McCain blacklists The View?

The view co-hosts grilled McCain in September.

(CNN) – Sen. John McCain just may have blacklisted the hit talk-show The View after a heated, somewhat confrontational, appearance on the program last September.

According to Barbara Walters, the show's creator and co-host, McCain told her at a recent Washington event he won't be appearing on the daily gabfest "any time soon."

"He had been on The View and was not very happy," Walters told a gathering at Syracuse University, according to Portfolio.com. "And when we walked out and I saw him I said, 'Senator, so nice to see you. I hope you'll come on The View again.' And he looked at me and said, 'Not anytime soon.'”

Appearing on the program at the height of his campaign for the White House, McCain was aggressively pressed on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's qualifications to be vice president, as well as negative campaign ads that several independent fact-checks had called downright misleading.

Walters specifically challenged Palin's reformist credentials, noting McCain has served in Washington for more than two decades and asking repeatedly, "Who's she going to reform, you?"

The Arizona senator is not the only member of the family who may have sour feelings toward the show. McCain's wife Cindy, after a contentious fall appearance of her own, declared that the co-hosts "picked our bones clean."

The 'View' treated McCain and his wife like s..t.
But when Obama was on the show all Barbara could say was how "handsome" he was. What a biased joke that show is.

He brings in Sarah Palin who no one knew eight weeks before the election. She wouldn't answer questions. They both conducted themselves in a manner unbecoming of leaders inciting crowds and dividing the American public. Then he expects the women on a talk show not to ask questions the viewers want to hear answers to.
How dare they ask him questions.

McCain choosing Palin ensured he will only be a footnote in history. As for not appearing on the "The View", as the SNL spoofed Joy Behar would utter "So what... who cares." Not me

I think his answer"not anytime soon" can have different interpretations. He could be saying simply that he is busy right now and will appear when necessary. I wonder why Barbara Walters is putting words in his mouth. McCain is not running for anything right now, and does not have any new book coming up soon, why would he find the need to go to the View? People like Barbara Walters cannot swallow taking "no" for anything and always think everyone wants to be on TV, but I am not sure if McCain, considering his age, is fighting to appear on her show. Campaign is over and TV shows should leave the Senator alone.

If The View hosts had treated President Obama the way they treated Senator McCain, they would be off the air by now.

If McCain can't hold his own with a bunch of gossipy hens, how did he expect to become the most powerful man in the world? And as I recall, the questions regarding Palin's qualifications were being asked by EVERYONE, not just the hosts of The View. McCain has no obligation to appear on the show again, but his refusal just makes him look like a sore loser.

That show is pathetic. They were so completely biased against McCain it was just sickening. Of course they were so in love with Obama that was sickening as well. I mean, seriously, you have one candidate on and you grill him about the qualifications of his VP nominee and then you have another on and the best question you can think of is whether he is related to Tom Cruise? First of all Sarah Palin has all the qualifications that Obama does and she wasn't running for President; second, I predict in four years we will all be comparing Joe Biden to Dan Quayle...tough to figure out who is less competent.

  24. The Obnoxious American

The View "hosts" were extremely rude. Joy Behar did the typical liberal thing, asking question after question (bs questions too) without letting McCain answer. See, there are two parts to asking a question, first part is asking the question, second is waiting for the answer. Seems Behar, at least when McCain was on, only knew about the first part of questioning.

Totally different approach when Obama was on, why? Wait, I already know the answer.
