Schweitzer wishes Palin showed up to NGA meeting

CNN

Gov. Schweitzer discussed his views of the stimulus and Sarah Palin's absence from the NGA this weekend.

(CNN) – Many of the nation’s governors descended on Washington for the National Governors’ Association meeting this weekend, but a famous face was absent: Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who co-chairs the NGA's Natural Resources Committee with Palin, told CNN he wishes she was there.

"Fewer TV cameras will be there and I have to stay all the way to the end to report, so I wish she was here," Schweitzer joked on CNN's State of the Union.

But the Montana Democrat did not fault his colleague from Alaska for missing the NGA's winter meeting.

"Governors have to balance their job," he said. "These meetings are important, but in some ways, we come here and restate the obvious."

While Palin chose to skip the meeting this year, her appearance at it one year ago may have been pivotal to her future: it was when she first met Arizona Sen. John McCain.

    W H O C A R E S!! Please keep her in Alaska.

Regarding the bailout – those Republicans who don't want to accept the bail-out – GREAT! That's less money needed to be spent in the bail-out package.

    Idiots!
Palin is in her state visiting villages and bring food to her constituents that have asked her for help. She is doing what we elected her to do.

To bad, not enough cameras for you bunch of guys. Be happy, now you might get some camera time.

The Guv doesn't need anyone to tell her how bad this bill is for our country.

Why does everyone keep picking on Palin? She's busy running the state of Alaska into the ground with her per diem expenses, Trig's illegitimate baby, those tax evasion charges, Troopergate, and now that her son is in Iraq, they're not making any profit from his crystal meth sales. God you guys, give her a break!

CNN and other media just trying to stir the pot and give the appearance of GOP dissension and angst against Palin, because that is the mission of the MSM. They fear her, and rightly so.

Reason for missing the conference? Gov. Palin and our Texas governor, Rick "Goodhair" Perry were too busy having a contest to see who was the Most Socially Conservative and the Most Out-of-Touch with most Americans. The contest ended in a tie! God, help us............

I am just glad that she is not living in DC. Alaska is just fine. BTW no one is forcing governors to take the stimulus money. If the idiots put politics above the well-being of their people so be it.

Why the big deal about Palin not going to DC....why spend so much money with transportation, hotel, security, food etc.......maybe you all should be wondering....WHY your govs are going while your state is begging for tax payer dollars to do the jobs they should've been doing all along! You stupid leftists, go plug in your cars!!!

WOW! What a bunch of idiots! Rather than report WHERE she actually is, you report this. Followed of course by comments from a bunch of morons who still can't get over her popularity. So where is Palin? Oh yeah thats right, she was in the remote villages of Marshall and Russian Mission near the Bering Sea on the Yukon River working with the Yu'pik Natives in helping them cope with a lack of economy and high cost of fuel and food. In the meantime Dem Gov's like Schweitzer are tooling around the country at our expense to attend a conference he has no interest in and he is complaining that Palin was too busy working and he can't get enough spot lights on himself without her. Typical! Good call Palin!

It's so nice to see that all you naysayers about Sarah Palin are perfect. The way you talked you should all walk on water with the Chosen One.

I don't necessarily believe she was right for the party, but I certainly don't think she deserves to be continually be trashed by people who only wish they were as popular as her. IT does make one wonder what your all about and why you have this incessant need to bash her when you don't know her or her family. Presumptuous to say the least..

I can only hope your unemployment checks run out soon so you can be in the bread line with your families wondering how the next meal, tank of gas, house payment will be made by the chosen one. It's just sickening to read all this about a woman that probably has more gutts than any of you will ever have and the only way you can express yourselves is to say things unkind, unwarranted and ignorant..

First, the people are too worried about what Gov. Palin is doing. I am sure there are other governors not attending. Whatever Gov. Palin does, she is going to be criticized by the media. Show up or not! Media is just afraid to criticize our Congress controlled by Democrats and the new administration. Remember one man did not cause this problem and one man is not going to correct it! It is time for our Congress to act like adults and stop playing games.

is this what happens when you abort a child? you become so angry and toxic at a woman who had the courage to have her child. all this hate you have for Palin is only what you are projecting about yourself. forgive yourself for that abortion. cleanse your soul and then maybe you will see Sarah's no nonsense, practical approach to how to create jobs without bankrupting the country.
