FLOTUS thanks DOT for 'keeping America moving'

The DOT visit is the first lady's fifth and latest stop in her series of visits to government agencies.
The DOT visit is the first lady's fifth and latest stop in her series of visits to government agencies.

(CNN) – Michelle Obama continued her listening tour Friday, stopping at the Department of Transportation "simply to say thank you" to government employees and to push the president's $787 billion dollar stimulus plan. The DOT visit is the first lady's fifth and latest stop in her series of visits to government agencies.

The first lady, touting the stimulus bill as, “the largest investment in our nations' infrastructure since the interstate highways were created,” claimed the plan would “repair and re-build highways, expand access to public transportation which we all need, invest in high-speed railways which we all need, and improve our nations' airports.”

Mrs. Obama also told employees that not a day goes by that the work of the DOT "doesn't touch the lives of every single person in America."

"We rely on the airlines, the trains, the buses that are under your supervision to reach loved ones and to conduct business in distant places all over this country because of your work," the first lady said. "We can buy the products that make life comfortable and conduct the commerce that's the engine of our economy."

“Just know that we value you, America values you, and together we can get this country moving again," Obama said in closing. "We're going to need one another."

Strong and intelligent, Mrs. Obama would mop up the floor with your pasty white sexist butts. You Republican sissy pants wouldnt know what to do with a lady like Michelle, because your idea of a real woman is some wilting lilly you can control by keeping her at home.

And who cares what FLOTUS thinks? FLOTUS was NOT elected to anything. FLOTUS now has a cushy house, with cushy around-the-clock-service and NO mortgage payments. FLOTUS now likes to sport her new wardrobe by FLOTUS designers! Is FLOTUS now FINALLY proud of America with all her new "goodies"? Come on, FLOTUS - say you ARE – just once - SAY IT, FLOTUS!

There will come a time "In four years" that the theme will not quite change. Instead of saying "Yes We Can" alone; we'll be saying, "Yes We Can – The Hard Work Continues" and "We are better off this past four years than we were during the Bush eight"

Notice how much taller she is then anyone else on the stage. Do you see how long her fingers are? Note how her hips are as wide as the podium. Look at that forehead. To me thats a lady.

who's watching the obama kids? i remember such a big deal being made about Gov. Palin and who would watch her kids. It seems to me that Mr and mrs O are always going here or there. Maybe Mrs O should stay at home and watch her kids. people are upset that the tax payers are going to have to pay to look after the octuplets. It seems we are paying to look after the obama kids.

What I love most is that the First Lady and OUR new President are smart enough to ignore the HATERS.

He has asked for the HATERS cooperation but if he doesn't get it, he will just keep it moving... Thank goodness...

She is beautiful and gracious and neither desires nor needs anyones approval.. That's the beauty of being the First Lady. She didn't have to get elected.. She just IS...

Don't bank on it, Otto. The "theme" might well become, "We could have, but we didn't," because "We the People" believed in the Empty Suit that is Barack Obama. And LOTS of thing can happen in 4 years, such as another terrorist attack on American soil (think not? think again). Let's see if you're REALLY better off then! My bet is NO! But dream on, buddy!

it is called a "perspective"! ..............in architecture, 3D, and everyday looking around. What is farther looks smaller, what is close to the front, looks bigger.......

also the difinition of real lady might be in dictionary.

... always remember – your post says more about YOUR character than about the person you criticize.
    and:
Critics are like eunuchs, they know everything about it, they talk a lot about it, but they can't do it – that's why they are so angry with those who can.

Before the haters start salivating and spewing garbage I want to say that I love the First Lady!
She's a beautiful and great role model!
    ----------
Good for you, "Tina." She's also someone whose salary was bumped from approx. $150K per year to $300k per year once her husband was elected to the U.S. Congress. And ... there was NO increase in her job content/responsibiity.

But I'm SO glad you're lovin' her, darlin'. As for me, I don't!

Thank you for your post. You might have to draw pictures to get them to understand that Acorn is irrelevant. You might have to forward your post to their senators, they seem to not understand the voting rules either. SAD!!!!!!

YES - bought undervalued with "perks" by Rezko.

sherry:She is more involved then stay at home and knit Laura…thats true.
    ------–
I don't recall Laura staying home and "knitting." She championed women's rights in Afghanistan an elsewhere. YOU DISAGREE WITH THAT?

sherry:She is showing herself as a wonderful caring and involved first lady.
    ---------
She's clearly NOT proud of America!

sherry: How refreshing having a president and first lady that truely care for America and all the people….not just the rich.
    -------
The Obamas are not "rich"? Are they "poor"? Me thinks not.
By the way, it's "truly," not "truely."

Why is it that Michelle can get away with traveling around without her small daughters and leave them at home or where ever and other people throw off on Gov Pali n and she has her kids with her. Do you not think Michelle should stay and home and be a good wife, mother and first lady? Set the example for all of us as a mother. If she needs to knit to fill some of her time she coukd knit like you say Laura did then she could give the items to charity. Do not critize one person and leave the orther out. Not fair at all Sue
