Schweitzer wishes Palin showed up to NGA meeting

CNN

Gov. Schweitzer discussed his views of the stimulus and Sarah Palin's absence from the NGA this weekend.

(CNN) – Many of the nation’s governors descended on Washington for the National Governors’ Association meeting this weekend, but a famous face was absent: Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who co-chairs the NGA's Natural Resources Committee with Palin, told CNN he wishes she was there.

"Fewer TV cameras will be there and I have to stay all the way to the end to report, so I wish she was here," Schweitzer joked on CNN's State of the Union.

But the Montana Democrat did not fault his colleague from Alaska for missing the NGA's winter meeting.

"Governors have to balance their job," he said. "These meetings are important, but in some ways, we come here and restate the obvious."

While Palin chose to skip the meeting this year, her appearance at it one year ago may have been pivotal to her future: it was when she first met Arizona Sen. John McCain.

She had a Sarah moment, her brain fell out of her behind and she realized she was as stupid as everyone said she was, LOL

The democrats in Washington are not going to let Alaska build a natrual gas pipeline to the lower 48 and allow more domestic drilling because it is against their enviromental/global warming agenda of only the elitist being able to drive luxury cars because they are so much better and wiser than common folk. Also the polar bear which has gone form 10,00 to 25,00 in population and the carabo are more important than our economy and energy demand. I could not even drive to work and back everyday because an electric car does not have the capacity for me to make it. I do not blame Gov. Palin. The democrats and media would just s@#$ on her like they did during the campaign.

Well, you have to admit it was quite a let down, after all they were having a dumber and dumbest contest and the dumbest one of all failed to show up to claim her prize, so how would you feel? She is after all the stupidest person in the world but one of the brightest members of the Republican party, who after all pride themselves on being the dumbest folks of all, that is what they stand for stupidty and ignorance and their model republican was missing, without a brain no less LOL

Let me see. Palin just might be asked questions about not paying her taxes. Wait . . . isn't that tax evasion? Where is the outrage from the Republicans?

She gets trashed by the liberal's because they fear her. She has strong conservative values and exerts herself in a dignified way while mustering up support to achieve them. It is something that most of todays polititians ( on both sides ) cannot claim. She skips a function that is no more than a "Get together" to stay on her "job" and gets trashed for it? Oh brother...

I am continually amazed at the unbelievable ignorance of the people who leave comments. You do know that Gov. Palin is not the person portrayed by the comedian on SNL, don't you? Do you ever bother to ascertain the truth? Maybe you can't handle the truth. At any rate, how did Sarah Palin get so much power over you? What do you fear? This country is big enough for everyone. And what is the difference between one of you geniuses saying that you wish all Republicans would disappear and someone else saying that the black people should go back to Africa? Here's what I find frightening. You ignoramuses have the right to vote and probably can't even balance your checkbooks.

  7. I love Stimulus spending!!!

I think the smoke and mirrors that Palin hid behind during the campaign are starting to dissolve and her true colors are coming out...she has a sloth-like attitude toward her role in Alaska.

I guess she finally figured out she's too stupid to face the press. And liberals are not afraid of her – why would we be? She's been proven to be an ignorant hyprocritical loser. Did it ever occur to you that we just enjoy bashing morons like her?

Why do people ( from the left ) HATE her so, so much? . . .Because they fear her and the right she represents. If a senator with less than four years experience( not counting his days as a community organizer, that people believe is as important as a governor ) she too can become president

  10. That Other Jerry

Obviously Sarah Palin's absence did NOT ruffle feathers, and Gov. Schweitzer was perfectly understanding about why she wasn't there. As were no doubt all the other governors. So why the STUPID headline on your home page implying the exact opposite? Does CNN now stand for the Cheapshot News Network? Last I checked, we have 49 other governors, all of whom go places or don't go places, have children, brush their teeth, and do all sorts of normal things. This obsessive coverage of Palin for no purpose other than to stir up the moronic haters on this blog is getting ridiculous. Until she actually does something, how about leaving her alone and covering paint-drying contests or something equally exciting.

Gov Richardson from New Mexico was also a no show but I guess that doesn't make much headlines does it?

Too bad she isn't ALWAYS a "no show" but then again, even if she's there she's not "all there" so it really doesn't matter anyway. The "Sopranos" had a lot of "no show jobs" as well and look what happened there.
A person can dream can't one?

The fact that this woman has been given any sort of political control or responsibility is indicative of a severe shortcoming in the processes within our society and government that are supposed to prevent such unintelligent, irresponsible, and incapable people from reaching that point in the first place, let alone removing them once they have humiliated and proven themselves incompetent in the way that she has repeatedly done thus far.

Palin is the sole reason I voted for Obama. No one with that little knowledge should ever be president. It isn't that she didn't know, it's that she didn't care to know. It looked to me like she would be an even worse president than Bush was if that is possible.

I can't believe that there are so many people that can't spell out there. And what's worse, they have the gall to attack a righteous, upstanding person like Sarah Palin. One woman even said she should get a college degree before running for president, and she couldn't spell properly either. Why don't you Palin basher's out there just let Palin be? She is a great leader, and more than that, a great woman that will do much to advance the cause of the woman in our country when she wins the presidency (taking it away from the incompetent fool in office now). Get a life and stop hating folks.

gl, Pittsburgh? racist? I thought Governor Palin and Senator Clinton had racism thrown at them. I keep telling my five daughters they can be president some day, but after this last election they have some second thoughts that America is ready for a women president. Too much coverage on what they were wearing and such??? yah, racism , black men had the right to vote before any color women had the right.
