I think that a lot of people in financial trouble are not comfortable to see others ( leaders etc) to spend money on something which people – hard working people would like to have too : parties, dinners, better cars, fancy clothes, vacations, ....if people cannot afford this, then they grow sad, bitter, feel that someone is taking advantage of them....

She was just recently informed the IRS opinion was that the funds were taxable, and thus should be added to her 2008 tax bill - due April 15, 2009. She has every intention of paying it as she stated. They are not back-taxes she was trying to cover-up or dodge like so many Obama appointee-hopefuls.

On the other hand, the country has been subjected to the embarrassing development of many of Obama's high-level appointees, including one that WAS appointed (Geithner), going back and paying taxes they must have known about all along because they were up for a position that would uncover the tax-cheating in the vetting process. As far as how long winded Obama was on his first press conference, I am getting tired of hearing all the complaints. He was explaining very clearly, so there could be no mistake that this is a major economic crisis we face and what his administration is doing to right the mistakes of the last eight years. I thought his mastery of the English language was a breath of fresh air over the previous administration which had a hard time putting two sentences together. How in the world can we be fighting two wars, with American military members suffering through the multitudes of physical and emotional problems that go along with them, and there is absolutely nothing in this package to deal with that, and the media has completely ignored that fact. I knew that Obama was anti-military, and I knew that the military would suffer under his presidency, but this is too much to continue being ignored. As unpopular as these wars may be, our men and women in uniform deserve much better than that.

Raymond...stop whining. He's the PRESIDENT. This is what Presidents DO. Funny, I've never seen you in here complaining about W. taking vacations (w. the expensive Airforce One jet) to Crawford Ranch every other week.

So much for Obama saying he didn't want a lavish dinner in Canada he is having his own extraveganza at the taxpayers expense.

She always looks so good and she has some nice big hips.

Hopefully the republican governors who know all and feel they can run their own states without stimulus money will stay away. I would hate for the president to meet with people who have no regard for him to show up. But he is to much of a gentleman to be like the likes of Barber and his cronies.

Will Sarah Palin's per diem be covered by the Alaska Government, or will the NGA cover costs? If the NGA covers cost, can she still request additional per diem from Alaska? There's a nice D&G dress she's got her eye on.

Ceremonies like these that are full of pomp and circumstance should be dropped if we are in truly hard economic times. All of this the travel for each governor, the food, the entertainment, etc. etc. are on the taxpayer's dime. As one of those taxpayers, I'm definitely NOT impressed.

Looks like Mr and Mrs Chavez ...er.. Obama are enjoying the HIGH LIFE while America foots the bill.

Glad they're making "sacrifices" like the rest of us. (insert sarcasm)
