oh and that goes for both Democrats and Republicans!!! TERM LIMITS!!!
If the American people knew the truth about McCain the country would black list him.
