McCain blacklists The View?

The view co-hosts grilled McCain in September.
The view co-hosts grilled McCain in September.

(CNN) – Sen. John McCain just may have blacklisted the hit talk-show The View after a heated, somewhat confrontational, appearance on the program last September.

According to Barbara Walters, the show's creator and co-host, McCain told her at a recent Washington event he won't be appearing on the daily gabfest "any time soon."

"He had been on The View and was not very happy," Walters told a gathering at Syracuse University, according to Portfolio.com. "And when we walked out and I saw him I said, 'Senator, so nice to see you. I hope you'll come on The View again.' And he looked at me and said, 'Not anytime soon.'”

Appearing on the program at the height of his campaign for the White House, McCain was aggressively pressed on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's qualifications to be vice president, as well as negative campaign ads that several independent fact-checks had called downright misleading.

Walters specifically challenged Palin's reformist credentials, noting McCain has served in Washington for more than two decades and asking repeatedly, "Who's she going to reform, you?"

The Arizona senator is not the only member of the family who may have sour feelings toward the show. McCain's wife Cindy, after a contentious fall appearance of her own, declared that the co-hosts "picked our bones clean."

At least McCain was being honest. On the View they always attack the guest so they can get in the news. It's all about ratings.

I agree.. and do you notice that the "ladies" of the view were almost salivating when the Obama's were there on two separate occasions.. Obama was told: "we thought you were very sexy looking"..
ahh, a bit of a difference in treatment between the McCains & the Obama's I would say.... but then again this guy is in office because of the media love affair so why should we be surprised.

If he couldn't handle the women on The View...how was he going to handle leaders from other countries? I think the right person was picked for President!

It's sad that The View was one of the only shows that was asking tough questions about the lies McCain was spewing. This is the man that was going to hunt down Bin Laden, but he can't even stand up to Barbara Walters!!?!?

Why does he need to go on again? The old man tried 3 times to be POTUS and failed each time.

What could he possibly talk about, besides how to deal with repeated failure on the biggest stage of his life.

Give the man some anonymity – he ran a crappy campaign and deserves to fade away...

sorry Liz – but it's McCain who is irrelevant and washed up. The most he could muster around this stimulus bill was "it won't work."
C'mon – if the Republicans had any good ideas, why don't we hear arout them? Certainly with all the media, they could get SOMEONE to cover a press conference regarding their ideas to get the economy back to flowing.
But no, all they can do is be proud of the "0" vote.
I wish all those who did not vote for the stimulus would not take any of the money and see how the voters in their state feel about it.
This is the exact reason I did not vote Republican in the last election.
They are irrelevant, out of touch, arrogant and only representing the very small minority of people who cling to the idea that all the rest of us ought to work extra hard so they can profit from it.
So, as far as McCain goes, put out or shut up.

I agree. The View is a joke. I am sure the McCain's treatment on the show was done on purpose to raise ratings, or get back the viewers who stopped watching in disgust at Rosey's lunatic antics.

Why anyone would go on that show is beyond me. I can't believe Barbara Walters had the nerve to even speak to John McCain after the way she and the other vultures on her show treated him and his wife. I totally agree with poster Liz that the View is a joke.
