Schweitzer wishes Palin showed up to NGA meeting

Gov. Schweitzer discussed his views of the stimulus and Sarah Palin's absence from the NGA this weekend.

(CNN) – Many of the nation’s governors descended on Washington for the National Governors’ Association meeting this weekend, but a famous face was absent: Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who co-chairs the NGA's Natural Resources Committee with Palin, told CNN he wishes she was there.

"Fewer TV cameras will be there and I have to stay all the way to the end to report, so I wish she was here," Schweitzer joked on CNN's State of the Union.

But the Montana Democrat did not fault his colleague from Alaska for missing the NGA's winter meeting.

"Governors have to balance their job," he said. "These meetings are important, but in some ways, we come here and restate the obvious."

While Palin chose to skip the meeting this year, her appearance at it one year ago may have been pivotal to her future: it was when she first met Arizona Sen. John McCain.

She was taking food to the villagers after on line bloggers went insane that she had not helped them and they are freezing and starving

She's too busy interfering in her daughter's life and interviews, trying to figure out how much she owes in taxes, and how to continue to ignore the plight facing many of her own constituents who have to choose between food and heating oil. She also has nothing to wear, no ideas, no actual energy expertise, a fear of exposing the lies she promoted to bolster her paper-thin resume, and is busy trying to think of ways to make her end-times, theocrat agenda come to fruition.

By the way, Schweitzer rocks as governor. We have a balanced budget and he won the election four months ago with 70%. He's a Dem.

Maybe she had to suspend her campaign for president and rush back to Washington to help push the stimulus package through (same timing as McCain's suspension a few months ago).

Could we hope that she's dropped out of sight permanently?

Sen Shelby of Alabama has to produce a copy of his birth certificate online to disprove the claim now on internet that his parents were brother and sister. Until he does that , his eligibility to serve in the senate is questionable at best.

She was to speak on energy at the meeting and I suspect would have been a disaster and knew it! What she received press on was the 'grandstanding' in Alaska delivering needed food to a western village – something she should have been attuned to some weeks ago and had to be notified of the problem by members of the Alaska Legislature. The woman is doing a horrid job as Governor of Alaska.

So if Governor Palin is the publicity hound that the media has tried so hard to SELL her as, why is she home doing her job instead of basking in the media spot light in D.C.? Maybe its because she is GENUINE and REAL–something the media does not understand or appreciate.

Whenever the media finds politicians that are NOT corrupt and phony, it feels oblidged to destroy them.....and their families.

Bristol Palin's interview with Greta Van Sustern, having to re-pay $17,000 in taxes, and a chance face-to-face show down with Mrs. Obama would did not garner the "positive" spin she had hoped for.

Palin is now above and beyond such Governor messy stuff.

Hey, what do you mean "she first met Senator John McCain" – It was the only time she met the man before he elected her to potentially take the second highest office in this nation.

We don't care about Sarah Palin anymore, nor Bristol Palin, nor Track, Trig, Tripp, Willow, Pistol, Trunk, Truck, Trick, Trapp, Tree, Trogg, nor any of the other Palins yet to be named weirdly or to follow. THE PALINS DO NOT MATTER!

Yep – since she was a no show, he's left to do the final paperwork.

Too bad. But at least he can write and spell and think and speak.

why does CNN keep feeding the hate. Everytime you print a story about Palin, the people who say they believe in hope and change, go crazy with their venom directed at this woman. It's amazing that they can't see what hypocrites they are. If you don't agree with her, just don't vote for her, it's that simple. Please keep your version of hope and change to yourself, it's just so unpleasant.

Maybe she would rather be home doing her job for the Alaskan people than hob knobbing with a bunch of media-hungry, grandstanding politicians and eating auderves and sipping martinis with the Obamas and the Washington elites.

I'm proud of you, Governor Palin. You were the REAL candidate of change in the 2008 election and if the majority of the American people were smart, you'd be our Vice President right now.

Maybe he should have stuck up for her when the Media was tearing her apart. They all know all they have to do is throw her name out and they get free publicity. Hypocritical.

Republicans shouldn't be in a haste on who should run for office in 2012 because every one in the Democratic Party once thought Hillary or Edwards was going to be the 2008 Democratic nominee until one skinny kid with a funny name came into the fold. The Republicans are jumping the curbs in who should lead them in 2012.. Never forget that things do happen. 2012 is still a long way from now . With the way things are going we don't know who will live to get there.
